About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- William G0 contributionsAbsolutely fantastic day spent in ManausDaniel (our guide) was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the city and the history was amazing. Highly recommendedWritten January 18, 2025
- KA900 contributionsUnfair between groups, inexperienced guides, and not a peaceful nature experience.Unfortunately we have to review this low due to our personal experience. I feel it may have been different with another group or more experienced guide. Our drive to the site was not good. We were squashed into a small car with 2 tourists from Brazil. The driver spoke in Portuguese constantly for the entire 50min drive. He did not stop talking once. I love experiencing other cultures and always respect a country's languages, but I was not expecting 50min of non-stop portuguese when booking an English tour. Once there, the inequity began. Our tour was split into group A and B. Group A were with the main guide and got to leave first for every activity which was the most frustrating with the dolphin experience as they got an extra ~40min with the dolphins. We left 10min after group A, had to drop people off back at the dock, and then our engine broke down twice. It broke down a further 2 times during the day. Group B was us (2) and a group of 5 travelling together. The group of 5 were very inconsiderate and took over the tour which our 2 very young guides did nothing to stop. Towards the sunset, 9hrs into the tour, we had had enough and asked the group to please not fly their noisy drone during the sunset. The guide continued to let them fly their drone, even antagonisticly above our heads and laughing. We had to watch the best part of the sunset with a constant whizzing above. This caused a huge fight on the boat. We got to enjoy a few minutes of quiet at the very end, but we were angry and very upset by that point. After everyone calmed down, the guide asked us to apologise to each other like we were children. He should have never let it get to that point. You go to the Amazon for peace and nature, not for a group of 5 to take over the tour, be inconsiderate to other guests, speak disrespectfully about the portuguese language, bomb dive and wrestle eachother off the deck into the water, disregard safety rules, commander the space on the boat, and fly their nosiy whizzing drone above our heads. At no point in our 12hour day did the guide ask them to stop or even just to tone it down. It actually seemed like the guide was encouraging the group of 5 to take up space for their pictures and use their drone to capture videos for social media. I overheard that the footage was going to be shared with the company, so perhaps we were unfortunately mistreated because the other guests had bargained a deal for the footage. Pros: - We enjoyed the 2hr walk and learnt a lot. - Good food for lunch. - I caught a piranha - Once we eventually got there, the pink dolphins were huge and amazing. Very inequitable tour between the groups and not the fun peaceful experience we were hoping for in this beautiful place.Written January 18, 2025
- 720marcelaa0 contributionsUnique experiencesOur English-speaking guide was friendly, but he appeared relatively young and seemed to lack experience in conducting tours. With time and the opportunity to receive constructive feedback, his skills will undoubtedly improve. Overall, the tour was enjoyable. The walk uphill to the ruins, though short, was quite hot. It would have been helpful to receive a reminder to apply mosquito repellent beforehand. Coming from a much colder climate to this hot environment on our first day in town, we found the speed walking to the ruins a bit challenging. This was done to stay on schedule and meet another group, which unfortunately left little time for us to adjust. While the guide made lighthearted jokes about our need for breaks during the walk, they felt somewhat ill-timed given the circumstances. That said, the visit to the tribe and the excellent lunch at the floating restaurant were highlights of the experience. Seeing the river dolphins was truly unique and made for a memorable day. Oh and the fish farm was a lot of fun, getting to feed the huge fish was a highlight for all of us.Written December 26, 2024
- 334juna0 contributionsFantastic FabioOur guide Fabio was fantastic. He managed well for all the situations nature giving. Food was good and the room was more than I expected. I truly recommend this tour and will be back again in May.Written December 21, 2024
- Dainius670 contributionsGreat tour with Milton and Fabio! As we were looking for a 1 night tour with seeing as much as possible - this tour suited us very well. Tour organizer Milton Fernandes was very helpful. We were glad to meet tour guide Fabio, we learned a lot about the Amazon forest, changes between the dry and rainy seasons, got acquainted with flora and fauna (a bit :) ), etc. His sister was preparing simple, but very delicious food. We wish him all the best with his plans! So, if you have just a couple of days for Amazon and want to see what is possible, this tour is for you.Written November 20, 2024
- jodiannk20220 contributionsFun and memorable day in the AmazonHad a fun time with our tour guide Fabio. Took a nice hike in the jungle, long boat ride and swam with the dolphins. Lunch was excellent and even the fishing which I'm not a fan of, was fun. Great experience and worthwhile for those who can't spend days in the Amazon.Written November 20, 2024
- Chris I0 contributionsGreat TourThis day was packed with great activities. As a regular traveler who does these kinds of things, this was way above average for sure.Written November 11, 2024
- 896rajeevs0 contributionsAwesome tour - hard to beat !This tour is awesome and couldn't get better than this ! Special shout out to our tour guide Fabinho! a great guide who knows the jungle inside out. He really took care of us and making sure we were comfortable at every step. The lunch at the boathouse was awesome and is made fresh in camping style. Plenty of water provided...you'll need plenty too :). Milton our tour operator was excellent and very knowledgeable, he picked and dropped us off from hotel. We were looking to buy some water bottle on our way back ..Milton was kind enough and provided us with extra water bottles. Overall a memorable experience with a great tour operator.Written November 3, 2024
- 896rajeevs0 contributionsMust do tour when in ManausA amazing day on river Rio Negro ! Be prepared to ride over 70 miles on the river. The tour operators do a phenomenal job in getting their client the best experience. Our guide Dennis was great. The itinerary of the tour is very well developed and provides a great experience all day long. Plenty of bottled water and an excellent lunch is included.Written November 3, 2024
- he_man_o0 contributionsOk day trip, very eye opening.overall it was an ok trip, but it has some disappointing aspects. pickup by milton was smooth and on time at 8, also picked a couple up on the way so it was a tiny group of 3. milton was very nice and friendly. he dropped us off at harbor where we met our boat driver and guide for the day (prepare a tips for each if you can). they both did a good job on the tour. first we did swimming with dolphins which was nice. there are changing rooms at the facility and i was able to keep my bag / wallet in the boat. this was the first bathroom stop if you need, arrived there around 9:15. there is a submerged platform you can stand on where the feeding/baiting happens, but you can also swim out. the dolphins are not shy and will brush across your legs and body to get to the food. this is the best look at them you will get. then we did a village stop, where locals performed some dances and music. half the performers looked pretty bored and unmotivated. they have souvenir stalls all around the main room and they do take credit cards but the prices were more than 2x the souvenir shop you stop at during lunch, so despite wanting to support locals, I definitely do not recommend shopping here. they also do group picture with each visitor. then they will show you a table with some local food like smoked and boiled fish, some cut up fruit, yuca, yams, bamboo, and ants you can sample. also drinks you can buy. tip basket on the side. hygiene is very questionable here and the knife they were using to cut the fruit looked very dirty. also several people from the culture show had immediately changed into their casual clothes, breaking the immersion. then we went to a floating lunch buffet place. good lunch, scary bathrooms, lovely views, huge souvenir shop attached. lots of the same souvenirs as in manaus or from the previous stop. credit card machines available. then we went to the lily pads lake and jungle hike which was very disappointing. Per website description "After lunch we'll visit the lake of the Water Lilies to take some pictures and enjoy the amazing landscape." they only tell you on the way that unfortunately the lake is now completely dry and the lily pads are all dead. this should be made clear up front in the description. it felt dishonest. the walk to the lookout was less than 5 min and had no interesting views. instead you will dock on a beach completely covered with washed up garbage. kids will run towards you with captured animals like monkeys, sloth, macaws, for photo-ops (20 reals per animal). the guide warned us about this ahead of time, which I appreciated it. but it was still heartbreaking to see the distressed captured animals. the sloth was young and clearly crying and terrified. animal exploitation is a very ugly look. but most alarming of all was getting off the boat and onto the shore while there was sharp broken glass everywhere, very easy to trip and fall on to. especially for the couple with us who only had flip-flops. maybe not a problem doing the wet season. i do not understand why we did this stop as it took away a lot more than it added. the white sand beach activity was also not possible during the dry season but at least i knew because i asked before booking. then we went to another floating village to play-fish with pirarucu, which was nice. they had a macaw on the property but please don't scream at the macaw like some of the other idiot tourists were doing while also recording. then we went to the meeting of the water which was really nice. though on a separate tour i got a much better look at it, so your mileage may vary. the rides up and down the river were my favorite and you see how life here has completely adapted to the amazon river environment. the trash everywhere was really sad, the village and lily pad stops were disappointing. overall ok tour that was quite eye opening.Written October 13, 2024
- 822eleanorg0 contributionsGreat experience with guide Fabinho! We had a great time with guide Fabinho. He was very kind, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The communication prior to the tour was great and Milton was happy to answer any questions. Being in a small group like this tour was really nice and I would really recommend this over some of the mass tourism options out there. Everything we did was as described in the itinerary but a highlight was definitely the sunset and seeing the caimans in the dark on the way back. Would definitely recommend this tour!Written October 11, 2024
- Dross180 contributionsBrilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! The high spot of my trip to the amazon! having been sorely disappointed with a trip on the Grand Amazon expedition boat by Iberostar, this more than made up for 3 days of disappointment. It did what it said it would and did not fail to deliver. our Guide was wonderful and she was well versed in all of the activities. Milton was a star and could not have been more helpful. My only regret is that I did not do the jungle tour with him. it was all very well executed. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to a have a full experience with little time available.Written October 5, 2024
- charlieo1220 contributionsMust do in ManausI contacted this company to inquire about the river day tour and swim with the dolphins online. Milton responded promptly with prices and confirmed my reservation. He contacted me by WhatsApp the day before the tour to provide pick-up time and other information. We were picked up at the hotel on time and were driven to the boat dock. The caption and guide were both excellent. They took us safely around Rio Negro. The boat was clean and well maintained. Lunch was included. The buffet was quite good. This full day tour is excellent. They delivered as promised. No hidden fees. A must do when visiting in Manaus.Written September 26, 2024
- Donna R0 contributionsSimply magicalFrom start to end this was an amazing experience for the day. I stuffed up and got my dates wrong. Milton was very accommodating and came to get me anyway to join the trip. We had a swim with the pink dolphins in the wild they just came to us. They seem to love humans even though they are the apex predator in the Amazon. No fear of piranha in the water as they stay away from the dolphins. Had a lovely lunch at a floating restaurant. Tried fishing picarucu at a fish farm ( species of prehistoric fish) no hook just bait no pain for the fish. Saw stilted village floating village meet with indigenous people in their malacca, ending the day at the meeting of the waters. Really well organised with lovely Christina our guide for the day. Couldn’t have asked for more it was magicalWritten September 24, 2024

Milton was a great guide and very friendly with excellent English. We drove to many of the key spots in Manaus and went inside the Opera House. He explained very well the details of the opera house. We visited the market and the riverside also and tried some AçaĂ. I took away a star as I thought it was quite expensive for a city tour but the tour itself was very good.

This is a very adult city. We stayed near the airport in a nice hotel and met the guide, driver with car, at the hotel. He spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about his city. We discovered that we did experience most everything to see in one afternoon. We also had him as a tour guide the next day and after seeing the opera house and opera square we had a complete tour. We asked to go to a mall as we wanted to buy soccer shirts from the local team; what a modern mall!. We left the city the day the first Virus case landed!! I would check closely to see the recovery rate of the city now from the virus.

First, we booked this 4-hour historical tour with Milton to visit the main attractions of the city (the opera house, the municipal market, and the city center surroundings). Milton is extremely knowledgeable about his city, very polite and was extremely patient about all our questions (and we had a lot of them!). We loved every second with him, and then we decided to hire Milton for the afternoon as well to go to MUSA, a nice local restaurant, and the next day to go the Museu do Seringal (where he took us in his boat, and it was so nice to learn about the rubber period of the city!). Milton was excellent! We couldn’t have chosen a better guide to learn about Manaus and its history.
