Really fun trip! Our host Martin was very knowledgeable, very punctual and entertaining. We learnt a lot not only in the Tijuca forest but he even showed us interesting sights on the way. Martin even encouraged/helped us take lots of pictures at scenic spots. We didn’t get to properly stop as the Chinese Vista because it was too foggy. The only thing I would change is that I would have liked to hike for longer as we only walked for about 30-45mins. Very easy walk - suitable for kids and adults alike.

The overall experience was 5/5… the guide was amazing; informative; fun
The reason I rated it a 4/5 was the pickup was almost 30 min late and we (2) were the last of 10! people in the back of the ride.. there was seats for 10 but were sized for children … not 10 adults.. felt packed -shoulder to shoulder and knee to knee…for a bouncy curvy ride
great scenery; amazing views; would do again except maybe 8 people for that size ride

It was not what we expected. We expected more exposure to the forest. We were picked up by the tour company around 08.45 am. There were some more people who were being picked up on the way to the national forest. By the time we left the city, it was 09.15 am. It took us another 45 minutes to get to the entrance of the forest area. We were shown the main things till 12.15. And then we were on our way back to the drop off points. So almost 1 hour 45 minutes out of 4 hours were spent actually getting to and fro from the forest.

This was an overall good experience but has potential to improve. Our tour guide was great and spoke 4 languages very well but the tour was a mix of languages so she had to repeat herself multiple times which meant she didn’t have a lot of time to explain things. It would be cool if they consolidated tours by language so we could communicate with other passengers. It would also be nice if the guide had a speaker in the vehicle because it was hard to hear over the engine. The tour was otherwise nice, relaxing to ride around and see the scenery and the walks were very easy. We did not see much wild life, a couple of birds and a handful of butterflies but yeah, overall nice.

Dear Hijones445, Thank you for your review! The mix of people from different places surely keep the tour interesting! We are really glad you had a good experience with us. The tour is normally delivered in 2 or three languages but on some days there might be more. We normally consolidate languages in different languages, but it will always depend on the number of people, languages, etc we have each day. Do note that the guides are trained to give the necessary amount of information in all languages, the difference when there are less languages, is that you get more time in between commentary. If any information was not able to be shared in all languages during the drive, it will surely be shared in the stops that the tour makes. In regards to the animals, it will vary how many you get to see, as they might be more or less inclined to show up depending on the weather and the temperature as well as time of day. We will make note of your suggestions. Thanks, best regards,

We loved the jeep and our tour guide/driver was great. The only downside is that due to COVID, the jeeps can't go into the rainforest so you have to walk. I wish we would have known that prior to the tour because we booked this for a more relaxing day and ended up walking a lot!

Our jeep tour hike with Carlos was spectacular. They picked us up at our hotel on time and away we went. It was thrilling and amazing seeing the city through an open Jeep. The hike was about 4 or 5 miles in total, but was a steep incline for a good chunk of time, so wear appropriate shoes. The views at the stops of the hike were so beautiful. Carlos our tour guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, and has a true love for Rio. We talked to local bikers at the stops and even had a monkey join us! Overall it was an amazing hike and fun jeep ride. Thank you Carlos and driver for making our day special and memorable!

Firstly you don’t need a Jeep for this trip as we didn’t go off road. The hikes were very short and nothing special reminded me of the forests in Cyprus. And I thought the guide was a bit cheeky as she kept hinting about giving tips at the end of the journey. Which on the other tours we went they didn’t ask and because of that we tipped.

Dear Roam542644, Thank you for your review. The use of the Jeep is because it allows for open top views and just experiencing the weather. All paths used are paved roads. The beauty of the forest is often complimented by guests from all over the world, but it may be less appealing if you have similar surroundings back home or at a place you have recently visited. We do advertise short hikes. If you are looking for longer hiking we do offer some options which include extensive hiking. In regards to tipping, it might be mention by the guide, but it is clear that it is optional. This vary from culture to culture, but we make sure to tell guides that they can mention gratuities if they want to, in a way that makes it clear that it is optional and then the client can decide if they give them or not. Thank you again for your review. We are sorry that the rainforest wasn't as impressive as you were hoping. Best regards, Pedro Malta on behalf of Diogo M.

I found the Tour Guide to be off-putting as he asked/complained (in a passive aggressive way) about us staying far away (Hilton Barra), and he did it a couple of times. It's our first time in Brazil, so we didn't know where we were staying was inconvenient for a pick-up.

Dear Encouragement8, Thank you for your review! If possible please send us booking information so we can look into this and talk to the guide. The guide should not have made such comments and we apologize on his behalf.
