- Marcus F0 contributionsJack the ripper austin texas based coinI liked it, my favorite part was the ending & seeing the jack the ripper coin on congress austin texas based it was the perfect ending I just wish I could find that same coin image somewhere on the net or taken a picture of itWritten September 3, 2024
- BBfromBigD0 contributionsBetter than averageWe booked this based on the outstanding reviews, but it didn’t quite live up to them. The guide was very nice and his delivery was factual, but just not smooth. His style was engaging. He encouraged questions. He couldn’t always find the exhibits he wanted to show us on his iPad. The story itself is intriguing but it just seems like it could’ve been told a little bit better.Written September 2, 2024
- V5897QXhollyc0 contributions10/10 would recommendI had Will who was lovely and so knowledgeable. The ghost stories are so fun, and you also learn about Austin at the same time , which is great! I would definitely recommend going. I had such a great night!Written August 28, 2024
- Z3619IMpatrickm0 contributionsTourWill was a fantastic tour guide with in-depth knowledge of Austin. During our tour, a couple stopped Will to thank him for the tour the evening before. When we asked about places to go, he gave us excellent recommendations, making our tour an exceptional experience. Highly recommended!Written August 3, 2024
- kristenkA7113SJ0 contributionsGreat time!!Will was an amazing tour guide! He was very knowledgeable of the topic and not because he had to be, but because he really enjoys the topics presented. We ended up going back into Austin to visit the firehouse bar and getting the code for the floppy disk the very next evening! We also went back to the Driskill bar for drinks and Cooper’s BBQ. What started out as an evening of plans, turned into 2 evenings of a really good time. Thanks Will!! (Also, don’t forget to read “if you tell” and watch “masterminds” on hbo 😂Written August 2, 2024
- ryanmS676ZG0 contributionsGreat tour and even better guide in Will. The leader Will is what really made this tour worth the money and the tip we left. The story is interesting and probably not super well known. BUT, it was Will who made the entire tour a great experience. We never felt like it was something that he had done a thousand times. He has a genuine deep knowledge of the subject AND a passion for it as well. Always happy to answer a question and to throw in interesting tidbits here and there. Also opened up some interesting things to do in Austin that paid off really well. 10/10 would recommend.Written August 2, 2024
- tomcJ2492VW0 contributionsGreat mix of spooky and historicalVery interesting and informative tour. Alyssa, the host, was very knowledgeable about Austin and its history, and was a great story teller.Written July 27, 2024
- austinjock0 contributionsA new dimension to AustinWe were looking for a family activity for the evening. Weren’t sure what to expect, this being our first walking tour. Great experience. * We learned a lot about what Austin life was like in the mid to late 1800s * The tour guide, Will, is not only really knowledgeable on the subject, but a first rate raconteur, keeping us all interested for the duration of the tour * The story of the Midnight Assassin, and the amazing twist at the end Thoroughly recommend. Adds a whole new dimension to Austin.Written July 27, 2024

My husband and I enjoyed our morning walk with William. He was friendly and enthusiastic. He walked at a good pace and always made sure he was facing us when he talked so that we could hear him clearly.
Though William knew his script well, I would encourage him to learn more about the downtown and the city of Austin in general.

I am visiting Austin for the month testing the city out and figured what better way to learn about the city than this guided walking tour. So I gave it a shot and am SO HAPPY I did! Dan was a great tour guy, he was so enthusiastic and had so much knowledge of the city. I learned so much from him! It was socially distanced and I very comfortable. Walking outside for the majority of the tour time. I met great people along the way, listened to their stories as they did mine. I never knew a lot of history of Austin, how this amazing city came about, it’s always changing and growing! 10/10 would recommend this tour to anyone I talk to! Thank you to Dan for being such a welcoming, fun tour guide!

I love how much he loves sharing stories with others. His passion for both people and history makes the tour compelling, heartfelt and fun. We will definitely be back to do more tours with Jim

We really enjoyed this walking tour of downtown Austin, learning a lot of the history of Austin. Jim was a great tour guide and knows the city well, so we also got great insights into our visit to Austin, including greet restaurant and music recommendations. Well done and an efficient use of our time in Austin!

An excellent tour with Tyler. It started and ended on time and Tyler shared his knowledge of Austin's fascinating history. Tyler was also flexible in his storytelling by responding to questions presented by the group. Most appreciated were his suggestions for places and restaurants to visit after the tour or on another day. A great value!

Amazing way to get to know the the city! Jim knows his stuff and does a great job of breaking it down for the group. In addition to the history aspect he has great recommendations for food drinks music, and also talks about the city’s growth. Would surely go another tour with this company!

This tour was a good way to become familiar with the history of Austin, it’s origins, and development, as well as, how it became the Capitol of Texas.
We learned about how Austin evolved from a cattle town and rail crossroads to become the fastest growing city in the country, a world renown “capitol” for live music, home to one of the country’s major research universities, and a tech center for the creative class.
Tyler, our guide, was personable, knowledgeable and open to all our questions, sharing historic photos from his iPad, and stopping in shady areas to talk on a hot sunny morning.

Emily was a very knowledgeable host for the all around Austin. She highlighted some of Austin’s present day enjoyments like Jazz clubs and Austin city limits, showed areas of the city where important historical events occurred, and told stories of Austin’s history and how it’s personality came from times of ranchers, warehouses, and vice and is becoming what it is today.
Very great tour hope what I learned could come up in trivia questions someday

We had a very informative tour with Dan on a Friday morning. He knew so much about the local history and the buildings of Austin. He was also very informed and interesting to talk to about the current issues and events around the city. We got to go into the Driskill hotel and learned how the city of Austin started. I recommend this tour for tourists and local.

Our favorite part of our guided tour was Dan! Hands down, he was the best! He was kind and personable and answered all of our questions. This was the best guided tour we have taken so far! The tour was fun and we learned so much about the history of the city. We met some amazing longtime residents of the city who gave us their own stories and experiences….very interesting and fascinating! We would love to do another tour with Dan!

My sister and I are only in Austin for a couple of days: October 20 - morning of the 22nd. Any chance of getting a tour?
Written October 14, 2019
I recommend you contact the tour to see if they will have available space for you in the tour. I can’t see a reason why they wouldn’t accommodate you and our sister. The tour guide we had was a History teacher, so you may not get him since he may be in class at the time. However, if you’re lucky enough to get him you will really enjoy your time!
Written October 14, 2019
This is a last minute trip, wonder if you have two spaces for tomorrow???
