About the operator
- Kathydaffy7000Great way to travel! What a great way to explore from the Wharf in D.C! We took one taxi to Georgetown and enjoyed it so much that we boarded another to Old Town Alexandria; both were comfortable with fantastic sights. The boats offered small snacks and drinks so that was a plus! They were on time, the check-in was a snap and it was even possible to change departures if you found out you wanted to stay at your destination longer. I wish more cities on the water had taxis like these!
- Nomad25135000Great views from the water! We’ve visited DC many times but had never thought to do the water taxi. So glad we did it this year! Great views of DC from the water. We did the Wharf to Georgetown ride.
- KhanhY41500Great way to get to old Alexandria from DC Wharf!Crew was friendly and the boat left on time. Easy, fun way to get to old Alexandria from the Wharf. Wish we had given ourselves more time to explore old Alexandria. There were a lot of cute shops and restaurants there and a trolley that takes you up and down King street for free.
- Elaine K00Fun way to get to Old AlexandriaThis was a good way to get around! Only negative comment is the taxi schedule. Couldn't view it online cuz link was bad. No one that works for the company knows what's going on. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Si if you want to know what the time schedule is, ask the boat crew each time you get off the taxi and hope for the best!
- tisha_lee0700We would do this again in a heartbeat! We got on at the Warf and just rode to Alexandria and National Harbor. My daughter has a hurt foot, so we didn't get off to visit anywhere, but we thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Our Captain was fun and informative. The scenery was breathtaking. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
- katydid201400Great outing! After biking and walking the Mall for 5 days, it was beautiful to relax and enjoy the water views. Everything was run efficiently and even though it was a busy day, there was lots of space to sit.
- Dream1281944831500Another way to view the Washington DCGood way to see the Capital from the water. The vessel was large and comfortable with seating both inside and out. The only comment to make is the commentary was limited, pre-recorded and hard to hear outside. I've been on many boat tours over the years and live commentary always wins! Hopefully this can be included one day. Thanks.
- Rooster2k900Very enjoyable! We rode from the wharf to Olde Town and National Harbor. The lady at the ticket window was very accommodating with the problem we had with tickets purchased online. She called her boss and all was taken care of. The staff on the boat were great also.
- jasontO2480AN00Cherry Blossom DisappointmentWe booked the “Cherry Blossom Water Taxi” from Alexandria to National Harbor over the peak bloom weekend for a 70th birthday celebration. The weather turned out to be crummy, but the crew was on time and all smiles. The taxi itself was nice. We were able to be inside, with climate control, restrooms, a snack bar, and out of the rain. The only complaint I have (which is a big one) was we didn’t see any Cherry Blossoms at all. I had gone so far as to even call the company to ask if we would be able to see them on this short route, and they said yes. If we weren’t expecting to see the Cherry Blossoms on this special occassion, this would have been a 5* trip.
- Daniel L00Great experience, and left on time!!This was very interesting. We needed to get to Old Town from The Wharf and chose this over Uber/Lyft or taxi. Much more scenic, much more interesting, and not much more time. It drops you off at the Torpedo Factory, which is interesting in and of itself, but there's so much to do in Old Town. It's a long walk, but I highly recommend Hard Times Cafe on King Street if you like chili.
- ryn82300Couldn’t hear the audio- not worth itVery disappointed! We couldn’t hear the audio because of the other passengers on the boat (and even on the return trip when we sat closer to the speakers it was hard). I should have just booked the regular water taxi. I was very disappointed because for the price I thought there would be live narration not an audio recording. The staff was very nice but it was a bad overall experience because it was hard to hear and so much background noise.
- sumbib00Useful and enjoyable way to cross the riverA very enjoyable trip. Great service at a fair price. The staff was super nice. We accidentally dropped a phone in the boat and they carried it to the ticket office at Alexandria, so we could recover it. We are so grateful to everyone who was involved in that.
- Venture78897600LovelyWe went to the Wharf to buy tickets. The process was fast and efficient. The boat was on time and the crew were welcoming. As it was late November, there were not many people on board. We sat on the front deck and enjoyed the beauty of the Potomac and the monuments on the banks. The trip took 50 almost minutes and was worth every cent.
- MikMull00Fun way to get to Alexandria from the WarfWe just did a one way trip from the warf back to Alexandria. The taxi left right on time. The views were beautiful. We were dropped off by Kings Street-- where you can catch the free King Street trolley.
- D127GPerikab00Great serviceThe water boat taxi from DC to Alexandria and National Harbor was a fun day. The staff went above and beyond for a handicapped passenger with a super unusual high tide. Kudos to the staff.

There is a lot of water that surrounds Washington and so it's a great way to see the city from a different perspective and in a leisurely manner.

Nice boat, and nice way to see some sights from a different point of view. We also used the boat ride to get from one Big Bus tour stop to another on the other side of town.

If you're in the MD, DC area, take some time to spend a day in Alexandria, Historic architecture, quaint, fun shopping. good food, relaxing, small village vibe. Take the free trolley through the main street of the town, King Street. Best way to get there is by water taxi. You'll get a chance to sit back and enjoy the view.

Great boat ride! The weather was spectacular and the staff very helpful and nice. I wasn't expecting a recording to be played on the history and sites but you can't beat the views. My favorite moment was seeing the planes coming right over the boat at one time!

My family has an annual Girls Weekend scheduled each year. This year we did a Staycation at the National Harbor. In looking for things to do, I stumbled upon the Potomac Riveboat Cruises. We took the water taxi from the National Harbor to Alexandria then the tour taxi from Alexandria to Georgetown. Nice, scenic cruise.
The Water Taxi's are prompt, so be sure to be in place when you schedule your trip. We built in enough time to have lunch in Georgetown before catching the Water Taxi back to Alexandria. Everyone had a great time.

We arrived in Old Town via the Metro from the Ronald Reagan airport car rental terminal. Spent a few hours exploring and enjoying lunch along the Potomac. When we needed to return to our Georgetown hotel, we were able to switch our 7:30pm pre-purchased tickets to the 3:30 boat. They were very nice about it in the ticket office. If the boats are not sold out, it will never be a problem switching times. While pricey, it is a wonderful & relaxing way to see some of the sights if you are new to the DC area. And for those who love airplanes, it also makes for great plane watching as you pass by the RR Airport. The boat docks on both ends are lovely and have plenty of restaurants and entertainment. Highly recommend.

We have taken several of these water taxi trips (Alexandria/Georgetown/ National Harbor) and each time they have been on time, clean, safe, relaxing experiences. Highly recommend for an enjoyable way to get around the DC area.

More economical than tour boat, just as good for sightseeing. Runs frequently, avoids traffic you would encounter with a car or tour bus
