Booked Marco via a recommendation. He showed up on time and drove us around in a nice vehicle. He is very knowledgeable being a native of Rio and his English is great. Well spoken, polite yet commanding. We actually had a laugh with him so that makes it much easier… He knows where to go and where to stand, queue, sit, drive and walk to get the best experience in a short time. If you are going to Rio and unsure of how to get about and see the sights, give Marco a shout - he is your man.

I highly recommend Marco for tours. He is very knowledgeable, intelligent, thoughtful, and someone with whom you'll enjoy spending the day. He got to know our group by asking insightful questions about our interests, and he then tailored our tour specifically to our family group of six adults. Beyond our list of "must-see" sights, he offered additional highlights about which we had not previously been aware. He explained which sights we should do on our own and made a point of showing us all the key sights that would be difficult for us to do without assistance. For the days that we weren't with him, he offered numerous helpful suggestions for the rest of our time in Rio. Our time in Rio wouldn't have been nearly as satisfying without Marco. You must book him!

If you're looking for a little side trip from Rio for the day, we highly recommend a tour to Petropolis. The city is really interesting and unique and the drive from Rio is beautiful (through Serra dos Orgãos National Park). Marco is an exceptional guide and his background in the travel and hospitality industry lends itself well to his expertise as a tour guide. His English is perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him and couldn't have been more pleased with the special lunch place that he chose for us.

Looking back to our recent visit to Rio de Janeiro we're happy that after a one day tour with Marco we were able to schedule a second day! Thanks to Marco we had two perfect days in this beautiful city. Marco provided one of the best tours I’ve ever experienced. My American family and I took his English version tour that he tailored just for us and were extremely impressed. We opted out of including Pão de Açúcar and Cristo as these attractions take a lot of time and tend to have large crowds. We let Marco take us to the best spots in Urca, Downtown and Santa Teresa. The downtown cobble stone streets showed a completely different side of Rio. I highly recommend it - all while feeling 100% safe at all times. As a native Carioca, Marco knows everything about his city. He speaks perfect English and is such a pleasant person to be around that you’ll enjoy every moment. I look forward to returning to the Cidade Maravilhosa and taking another tour with Marco.

Marco did a fantastic architecture tour of Rio focusing on (but not only) Oscar Niemeyer. He did the nice surprise to bring us to the top of Niteroi where we saw an amazing sunset.

We hired Marco B. to see the buildings designed by Oscar Niemeyer. We started the day at the Caminho Niemeyer and saw several of Niemeyer's creations. Marco then took us up to the city park with magnificent vistas of Rio. Lucky for us, we discovered that Marco had been a hotel concierge and he made reservations for lunch and dinner for us that were the best meals of our trip.

Marco was absolutely the best guide. He was incredibly informative and took us to some really interesting places. At the end of the trip we felt like we had a sense of the real Rio, it’s history and it’s fabulous architecture. I have been on lots of tours and I would say he is one of the best tour guides I have had.
