I was reading about different tours in Rio, who is sugesting what, was reading the feedbacks from the tourists. So, our experience with Augusto is very nice. As we had one spare day, he adapted the program and gave advices for our own time. We discovered a lot more about the city itself, not only about points of interest. After these 3 days Augusto really became a friend of our family.

We were so lucky to have Gus as our guide for the 3 days we spent in Rio. His huge knowledge and passion for the city meant that we were able to get a unique insight into the area as well as seeing all the iconic sites. Nothing was too much trouble and he ensured we had a fantastic time including recommending additional activities and great places to eat, drink and listen to live music. Gus went above and beyond to look after us including ensuring we got to our next destination when we had issues with an overbooked flight. We cannot recommend Gus highly enough!

Gus is the best! He is the best guide who will show you everything you need to see in Rio de Janeiro. We are a family of 4 from Serbia who spent 2 days in Rio with Gus. He is very helpful, he talked to us much before our arrival in Rio about our wishes and interests so he could know what we should see. One of our major interests was football and Gus managed to find tickets for us and took us personally to the game at Marracana and gave us an unforgettable experience. He also took us to see the city and showed us the beauty of Rio while also giving us detailed explanations and answered all of our questions. He is very knowledgeable, friendy, we talked about history, art, sports, politics etc. He also helped us find a wonderful guide in Sao Paolo and he made sure that we get there safe. We spent 1.5 days together with Gus and Guilherme. We organized everything with Gus, and even though he had an appointment on the first day, he made sure Guilherme showed us around. Everything went smoothly, and we managed to see a lot of Rio. I would highly recommend Gus; he has so many stories to tell and is a true local. We managed to see a bit of everything and different facets of Rio. Gus was always reachable when we had a question. I highly recommend a tour with Gus.

Most visitors assume that Rio is mainly Copacabana, the Favelas, Sugar Loaf and Corcovado. Therefore we allocated 2 full days in Rio on our S American sojourn. To my surprise, as I delved deeper I realised there was a lot more to explore. We knew we needed to have a private guide to be able to cover all our areas of interest in history, architecture and culture. I was recommended Gus Guia to guide us through the two days we had. He has a great way of introducing the many facets of Rio. Starting with the country’s history at the onset, to guiding us through the beautiful examples of classical, modern and futuristic architecture in the city including the street mural art. Being a vegetarian group, he even managed to ensure that we could sample Brazilian food through the vegetarian version of ‘moqueca’ and took us to his secret ‘find’ of freshly baked cheese bread, with its taste still lingering in our mouths. In most visitors minds, Rio is synonymous with the Carnival. However, who knew of the history of Samba, the Samba clubs and an entire industry that it supports. Gus is very proficient in English which greatly increased our understanding and enjoyment of our trip. He knows all the photographic view points and doubles up as a good photographer too. He even indulged our desire to visit an old Brazilian perfumier and knew of the branch that had added a new endeavour of perfume flavoured ice creams. Gus has a vast repository of knowledge and expertise. He deftly planned and made efficient use of the time we had at our disposal to cover the numerous places on our itinerary and interests. Our first visit to Rio has been made most memorable! There is no doubt Gus has had a great hand in it. We have already ‘booked’ Gus for our next Rio visit!

Gus was a very excellent tour guide in Rio de Janeiro and was by far the best we had in Brazil. He is highly experienced and extremely customer service oriented. We highly recommend him!

Gus was the best! He was prompt in picking us up at our hotel and communicating through WhatsApp. He customized our tour according to our needs the traffic and the fog rolling in . We began with Christ the Redeemer. He even acted as our personal photographer. He knew all of the short cuts through the long lines and how to avoid stairs. He drove the car in a safe manner and we felt safe with him. We made several stops, had lunch and ended at Sugarloaf. It was foggy when we got there , but we were lucky when the clouds moved out of the way. I think that somehow Gus willed the fog to lift. He pointed out the best places to stand for the views and to get the best photos. He was knowledgeable about Rio and its history. Choose this tour with Gus and you won’t be disappointed.

We had the best time touring Rio with Gus! He was knowledgeable and knew all the tricks to make the most of our time. Additionally, he recommended we attend a soccer semi-final at Marcana stadium (which wasn't on our radar) and it was awesome! Great tour! Gus speaks perfect English. It all went smoothly and efficiently. It was amazing how we skipped all the lines to the Christ statue and were there quickly. If I were alone, I would've given up when I saw the huge lines. The rest of the tour followed the destinations that I wanted to see, and Gus added some of his suggestions that we covered as well and I really liked them. We saw so much in just one day. All very well thought through and connected. I can highly recommend Gus as a tour guide.

On my tour, we stopped at three major places. The colorful steps, Sugar Loaf hill and Christ the Redeemer statue. The day we went was cloudy but the sun came out a few times and we were able to get in a couple of good pictures. My tour guide Karla was great and I would book with her again.
