Good food, wine, and great service
If you love BBQ and wine, don’t hesitate just book it! The food and wine are excellent and our tour guide, Cliff was a 5 star guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable, they obviously love what they do and it shows which makes for a more enjoyable and memorable experience. This particular tour is family friendly and has a lot of great photo opportunities. We will definitely book again.

Informative tour with an entertaining guide
We were only in town for the morning, so we wanted a short bus tour that would give a good overview of Austin. Our guide Conner was charismatic and knowledgeable. He made an effort to get to know each of us. He kept our 19 year old engaged, which is not always easy! We enjoyed the stop at the State House and the delicious macroons. We even stopped at the Greetings from Austin mural for a family picture. The bus was comfortable, clean and cool, which we appreciated since it was a hot day. Connor made this a 5-star experience.

All you need to know about Austin with the FANTASTIC Ike!
This was an amazing way to see all Austin has to offer! Ike was so knowledgeable and just a joy. Over the course of the 2 hours our small group of 5 saw sights from the AC van and also go off and explored a bit too. Was able to see all the different neighborhoods and sites in 2 hrs and now know where I want to go for music, dinner, coffee, etc for the rest of my vacation. Highly recommend taking this tour with the fantastic Ike! He will make you feel right at home.

      Cliff is the best!
The trip was amazing and Cliff was an excellent guide! Salt Lick is definitely the place to go, and the wineries were beautiful. I would absolutely recommend booking with Austin Detours and would do so again myself.

      Great!
My wife and I went on the breakfast Taco tour with our tour guide Kelty and she was amazing. We had a great time and aside from the food all being good she provided so much feedback on the history and origin of Austin as well as all the food places and general facts as well. She made it extremely pleasant and we enjoyed it a ton.

      Austin tour experience
The tour was both interesting and informative. Our 18-year-old daughter liked the tour, too. Evan was our tour guide and made the trip very enjoyable. We are glad that we took the tour and would recommend others new to the area to go.

      Austin is Weird? Heck Yeah.
Austin Detours' small group tour is perfect way to see highpoints in short timeframe. State Capitol. Live music entertainment and bar scene. Downtown. University of Texas. South side of the river. Trace was a great guide and local entertainer, too. Two thumbs up! Book it.

      Interesting comprehensive tour
Great comprehensive tour. Evan took us to all the main points with interesting commentary. He truly enjoys his job. It’s a great way to see the city if you are short on time but also if you want to decide what you may want to check out further. Highly recommend!

      Killer tacos and good vibes
We just got off the breakfast taco tour hosted from the Tommie hotel and God damn dude. Our tour guide, Kelty, was phenomenal. Very knowledgeable very strong opinions regarding the city she lives in. Which is great. You can see how much Kelty loves her home. Oh and the taco tour itself. Was magnificent. If you think 3 tacos isn't enough to fill you. I promise you it is. (source: I'm a voracious Easter) Any way Kelty is an amazing guide you should request her for any tour you go on if possible

      Breakfast tacos and good vibes
The breakfast taco tour was so sick. Kelty, our tour guide, brought us to 3 great tacos spots around town that were all so good. She was super knowledgeable about the city and gave my husband and I great recommendations for the many things we asked about. 10/10 would recommend!

      Disappointing
Our guide Brent was really great and had a lot of useful information about the area. I think we would have preferred more time looking at the area and listening to him. The bbq was interesting but not amazing. The wine tasting was very surprising and disappointing. As Europeans, familiar with Mediterranean wines, we knew not to be over critical but none of the wines we tried would even be used for cooking . Two were corked . All were poured through an oil funnel and the same glass used for each taste …. I would not recommend this experience to anyone with a taste for wines.

Visiting Austin for 4 days only for a conference, I was at a loss at where to begin exploring the city and all it had to offer. That's when Austin detours came to my rescue. Not having friends in the city or a car to move around in, the music crawl was the perfect way for me to explore the live music scene in Austin within one night and meanwhile also learn a little bit about the history of the town and people who inhabit it. My favorite was the Monday night cover at the Skylark. The food whatever little I ate of it was good too. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have a unique experience, listen to some awesome music and spend a night chatting with Brent who was the perfect accompaniment for me on the night with his dual interests in science and music. Loved it!

Ike was our guide and he led us through an enjoyable and informative evening highlighting Austin’s music scene. He personally drove us (safely!) to 3 different music venues where we heard a variety of really good live music!! We were lucky to be part of a fun group of 10 adults and this tour was a great way spend an evening in Austin. It took the guess work out of finding good live music. We highly recommend this tour.

Ike was our tour guide and he did a great job sharing his love and knowledge of music and some of the clubs in Austin. He also entertained us with a lot of "Dad jokes". He is very friendly and does a fantastic job including everyone in the group in conversation. On our "Crawl" we went to three different venues and each venue had its own style of music. One place was jazz, another honkytonk and the third was soul. Each venue had it's own vibe as well. The group stayed at each place around 45 minutes. Great way to meet some new people and enjoy a bit of the Austin night life. I would take an Uber to the meet up location so if you like the last place you can stay and Uber home. This is really a must do when visiting Austin for the first time.

Brent was our brilliant guide for a Friday night music crawl. He took us to three music venues, giving us a great feel for the Austin live music scene. He drove the 10 of us to each venue. We stayed about 45 minutes in each, enough time to enjoy the atmosphere and for a drink or two. Brent was friendly and knowledgeable. He made a point to chat with us all during the night. It’s great value for money as all the covers were included as well as transportation. Thanks Brent!!

Took out of town friends who love music but unsure of Texas-style music...huh?!?
Brent was our guide and historian. Brent was fun, professional, timed all venues well and kept the ball rocking.
We were driven to 3 venues in different parts of town and each was musically different and fun! Austin music is not hard to find after a specialized tour like this. Loved “girl”bands, true Texas country with lots of very skilled dancers on the dance floor and the retro Motown and blues venue was a highlight!!
Well executed fun informative highly recommend company and Brent.

Wow! My husband and I had a great time on the Live Music crawl tour. Brent was our tour guide and you could tell enjoyed taking us to three of his favorite places and telling us about each. We heard Indie style music (some lead women singers get together and perform on their off night), some county 2 Stepping music (fun to watch and you could try the 2 step if inclined), and Motown. The last place, we wouldn't have looked twice at from the outside and I'm not sure I would have even gone in, but what am amazing, great find! The place was packed and music was electric (Mr. Monday night). Overall, we would do this tour again. Well done!

Our experience with the Austin Live Music Crawl was Amazing! The venues we visited and the original acts we jammed to would not have been possible for a visitor to experience. Our guide Brent was well informed and fun. He took us to places you would never find. Outstanding music across multiple genres. I wish I could go on this tour every weekend!!!

Fist, our guide (Ike) was great — a passionate musician, funny punster, great storyteller, very informative, awesome van driver/parker, and all around Texas friendly. Ike had it planned/timed perfectly to get us in each place efficiently (with about 45 minutes of music at each place). The venues were awesome and the music was superb. On our own, we never would have ventured to the venues (Saxon Pub, The White Horse, and Skylark Lounge) or got to see these bands. For music, it started with Americana, then country, then harmonica blues (Guy Forsyth, Garrett T. Capps, & Birdlegg) — all very impressive. We are so happy to have done this tour (best part of our trip).

We arrived in Austin just after SXSW had gotten cancelled, and right as toilet paper was becoming a distant memory in Texas.

We did the music crawl on a Monday night, just 4 of us and our guide, Brent. I guess nobody is doing the tour tonight with the clubs closed due to COVID-19. When the tours are back on (soon, I hope), I'd recommend you take this tour. We went to three different venues out of the downtown area (so it is unlikely, we would have found them on our own), and saw 3 bands with completely different styles. Brent was a really good guy and very knowledgeable about the local music scene and the artists we saw. He does the driving, so you can drink comfortably, and don't need to know where to go or find parking.

I mistakenly left my jacket at the 2nd club, and while we enjoyed the band at the third, he went back and got my jacket. He even texted us a few days later to check in on us (again, due to COVID-19). Like I said, a really good guy. Thanks again, Brent. If we're in Austin again, we will definitely look into another Austin Detours tour.

We visited three music venues: C Boys,Saxon Pub, & White Horse Saloon. All 3 were popular places with Standing Room Only crowds. People were dancing & cheering for more at the latter two, but C Boys was too confined for dancing ( the performer at C Boys, Susannah, was on Season 3 of The Voice, on Adam’s team).
