- Dan B00Belo Horizonte to Ouro Preto - private tour (A+)Severin at KOPA tours recently stepped up to arrange a fantastic private transport from Belo Horizonte and a guided tour in Ouro Preto. The experience was well worth it and we enjoyed every minute of the day. Would highly recommend KOPA tours for anyone who is looking for an experienced stress free way to tour in the area.
- M3718WKvales00Architectural insight of Belo HorizonteThe tour was great. We had a really good time with Lianne. She added so much to the tour with background information about architecture and Brazilian culture. And, she introduced us to the Brazilian's love of cheese buns and good coffee!! Lianne also gave us tips on other things to do around where we were staying in Lagoa Santa (Lapinha caves and museum).
- anaboehm00Fun, Fact-filled Tour of Belo HorizonteKopa Turismo gave us a fun, insightful tour of Belo Horizonte. I highly recommend an initial tour of the city for all travelers to BH, for both those with short or long-term stay plans. A tour by a knowledgeable guide, like Kopa Turismo, gives you an initial exposure to most of the highlights of the city, which you can then later explore in more depth on subsequent days as you wish.
- shuvamia100Excellent travel agency in Minas Gerais BrazilI booked a 4 days private tour for 4 people in Minas Gerais with Kopa travel agency ,located in Belo Horizonte,Brazil. The quality of the tour was outstanding. The itinerary, the guide, the driver and all the other arrangements were excellent. I also would like to recommend the smooth communication with Kopa rep in their office.
- Marny R00Great historic knowledgeI had a city tour in Belo Horizonte, especially at Pampulha, which is wonderful, and a tour to Ouro Preto and Mariana with Severin. His knowledge of the history of Brazil and Minas Gerais in particular is a terrific bonus to the tours. I learned a lot in a very short time, and his knowledge brought the places alive for me. I highly recommend Kopa's tours to anyone visiting the area.
- svettbaeva00Worth a visitIf you're into photography there's so many opportunities to capture wonderful images of wild nature. Very large area with trees, waterfall and birds and also some small animals such as capybara and monkeys.Kayaking is strongly recommended. Best to go on a sunny day. Many sincere thanks to our guide, great work, Severin!
- freehope00Excellent City Tour in EnglishI was looking for a last minute tour in English and Kopa was very responsive. They were willing to customize the tour a bit upon request as well. It was nice to be driven around as advertised, answering questions about Belo Horizonte and the architecture, history etc.
- toto197200PerfectWe used KOPA turismo for airport tranfers between Belo Horizonte airport and Ouro Preto and everything went smoothly: they were on time (one transfer was very early in the morning, we left at 05h30 am). Severin knows very well the region and gave us many tips and recommendations. I strongly recommend this travel agency.
- Jenny W00Excellent guide in Minas GeraisI had a specific reason for visiting Minas Gerais, which was to track down the place where my grandparents had lived and worked over 100 years ago. Severin was my guide during the week that I was there although I had built in some days to myself to explore. He met me at the bus station at Belo Horizonte and immediately showed an interest in my trip. I gave him the name of the place where my grandparents had lived and two days later he brought some information about the place that he had gleaned from the internet. He spent two whole days with me: one in Ouro Preto and Mariana and the other day was spent tracking down the place where my grandparents had lived. He had already found out quite a lot about the area so knew how to go about finding out more. By the end of that day he had managed to find a man who knew about the mine and also knew about my grandfather's colleague who worked with him on the project. It turned out that this local man's great grandparents knew my grandparents, and we visited the fazenda that his great grandparents had built and where they had entertained my grandparents. It was truly amazing, and without Sev's help I wouldn't have achieved that. Sev is very knowledgeable about the area and was full of interesting information . He is flexible and easy going. It was a very special and memorable visit.
- michaelorde00Minas Gerais tourWe were trying to fit a couple of days in Minas Gerais after the Paralympics Opening Ceremony in Rio and before returning to Rio to watch the equestrian part of the games. Severin was easy to deal with and very flexible, picking us up from the airport at Belo Horizonte, delivering uu to Ouro Preto with helpful hints on how to get the most from our visit. He then took us on to Inhotim, leaving us there for the day before collecting us in time to get back for our evening flight to Rio. Throughout our travels, Severin was full of information about life in Brazil in general and in Minas Gerais in particular, making the whole trip all the more interesting.
- pam B00Fun English Language City TourWe decided to add a city tour to our Belo Horizonte itinerary at the last minute. Severin at Kopo Tourismo wrote back quickly and we set it all up (they offer tours to many locations in Minas Gerais). Our guide was Christina and she was really fun. She really loves her city! We we able to see quite a bit in one day, and Christina was really helpful in giving us suggestions for other things we could do. Other tour companies never wrote me back or took many days to respond, so if you want a quick response, this is a good compamy.

Kopa Turismo represented the best of professionalism, indepth subject-matter expertise, and courtesy: I couldn't recommend them more highly. I would also seriously recommend this tour on a Sunday if you want to include history, beauty, AND shopping. Ouro Preto has a really nice Sunday arts and crafts market where I bought absolutely gorgeous icons and platters carved in soapstone - the very stone used in the carvings of many of the colonial churches there and elsewhere in Minas Gerais. What a lovely trip.

This was a great day tour. I was a bit uncertain when I booked it because the description of the activity on Viator/TripAdvisor was very basic and didn't do it any justice, I wasn't even sure if I was getting a guide or simply transportation with free time in the two towns - but I'm glad we went ahead. Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and accompanied us every minute of the day (including lunch in a delicious local restaurant), sharing his knowledge and love of the places and the history with us. It was a perfect balance of seeing a lot (3 churches, two museums, a mine) without rushing too much, and learning about all the key highlights.

POUSO JARDIN de ASSIS
This is a small, 4 b’rm , B&B, that was an excellent choice for my wife and I. Right To the private gated parking to the porter who assisted us, the location was fantastic.
The rooms were nice size with a queen bed and ample, “real”, pillows.
The bathroom was well appointed with a modern large rainstorm shower head. The water pressure was a bit low, but that did not take away from the experience.
There was a very good continental style breakfast with fresh cut local fruit and juice. Fresh home baked bread and French style rolls and along with homemade jams and jelly. Coffee was fresh Brazilian, hand dripped. Perfect!
They have a beautiful comfortable patio with great Mountain-views.
The city proper of Ouro Preto, an old, historic city, with narrow cobblestone streets, 80 Km NE of Belohorizonte. It is situated in the center of the state of Minas Gerais and is often considered the beginning of Brazil. In the 1700’s it was settled by immigrants from Portugal, drawn by gold and precious gems. They influenced the architecture and society and built many churches, using their artistry with gold leaf everywhere.
The Mineira cuisine is very good, with quality and variety, from small eateries to fine dining with traditional Brazilian as well as, International food.
Pictured is a Grilled Seafood w Ink-stained pasta, my personal favorite.
There were a number of tours of the city and surrounding villages using covered but open 4wheel drive vehicles to navigate the mountainous terrain. The tours are priced according to length of time of the chosen tour.
Overall, Ouro Preto is an excellent choice if you are looking for a truly historic Brazilian experience.
