We came to Rio for the first time to celebrate the New Year's Eve, and had the pleasure of meeting Claudio. We were impressed with his deep knowledge of all things Rio and Brasil. He speaks many languages (English, français, español, and português). He showed us the Sugar Loaf, the Cristo statue, the downtown area, Copacabana, and Ipanema--and more!! He has been doing this a while, and is a welcoming and warm person. It was a pleasure to spend time with him. He knows EVERYTHING about Rio--the 'it' places to go, the best restaurants, the history and more. We were so happy with our tour, that we booked two additional days with him so we could be immersed in the culture. One day we went to Petropolis to see the Imperial Palace, and he arranged everything for us!! Another day he took us to several beaches--it was so much fun and we got a tan too!!, It was so easy, because without him we would not have had such a great experience. He opens the cultural door to Rio and Brazil! If you are reading this, ***DONT WAIT!!!*** Book a tour with Claudio and you will be incredibly happy you did. His rates are competitive and you get so much more than expected--we tipped him an extra US$50 per day because we had such an amazing time. We will definitely come back to Rio de Janeiro again because of Claudio. He made our holiday the best that we have ever had, hand-down. We enjoyed a full day tour of Rio which included Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. Both were really crowded but organized in terms of crowd control. Fortunately the weather was good so it wasn't bad standing in line and people-watching on the way up to both. The length of time spent at the actual site/top was minimal compared to the wait time but the views provided were great.

Claudio is such an incredible guide - we only had a short time in Rio and he crafted two incredible tour days for us, ensuring we had a full Rio experience in the short time we had. I think it would have taken us 4-5 days on our own to do what we did with Claudio in two days. He knows all the tips and tricks to get the best views and experiences at each location, saving a lot of time that would be otherwise spent waiting around or trying to navigate. We had 2 days with Claudio as a guide. His first day was challenging because it was raining relentlessly and fat too cloudy to see Christ the Redeemer or Sugar Loaf Mountain. He compensated brilliantly by showing us parts of the city that we might otherwise have missed. This included the stunning Cathedral that is designed to look like a Mayan Pyramid but contains some of the mot beautiful stained glass windows I have ever seen. We also saw the Portuguese library and of course the Maracanã Stadium tour! Cludio looked after us throughout, kept us informed about every detail of where we were and made sure that we benefitted from any perks that were available! On day 2 the sun came out and were able to do Sugar Loaf, although the Christ the Redeemer had to wait... A brilliant guide who I would always use if revisiting the city.

There is no better way to see Rio in a day than with Claudio!! He was able to get us to Cristo and Sugar Loaf in record time - and we so appreciated his knowledge and enthusiasm and history! I was introduced to Claudio by the owner Casa Beleza in Santa Teresa after the 1st day I arrived. On the 2nd day, Claudio & I walked around Centro & saw my sites. I ended up having lunch as well. If you need a tour guide, Claudio is your guy! (Thx Claudio)

I give my warmest recommendations for Claudio. As a family of four (kids 11 and 14) it is not an easy task to please all family members during a long historical walk across multiple sites, but Claudio managed this in the possible way. He is extremely knowledgeable and at the same time communicative and an attentive listener, so the entire family had a wonderful day with him, enjoying all the sites and learning about them, the history of Rio, and even contemporary politics. I would easily meet up with Claudio again next time we visit Rio - I expect it would take many trips to exhaust his deep knowledge.

The trip was amazing. Claudio had a lot of historical knowledge of Rio, and took US to the most exciting places I could inagine, including beautiful churches, a nice café and the imperial palace. I don’t think there is a better guide in all of Rio.
