You tour begins at your Rio de Janeiro hotel, where you’ll board an air-conditioned vehicle destined for the Tijuca Forest. After a short drive to the national park, you’ll disembark your vehicle and begin a moderate 40-minute hike to the summit of Pedra Bonita Mountain. Trek through dense forest flora until you’re rewarded with panoramic vistas of Barra de Tijuca beaches and the Gavea Rock. See, too, stunning views of Ipanema Beach and Sugar Loaf Mountain from the Chinese View, home to a Chinese-style gazebo. Then, after descending the mountainside, refresh mind and body in a Tijuca Forest waterfall. Your tour then concludes with drop-off at your Rio de Janeiro hotel.
Despite finding the hike tricky in places, the view at the top more than made up for it. Our guide, Bruno, was happy to go at our pace and wanted us to enjoy the experience of being in the forest. We stopped a few times...More
