Built on the Paraná River near the border between Brazil and Paraguay, the Itaipu Dam is the largest operational hydroelectric power plant in the world. On this panoramic sightseeing tour from Foz do Iguaçu, you’ll tour this engineering marvel, which generates a power of 12,600 megawatts, approximately 25% of the electricity consumed by Brazil and 95% of the energy consumed by Paraguay. Your guided sightseeing tour gives you an up-close view of the Itaipu Dam and offers you the chance to take some great photos! Your knowledgeable guide will be happy to answer any questions you may have. On this tour you will do the Panoramic Tour. As the ticket is not included, you will pay for it on the spot.: * The Panoramic tour : Watch a documentary film on the power plant. See the dam and spillway from the central observation deck (without entering the facility). The grandeur of a plant built between two countries, when revealed in numbers, is surprising: the Itaipu dam is 7,919 meters long and 196 meters high. But when viewed from close up and from various angles in a tour around the Itaipu Panoramic, it impresses even more and guarantees a unique and striking experience. In addition to the privileged view of the spillway at the top of the dam, the path still allows contact with nature and beautiful landscapes within the Itaipu Tourist Complex. * The Technical tour cannot be done in this tour.

What a great trip to Iguazu!
We had a fantastic trip to the Argentina side of the falls. Our guide Eli was great throughout- she picked us up on time, and dealt with the border crossing and the timings of each section of the park so we could just enjoy the beautiful falls.

Must see from both sides and do the river boat ride!
Enrique was excellent! Brazil side is better than Argentina side. Do the river ride too! BLUE upper trail is ok, but if you don't have time, can be missed.

What a fantastic tour! 12/10 would recommend to anyone visiting the Iguazú Falls. The tour was well scheduled and really took advantage of the beauty between both Argentine and Brazilian sides of the falls. I had a lovely time and would recommend this 120%!!!

I had a great guide. She was willing to work with me regarding a change of plans. She was very genuine and nice. The boat ride was amazing. We did donuts in the river and then got very close to the falls. You do get Wet. The falls are so powerful and loud. They are magnificent!

Great one day tour to see Iguazu waterfalls in both Brazil side and Argentina side.
This tour gave us a chance to see Iguazu waterfalls on both Brazil side and Argentina side. I like the tour because we can see amazing views in one day and the tour guide saved us a lot of time. We do not need to wait in a long line to pass the customs and to enter the park. The tour guide Henrique speaks fluent English and organized the tour well. We visited all the viewpoints and took pictures well in the planned time frame. I strongly recommend you take this tour if you’re going to see a full view of Iguazu falls.

          Iguazú Falls Brazilian Side
The Brazilian side offers breathtaking views, and the helicopter ride was incredibly scenic. Everyone had a window seat, allowing us to capture some fantastic photos. The safari was enjoyable, with a diverse array of birds to observe. However, the boat ride was undoubtedly the highlight. It was an absolute blast, and they even drove us into the falls, soaking us all to the bone. It was an unforgettable experience. Mauricio was an exceptional tour guide. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and explained everything in detail. He didn’t rush us or pressure us into doing anything. Instead, he patiently guided us through the entire experience, providing us with all the necessary information and assistance. Mauricio was truly a valuable asset to our tour.

Great day visiting both sides of the falls!
Our tour for just the 2 of us was with Maycon; he was a fabulous guide full of interesting facts and answered all our questions! There had been torrential rain for 24hrs so Devil’s Throat was shut sadly, but the falls were overwhelming and so full and spectacular. We saw both sides and both were amazing - definitely recommended:)

          Great preparation and tour execution
The tour was well organised, great communication and very clear. Our tour guide Roberto was fantastic, good storytelling, knowledgeable, well equipped, even first aid, water for the group and rain coat. Despite heavy rain and bad weather he encouraged us to go with trail and I felt very safe. The experience was amazing. Would definitely recommend to take the tour and relay on your tour guide.

Definitely need to see both sides, and this tour will do it!
The guide, Mr. Brhenno, was one of the best: funny, full of historical stories, was always pointing out interesting features and animals, and was flexible to the interests of the group. Seeing both sides of the falls is recommended (personally, I preferred the Brazilian side), and it is so much easier with this efficiently run organization.

          Best day out ever!!
This is a brilliant tour. I think it would be impossible to self-guide a one day trip seeing both sides of the falls and taking the optional boat trip under the falls. The guys at Gray Line know how to make the most of the day. And what a day it is - the falls are the most amazing thing any of us have ever seen - we were blown away. I won't post photos as you don't need to - there are thousands online. Look at them and know that basically you will see all of that and more. It's not a cheap day out after the park passes, the boat trip and out of pocket expenses - but it's absolutely worth every penny. Strongly recommended.

          Great experience!
Wow...these guys where the best. We had booked this trip a year ago. These last 2 weeks my father in law became less and less mobile. When we got to Foz we started to learn about the work that it takes to go to visit the Water falls. My father in law was not hoing to be able. So these guys last minute changed everything for us. They ended up fibdibg a wheelchair, our tour became private and one of the guides pushed him all the way to the platform in front of the Devil's Throat. He had a lot of fun. We went with the other guide on the trail and it was fascinating! We all met later. The guides get you in front of the lines everywhere. Getting a guide if you are an elderly or have one with you is the way to go. These guys will adapt and make your visit very pleasureble. Things I learned about Foz. Both sides on the Falls is a very , very long day and unless you are young or in very good shape skip and do on 2 days. The Brazilian side is nicer than the Argentinian. You see more beauty. The Brazilisn side you see from the front and in the Argentinian side you will see from above. Also Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil meet so your trip can be much more than just the falls. Plan well, read well before you go and contract these guys for your tour!

This is a good place to visit if you have several days in Foz. I did like that we were on a few buses within the park, and that you get a very good view of the dam. It is the largest dam we have ever visited. They have a good souvenir shop also.

Don't miss if you have enough time in Iguazu fall. This would be a half day trip.

Don't book this tour. All they provide is transportation which you can book yourself.

We had a horrible experience. A driver from Grey Line tours met us and took us to the Itaipu Dam, but once we go there, we were told that we did not have tickets.

Itaipu staff are great people and did a lot of legwork for us. We speak Italian, Spanish, and English, but not Portuguese, so the staff called trip advisor and Grey Line tours and confirmed very bad news for us. They confirmed that Trip Advisor does not do business with anyone named Gray Line. They also confirmed that the 252.30 Brazilian Real that we paid for this trip (about $66) was only for the transportation from the hotel to the dam.

We are working with our bank to get the 252.30 Real refunded. We were forced to buy our own tickets. We took an Uber back to the hotel for less than $4, as it was only 8km.

Somehow we were taken advantage of. Perhaps you can help us rectify this situation.

        Thanks,

It is an awesome place to visit. It is pretty impressive! It is the second largest Dam in the world, however it is the one that produces the more power than any other. I recommend the tour. loved it and I also learned a lot from the tour guides.

It is the second most fascinating attraction in Foz, second only to the Falls, they are always friendly, polite, priority for disabled and elderly people works and the Itaipu Iluminada tour is incredible, it is always worth it, it was my second visit with my mother and kids and they loved it, the musical show that precedes it is anthology. Looking at Itaipu as an engineering work is brilliant, not only technically but also in terms of the logistics of the place, first world!
