The history of the City of São Salvador of Bahia has cultural wealth inherited from African peoples as one of its main features. Through centuries of struggle, the culture's ancestors needed to assert their faith in African gods, and a new religious structure known as Candomblé emerged. This consisted of an African-Brazilian religion of worship to the Orixas, a living manifestation of the resilience and the spiritual strength of Africans and their descendants in Brazil.
Orixas,Inquices and Voduns are all African gods who crossed the seas and sustained their devotees' spirits in overcoming obstacles amidst the torments inflicted by slavery.Come and respectfully immerse in this universe of faith, in order to experience such manifestation of ancestral religiosity. At night when women and men summon the gods to earth through their rituals, rhythms, songs, colors, food, and their reverence, this is the strongest and most important moment of the Afro-Brazilians. The Orixas accept the invitation, and these gods dance, celebrate and bless their people. Through a Candomblé ceremony, we have the privilege to feel the force of nature divine celebrate among us.
The itinerary is prepared by a member of this religion, aiming to provide you the opportunity to witness the most beautiful legacy left by our African ancestors in the New World.
