- Daniel M0 contributionsAbsolutely AmazingGreat experience, friendly guide and good food served! Going up and down the river was extremely relaxing, the feeling of being able to see the pink dolphins in their natural habitat and having them all around you can’t really be described, it was a dream come true!Written May 2, 2024

- Q3535IMjoyceb0 contributionstrip up the amazongo to Santarem on the ferry from Macapa across from Belem. You fly into it from Frans Guyana. The town is small and not so touristy as Manaus where I have not been. Fantastic market open around 4 am and you see the fishermen arrive and sell their goods. inexpensive hotels. There is a fresh water lake alter do chao I think it is called behind the town and I even went on the trans amazonica bus from there to Maraba. the whole journey 3 days and 2 nights and it cost me nothing as I was over 65. I just ate crackers and drank water and ate some fruit. The bus pulls up in a town and there is a dinner served in some ones house, but I did not want to get runs so i did not eat there. You saw huge trucks with lumber on them, but I had no camera to record it. . there is also a meeting of the water where the clear tapajos meets the amazon by santarem.Marco zero do equador is in Macapa.Latitude 0 00 00 longitude 51 05 15Written August 17, 2022
- RobEloi0 contributionsNo showTour company didn’t turn up, we only found out after we called them to find out where they were - they had cancelled the trip. We ended up booking a private trip with Louraturisto and that was great but we’d already wasted half our day.Written March 21, 2022
- vpossebom0 contributionsExcellent! This afternoon cruise in the Rio Negro was excellent! The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke Portuguese and English! Fishing Pirarucus in a environmentally friendly way was amazing! The meeting of the waters is gorgeous!Written January 13, 2020
- Violetvz0 contributionsGrand Iberostar CruiseThis was one of our highlights of our South America Tour. We boarded the Grand Iberostar ship in Manaus for 4 days of pure bliss! The cabins are roomy, comfortable and everything you need on hand. The food was out of this world! The presentation of food, the taste and the amazing service makes this fantastic! The staff were professional, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour!Written June 2, 2019
- ANGELA C0 contributionsExcellent overview of AmazonIf time is short as ours was this is certainly a good trip to view the meeting of the waters but if January Lake is not included not really worthwhile if you are on a cruise ship because you will see this phenomenon sailing down the Rio Negro into the Amazon anyway.Written March 17, 2019
- Adventure8004750 contributionsAwesome Experience with Rio Negro CruiseWe had 9 people, and we spent one full day on the cruise. We first went to see the pink dolphin and a Indians tribe. Then we went to see the place where the Black River and Amazon River merges with each other. We really like Indians dancing and singing performance. We didn't know the tour of the dolphins and Indians at first, but the tour company recommended it. We felt lucky that we added it in our tour.Written January 6, 2019
- F2632RHlisas0 contributionsOnce in a lifetime experienceIncredible very very lucky to come here vaccinations are needed but i had them done 2 months before coming incredible the staff and captain amazing friendly. Worth coming for the experience i spent 4 days in the amazon jungle. Incredible wildlife saw everything from wild dophins to piranhas to crocodiles snakes and stingrays ive not seen anything like it since . Word of warning its not safe to swim in or to eat food from there highly polluated went past some tribal huts buildings etc saw people with bow and arrows. Take drinks and mossie spray with you make sure arms legs are covered and dont touch wild animal's dogs etc they carry rabies and other diseases. Bottle water is a big must to clean teeth. Anti diarrhoea pills is a big must to its miles away to the local hospital. You will need your yellow fever vaccine and card coming here i was told this by my tour guide and tour manager went here with a group of people 16 of us went met at heathrow airport as a 14 day tour around Brazil going to the Rio Iguazzi falls Brasilia Salvandor Amazon jungle before going home i had amazing time and everyone was great. Vaccinations are a must deadly diseases are about. Be careful what you eat and drinkWritten December 27, 2018

Booked the afternoon trip and was told the pickup time was 7:45 am. After several emails which were replied to promptly the pick up time was changed to 12:45pm No big deal
The driver arrived promptly then we went to another hotel where we waited 40 minutes for another group. After they boarded we drove to another hotel where we waited 15 minutes and picked up more guests and then to another hotel to pick up the guide
Our group was English speaking the other groups were not. The guide could speak some English but had trouble understanding us. By the end of the trip he was speaking almost exclusively Portugese.
It took 2 hours after tour was over to get back to our hotel. Other guests and the guide were dropped off first
This is the first negative review I have left on trip advisor and we use it often. Based on our experience I cannot recommend this tour for anyone

Dear Richard H,
Thank you for your review.
We apologize there were a few delays during pick ups due to delays from other guests.
The guide is accredited by the Tourism Ministry as English Speaking and is quite experienced. We are sorry that he might have focused on portuguese due to the numbers of portuguese speaking guests being higher. The guide shoul definitely attend to all guests and we apologize.
Please note that the pick ups and drop-offs are a courtersy to guest that might wish to skip to the last departure point if they choose so. Depending on the location of the hotel there is a chance that you might end up participating more pick ups and drop-offs than other guests.
Thank you.
