- VishalM780 contributionsNicely planned and flawlessly executed 9 days Turkey tour - Thanks Pupa TravelThese 9 days in Turkey were one of the best days of our life. Thanks to Pupa Travel. Tour Planning : The tour was planned efficiently by Edip based on our requirements. A detailed itinerary was sent which included the dates, domestic flight details, hotel details, places to visit and inclusions and exclusions. All queries and changes were responded to / handled without delays and no follow-ups were required. Tour Execution: Flawlessly executed. We always had details in advance on who is going to pick us up at the international and domestic airport and the details of the tour guides for the specific location. The tour guides were never late. They were knowledgeable on the history of the place. As said, Turkey is the cradle of civilization and hence every place of interest has significant history associated with it and hence the knowledge of the tour guide becomes important. The vans and busses were well maintained with experienced drivers. Alican, our tour guide in Cappadocia, deserves a special shout out. In the first few minutes of meeting him, we knew that our Cappadocia experience would be great. He loves his job, he likes Cappadocia and he loves chatting with people. He had an interesting way of communicating the history behind a place, which kept our curiosity high as well at all times about the place and what we would be seeing next. During travels between places, he ensured that he sat with us rather than with the driver and keeping us busy with past and current facts about Turkey or in some cases talking about his own personal life. Overall a great experience with Pupa Travel. Highly recommended.Written June 5, 2024
- 1nnocentsabroad0 contributionsTurkish Delight! We contracted with Pupa Tourism and Travel for a privately guided tour of 7 days and all went smoothly and seamlessly. We were picked up from the Istanbul International Airport on time and were greeted by a driver who took us to our hotel in the Sultanahmet District of Istanbul. Our guide the next day was Edip Ozcan Arslan who had extensive knowledge of the history of the sights we visited. He also worked with us to arrange two meetings with our foreign exchange sister from 1972 and whom we had not seen in many years. Our tour included a 1-1/2 hour cruise on a private yacht on the Bosporus. They were ready for us and were friendly and welcoming. The boat itself was very clean and comfortable and we were provided with a delicious plate of different fruits and Turkish coffee. Totally excellent! After Istanbul, we travelled to Cappadocia. Our guide helped us navigate through the Turkish Airline process. Our tour in Cappadocia was very special and included the World Heritage sights we planned to see. Pupa then arranged for our flight to Ephesus where again all went smoothly and efficiently. We were picked up by the driver who transported us to our hotel via a quick stop at a local mall that we requested. Our guide the next day at Ephesus ruins provided us with thorough information about the history of this area. All lunch stops were arranged by Pupa and were delightful places with good Turkish food. Pupa was flexible and efficient and provided the direction we needed to make our trip enjoyable. The experience with all drivers and private vans was perfect. We felt safe the entire way. Our last driver made it a point to ask if we needed a toilet stop and helped us with luggage, etc. He helped us obtain our boarding pass at the ferry in Marmaris and made sure we were in the right line to board the ferry to Rhodes. In summary, you can have complete confidence in Pupa Tourism and Travel agency.Written May 23, 2024
- 1nnocentsabroad0 contributionsTurkish Delight! In general, the country of Turkey is a great place to visit. We took several flights on Turkish Airlines between cities. They were always on time or early. We also took a ferry between Turkey and Rhodes and this also left on time. Turkey currently boasts the largest airport in the world. It is very modern. We were picked up from the Istanbul International Airport on time and were greeted by a driver who took us to our hotel in the Sultanahmet District in Istanbul. Our guide the next day was Edip Ozcan Arslan who had extensive knowledge of the history of the sights we visited. He accompanied us in Istanbul and Cappadocia taking us through the Turkish Airline process. He also worked with us to arrange two meetings with our foreign exchange sister from 1972 and whom we had seen in many years. We were taken on a 1-1/2 hour cruise on a private yacht on the Bosporus. They were ready for us and were friendly and welcoming. The boat itself was very clean and comfortable and we were provided with a delicious plate of different fruits and Turkish coffee. Totally excellent! Cappadocia was very special with many wonderful World Heritage sights to see. We stayed at the Argos Hotel which has excellent views of this enchanting area. Dinner at this hotel was a highlight. From Cappadocia, we flew to Ephesus where all went smoothly and efficiently. I cannot remember the name of our guide, but he spoke English well and provided us with thorough information about the ruins of Ephesus. All lunch stops arranged by Pupa were delightful places with good Turkish food. I pre-selected most of the hotels, except the one in Kusadasi (Ephesus area). The Villa Ephesus was selected by Pupa and was a charming place on the side of a hill overlooking the harbor with good access to the town. The breakfast there was excellent and the setting with jasmine and bougainvilleas provided an enchanting ambiance. In summary, you can have complete confidence in Pupa Tourism and Travel agency.Written May 14, 2024

- 646rexr0 contributionsAn ideal way to see favorite spots in TurkeyIf you are searching for a travel agency to help plan your visit to Turkey, look no further. We were attracted to Pupa Travel by one of their 14-day itineraries for small groups, but we hired them instead to lead our private tour for 12 days. Mustafa, our agent living in Cappadocia, was personable, flexible, responsive, and adaptable to our changing or inconsistent desires. His written and verbal communication was timely and clear. When one of us lost a sunhat, he was able to locate it at one of the restaurants we had visited and arrange for its shipment to our last hotel in Turkey. When our flight back to the US was delayed one day, he quickly extended our hotel stay and our airport transfer. All 4 hotels he reserved for us were top-notch. Our tour guides spoke excellent English and had a commanding knowledge of the regions and sites we visited in western Turkey. We will definitely consider hiring Pupa Travel again for a small group tour possibly of Christian religious sites in Turkey.Written April 29, 2024
- jenswV8527VA0 contributionsGreat tour with an amazing guideI cannot say enough good things about this tour, due completely to our guide, Alican! I’m fairly confident all the red tour itineraries are pretty much the same and it is the guide that makes it special so we won the lottery. Alican has a great gentle sense of humor, obvious love of being a guide, and an interest in the attendees. He was organized in providing information, always welcome to questions and tangents but never forgot to circle back around to the original topic. He made the tour enjoyable and educational. We would do any tour with him anytime!Written April 21, 2024
- johncb7110 contributionsOutstanding Travel Company at the Top of their Craft! Highly recommend. From the initial planning and throughout our entire trip, we knew we were in the hands of true professionals. We took a private 12-day tour beginning with 3 days in Cappadocia (Red, Blue & Green tours), then on to Izmir, Pamukkale, and Ephesus for several days, culminating in Istanbul for 4 full days. Extraordinary experience! Alican was fantastic and demonstrated all of the hallmarks of an excellent travel planner: knowledge, astute listening, quick responsiveness, friendliness, and heart. We wish we could use him in other countries! And don't be afraid to use WhatsApp with him! Seriously, he was great, and we had the added benefit of meeting him in person in Cappadocia, as well. And Mustafa, our guide in Cappadocia: The best of the best. This is a guide who has perfected his craft. His attention to detail, disarming personality, warm heart, candidness, and astounding knowledge puts him in the creme de la creme of guides. The other 2 guides, Seyhan in Pamukkale/Ephesus & Dr. Ahmet in Istanbul were also very good: knowledgeable, friendly, and effective. You will learn a great deal about Turkey from these professional guides - all proud of their country and eager to share its rich history and culture. We laughed a lot along the way, too. We stayed in 3 different hotels during our trip. Each was 4 stars or greater. The hotel in Cappadocia, Dere Suites, was outstanding. The size, uniqueness, friendliness, location, breakfast, room, and “magic feeling” there was amazing. We also loved the city of Ürgüp. A great, perfectly sized city to explore on our own after touring hours. Just a fantastic experience. The Carisma Deluxe hotel in Kusadasi was also very nice (and we heard from several people it is the nicest hotel is Kuşadasi), but for two solo travelers on a private guided tour, the hotel was too big, too churning of large amounts of tourists for our taste. Our breakfast included over 100++ others each morning in a cafeteria-style setup that was crowded and noisy. This seemed more like a tour-Bus hotel where hundreds are dropped off in coaches for a night or two versus a small group or couples experience. The rooms were very nice, and the facilities like the gym, etc, were beautiful, and the people were professional. but for us, we would have preferred a smaller boutique hotel, even if it were of slightly less quality. This is a personal preference, however. Finally, we stayed at the Acra Hotel in the old part of the city of Istanbul. Excellent location in the heart of all the tourist sites. Super friendly staff, mostly run by young men. Helpful, accommodating, and heartfelt. The location itself was the “win” for this hotel. The hotel seemed a bit tired, the WiFi was very poor, the walls were thin, and the bath towels were a bit tattered here, but these are nits. Again, the friendly staff more than compensated for any minor shortcomings of the hotel. We will say that the area of the Acra Hotel was great. We ended up eating at the same restaurant twice nearby because the owners were so nice and the food good! That stated, it is a major tourist enclave, so be aware you will be hawked! Finally, the tour itineraries: They were great. Most, if not all, of the hot spots were covered, along with a few fun side experiences, as well. Very comprehensive indeed. The stops included visiting artisan rug makers and fine porcelain makers. Very interesting to visit, and you're not obligated to buy anything (but their wares are beautiful). One inclusion that could have been added in Istanbul would have been a 2-hour boat ride on the Bosphorus. As we had an extra day at the end of our tour, we did this on our own, and highly recommend it. In conclusion, we cannot recommend Pupa Travel enough; and excellent and experienced travel company. They were great to work with from start to finish. You will not be disappointed!Written April 11, 2024

- M7458MQkevins0 contributionsTop-notch tour operator, absolutely recommend!!My wife and I traveled to Turkey December 27-January 10, visiting Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Ephesus. After doing our own research and booking our accommodations and flights to/from Istanbul, we engaged Pupa Travel to coordinate the daily itineraries for our visit--and we are so glad that we did! (Background: I discovered the Pupa website through a Google search and first contacted them only two weeks before our departure date.) Our primary agent, Mustafa, who also served as our private guide during our time in Cappadocia, was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. We were still adjusting our plans a few days before departure (and working with an 8-hour time difference between us) but he never became flustered or impatient and calmly attended to all the details. This included: internal flights from Istanbul to Kayseri and from Kayseri to Izmir, transfers from all airports to our hotels and vice versa, private tour guides and transportation in Istanbul (2 days), Cappadocia (3 days), and Izmir (1 day), rental car for two days including delivery and pickup from our hotels, admission to most venues/sites with some optional activities that we could choose a la carte (hot air balloon ride, Dervish prayer ceremony, traditional Turkish evening). He helped us think through the details of our trip, even the parts his company wasn't directly responsible for. Our private tour guides were all extremely knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Mustafa was in communication with us throughout our visit, even on our "off" days when we had no planned activities. He was encouraging of our renting a car and exploring on our own, rather having Pupa provide a guide and driver. And he and the other guides were very flexible when we asked to modify the itinerary on the fly, and very willing to make recommendations for places to visit on our own. Most importantly, all of Pupa's arrangements--flights, transfers, drivers, guides, rental car--were on schedule, which allowed us to relax and truly savor our time in Turkey. The price for these arrangements--about US$5,000--was half of what a different, luxury tour operator had quoted us. It wasn't cheap, but we feel it was money well spent. This was our first (and hopefully not our last) visit to Turkey, an amazing country whose history and culture trace back to the dawn of human existence. There is so much to see and experience, it can be overwhelming. Thanks to Mustafa and Pupa Travel, our experience was everything we hoped it would be. We would absolutely work with Pupa on our next visit!Written January 18, 2024
- HJ8680 contributionsExcellent organisation; excellent guidesWe organised a 10 day trip to Istanbul and Cappadocia with Pupa. Although we booked the international flights everything else was organised by Pupa and went without a hitch. The two guides (Edip and Zeynep) were brilliant. Fantastic English, encyclopedic knowledge, and able to help us out of muddles like getting off the ferry at the wrong stop! Edip also helped sort out a problem with our initial hotel and post trip issues with one of the items we tried to purchase. We highly recommend this company.Written December 5, 2023
- SistersTrip20140 contributionsAmazing Turkey trip organised through Pupa TravelMy husband and I organised a 2.5 week private tour of Turkey through Edip from Pupa Travel. Edip was very helpful and responsive and organised for us the most wonderful trip through amazing Turkey. Everything ran like clock works, with our fabulous drivers and guides picking us up as scheduled at every location. Our trip started in the beautiful Istanbul, then onto Gallipoli, Cappadocia, Antalya, and Kusadasi. We visited some amazing sites in all of these locations, but our favourite was definitely our hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia. Edip was our guide during our three days in Cappadocia, so it as really nice to meet our lovely friend face to face. If you are thinking of taking a trip to Turkey we highly recommend you contact Pupa Travel, you won’t regret it.Written November 26, 2023

The first tour we took was so amazing we booked a second tour the following day, if we had more days in Cappadocia we would have booked more! I ‘highly’ recommend this company, from pick up times to comfort and the wealth of information given- it was truly a five star experience. The driver is such a experienced and safe driver and the transport was always super clean and extremely comfortable, we were given cold bottled water after every stop too... Mustapha the tour guide.... honestly speaking I cannot give enough praises for him, such a friendly soul and he gave us a wealth of information, he was always smiling and more than happy to answer questions. The pace is so relaxed and both the driver and guide were always more than happy to accommodate to our requests and needs... We can’t Thank you enough for making our stay in Cappadocia one unforgettable amazing experience of a lifetime.. and defiantly see you again soon!
