About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- U5002GInicolab0 contributionsFabulous and would highly recommendBrilliant day. Saw all the sites, there is quite a lot of time on the bus but it is managed really well. You visit the sites and then jump back on the bus to the next site. Our guide was brilliant. Spoke 3 languages and spoke to everyone. He was so knowledgeable on everything. I would recommend him particularly very highly. Our driver was a happy guy and dropped us in the best locations and then was always there to collect us promptly. Bus was air conditioned and super comfy seats. We ran over time but the guide was great and never rushed anyone and completed every part of the trip. Lunch was outstanding. Sometimes, on trips, lunch is not much, but the BBQ food, salads, sushi, fish, etc. It was excellent and we very much enjoyed it.Written November 2, 2024

- lihis20240 contributionsAVOID ! NOT RECOMMENDED!!I recently went on the Sightseeing Sunset Cruise, and I was extremely disappointed. We couldn't see anything because of the BAD WEATHER ,even when we asked to cancel and reschedule due to the fog ,rain and cold wind and overall darkness , but the tour agency insist that we can sail in this bad weather , therefore it was terrible experience , felt so unsafe.. To make matters worse, the crew was rude and unhelpful, which really ruined the trip. The boat itself was dirty, and the ride made several people, including myself, feel nauseous and sick. I wouldn't recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a pleasant experience.Written October 24, 2024
- Cash M0 contributionsGreat Tour With RaquelRaquel was an amazing tour guide! She had great energy and was very knowledgeable of all the places on the tour. She made sure we all stayed together and no one got left behind. I will book with her again. -Holland JonesWritten October 23, 2024
- Margie O0 contributionsCould Have Been BetterThis activity has the potential to be worthwhile but the guide, Allesandro, did not speak English adequately and did know how to keep a group of 12 together, so all in all it was a disappointing tour. He did not talk very much during the entire trip and instead of it taking 4 hours, it took 6 1/2 because he did not establish some basic ground rules, like “stay together as a group”. Instead of making 4 stops at hotels to pick up and deliver, there were 7 stops made. We were the first to be picked up and did not get done picking everyone up for an hour and a half. This delayed starting the activities and made the delivery of everyone back to their hotels very late also. The activities themselves were interesting enough.Written October 20, 2024
- Sherpa777080 contributionsSee the sightsWe got to see the main attractions in Rio which we enjoyed. Our guide was good and provided history of various sites. The van was terrible with very uncomfortable seats and no step stool for getting in and out which was an issue for many. It’s a good way to see everything in the city. The meal was okay.Written October 13, 2024
- valeriej0hns0n0 contributionsInformative boat trip round bayGood tour of guanabara Bay and specific landmarks. Good information provided in 3 languages. Spoiled by people standing and taking selfies. Didn't see the relevance of getting close to one of the party boats to wave to people.Written October 13, 2024
- aaronvG482QC0 contributionsOrganized, efficient, FUN, and excellent guides! This is a highly recommended company to assist in your adventure in Rio. We did a full day tour with C2Rio and it went so incredibly well, we booked another adventure with them before we left. Our guide for the full day tour of Rio, Matheus, was absolutely fantastic. He definitely knew his stuff, had great connections at each destinations, kept the group engaged and connected, and we all had a magnificent time!Written October 9, 2024

- nataliell19820 contributionsGreat tour for first timers! This is a great tour to explore the major sights of the city in one day! João was our very knowledgeable and friendly guide who shared so much of Rio's history and other interesting facts with us. He managed our group very well, especially in terms of switching between Portuguese, Spanish, and English. The lunch was great too with lots of variety. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Rio for the first time.Written October 4, 2024

- Rach1070 contributionsSuch a disappointment! We chose the half day tour for a reason, as we wanted to concentrate our limited time on Christ the Redeemer and the Selaron Stairs. Instead of running the half day tour as booked, we were 'upgraded' to the full day tour without prior warning HOWEVER, we were not allowed to join the lunch nor Sugar Loaf and instead of dropping us back to the hotel, they wanted us to get an Uber back after the stairs. It was a complete shambles, as we were rush viewing the two attractions we were interested in, for the wider group to view other attractions such as the outside of the football stadium! Such a disappointment for our first day in Rio!Written September 24, 2024
- Sunshine296537867010 contributionsA wonderful tour with a likewise guide and driverCarlos Adriano is a kind, accommodating and impressive polyglot. A knowledgeable guide he made this tour memorable and enjoyable. He has the patience of a Saint. For all walks of life, families, couples, solo travelers and elder couples, he is most highly recommended. The driver Pedro too, was excellent and generous with even allowing me to charge my phone in his van outlet!Written September 24, 2024

The tour was really nice and value for money with all the must go sites in Rio visited within a half-day tour. Two thumbs also for our guide Sir Joao who spoke three languages to accommodate all of us in the tour. He was very good and well-versed of Rio and made us enjoy the entire tour. This tour is highly recommended.

Our guide Renato was very personable and knowledgeable about Rio and Brazilian history. The information he provided as we were driving to each stop benefitted the experience. Our group was comprised of English and French speakers, and Renato spoke both well. He kept us on schedule and we arrived at the top of Sugar Loaf with enough time to walk around and enjoy the view before the sunset. The sunset was spectacular, and the lighting of the lagoon afterward at dusk, and as the city lights begin to light up, was spectacular. This tour is a very informative and time-efficient way to see some of the key highlights of Rio without the loss of time from trying to drive or Uber around to them on our own, with the benefit of a superb Brazilian guide, to talk to about anything and everything.

I think if most of the tickets entrance were to be already purchased by the tour guide it would be better, as we have waited a lot for these tickets to be bought at the time. As a pre-paid tour I felt a little bit annoyed by that, I felt unfair to pre-pay and still have to wait for the tour guide to buy the tickets.
The tour guide was nice but he walks very quickly and sometimes we couldn’t pick up the pace.
Also, we didn’t end up watching the sunset because we didn’t have the tickets and had to wait at least 20 minutes in the queue for our guide to purchase the tickets, which technically we have already pre-paid them for.

I felt like the tour was a little poorly planned. First, the tour said it was picking me up at 1:20. They didn’t show up until 2pm. Once at Christ Redeemer, the tour guide left us in the middle of an incredibly crowded and chaotic gift shop. Hundreds of people pushing and shoving! She went to go get tickets and made no indication as to when she would return. She was gone nearly an hour. It was ridiculous. Frankly, the tour guide was incredibly disorganized and had a hard time keeping everyone together. From the time we left the hotel to the end of the Christ Redeemer, 3.5hrs passed. We ended up having to wait a while for the tour bus to pick us back up at Christ Redeemer. Sunset had come and gone. We would not see the sunset on Sugarloaf Mountain. This was VERY disappointing as this is what we all were wanting to see! Once we got to Sugarloaf Mountain at 6pm, it was closed and we were not even allowed up. Instead we were offered to go the next day or get a portion of our money back. I did think the tour guide was very nice and fun, but ultimately, I was super disappointed in this tour and do not recommend.

Really enjoyed this tour. Arrived in Rio to join a cruise and this tour was one of the only ways we could get to see anything on our brief visit of this spectacular city. Our guide, Priscilla, was excellent and made the tour fascinating. Her skills in multiple languages meant she embraced the whole group making sure everyone was happy. Thoroughly recommended if you have only one day in Rio.

My sisters and I really enjoyed our tour! Alexia and Berlin were amazing tour guides. We had fun, and they did a great job giving us the history of each site we visited. The BBQ lunch was one of the best meals we had on our trip. I would recommend being ready and at your pick-up location 10 minutes prior to pick-up time so there are no issues being at the train station on time. This tour was definitely worth it and you'll be able to see all the historical sites in Rio !

Our guide, Manuel (he of the twirly moustache) picked us up at 1pm.
There were only 13 of us on the minibus (capacity 19) and he only had to make announcements in English and Spanish, both of which he has excellent grasp of. (My wife speaks Spanish so was able to judge).
Visits to Christ the Redeemer, the Cathedral, the Tiled Steps and of course, Sugarloaf at sunset.
Manuel is Rio born so knows the city inside out and gave us very good information and was available at all the stops to take our photographs.
Back at the hotel at 8.20, exhausted, but a cracking day out.

This tour was worth every penny. It is run by C2Rio Tours. We were in a small van. I believe there were 14 members of our group plus the tour guide and the bus driver. We fit comfortably in the van. Our guide, Sena (sp?), spoke excellent english, although the driver only spoke Portuguese. He was very helpful, especially for those of us who don't get around all that well.
Sena provided us with wonderful information about the neighborhoods we passed through on the way to our various stops, as well as outstanding information about the sites we visited. It was a perfect day to visit Christ the Redeemer statue. We had plenty of time to explore it. The Seleron steps are beautiful, and the individual tiles are amazing. The stop at the church was short, but we had time to take pictures of its architecture. The final stop, Sugarloaf, with the two cable car rides was exciting, and the view from the top of the city was fantastic.
The only issues we had were outside the tour compay's control. It was Saturday, and there were three cruise ships in town. That meant lots of stop and go traffic and huge crowds at each stop. The lines were so long at Sugarloaf that we waited an hour to get to the first cable car. It effectively turned our sunset tour of it into a night time one. I'm not complaining because the city lights provided a new perspective on Rio de Janeiro. If you can, however, try the tour on a weekday to get the sunset.

We booked this experience from India, not knowing what to expect, but I must say, we are beyond impressed with the service. Alexia, our tour guide, kept us well-informed about the itinerary and upcoming tours. We visited Christ the Redeemer, the Selarón Steps, and caught the sunset at Sugarloaf Mountain.
There were tourists from all over—Europe, India, the US, Uruguay—and Alexia greeted each of us in our own languages. She was incredibly funny, keeping us entertained throughout the journey, and her knowledge of local history added so much to each visit. It felt like she knew everyone everywhere, making the process seamless, especially since she already had all the tickets prepared.
A huge shout-out to Alexia and George, our driver—an amazing duo!
