      Wonderful tour
This tour was amazing. Jian did a fantastic job. Super informative and made me feel like I was with a friend and not a tour guide. I would highly reccomend this to anyone. The food was amazing and the perfect way to immerse yourself in the culture. 10/10

      Lovely afternoon cooking outside
Spent a lovely couple of hours cooking and chatting with Chyl. She's a very good teacher and is very easy to get along with. She told me stories and gave me lots of advice about my time in the Philippines in-between cookery instruction. I learned a few relatively simple dishes that were very tasty and would be easy to repeat at home with your own ingredients if you can't find the exact items. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Top tip, make sure you turn up hungry!

      Yummy food and great stories
The food selection was excellent- fresh lumpia, empanadas at an old food house, dumplings, noodles - youngest restaurant we visited was 60 years old! That's how long they have been popular! Great guide had really interesting stories.

      A must do in Manila
Had an absolutely great time at the cooking class. Chyl was phenomenal- very kind, patient, knowledgeable, and shared so much passion about food. Though 'Merienda' is a Spanish take on the word 'snack', I certainly wouldn't need any more food after the class. If you're a foodie and want an experience and skills to bring back home, this is for you.

      Great tour in Intramuros
Our family had an amazing time reconnecting with cultural roots and learning more about Filipino history thanks to our guide Jian on this tour! He was very knowledgeable and friendly and took us on a seamless overview of Intramuros, hitting sites like St. Augustine, Casa Manila, and Fort Santiago. He also went above and beyond helping us book a reservation at Barbara’s Cultural Heritage and flagging down a kalesa.

      Fascinating and informative tour
The Intramuros tour was fascinating, educational and a good first-day introduction to the Philippines. Jian, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and engaging and provided an excellent overview of the history of the Philippines. We enjoyed exploring San Agustin Church, Casa Manila and other Intramuros spots. Jian went above and beyond by helping us secure a kalesa and showing us the ramparts. Highly recommend--a must-do for visitors to Manila.

Interesting and informative. Jerome is great!
Jerome was an incredible guide! He was punctual, communicative, and extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He knows so much about Intramuros and Philippine history in general, and was great at explaining the history through storytelling. He was very receptive to what we were interested in seeing as well, and was able to answer all our questions. The fee we paid covered all admission fees. Highly recommend!

      My Greatest cooking experience
I'm so happy that I experienced this cooking class. This was my first time to cook Filipino food but Chyl made sure that all the instructions were easy to follow and the outcome successful. She has a pleasing personality and helps you when you're losing focus. I highly recommended this event.

      ENJOYABLE MOMENT IN MY LIFE!
This class was not only an enjoyable experience but really helped hone my confidence in the kitchen. Chyl, our guide, was a capable mentor and incredibly patient as she explained the origin of each dish. After the class, I started crying with joy because I felt so happy. I can't wait to share what I learned with my friends and family.

      Cooking Class with Friends
I had the most incredible experience cooking with my friends and Chyl. She's a fantastic guide and shared so much about Filipino cuisine. She made the whole event fun and engaging. We made some delicious stir-fried noodles, banana crepe, and vegetable roll in her gorgeous al-fresco setup. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Manila.

      A great experience
Cooking class was a lot of fun and I personally learned a lot. The guide was easy to follow. We cooked filipino dishes such as turon and pancit bihon. It is my first time cooking the dishes so I am enthusiast to learn the dishes. Having cooking class is a great idea to spend time with your colleagues or friends as the place is cozy.

Manila Filipino Cooking Class: Meryenda Favorites
If ever you find yourself in the Philippines you should gift yourself with this hands-on cooking class. It's fun, immersive and educational - even for someone who cooks a lot. The amiable host and instructor, Chyl, introduced my group to many helpful cooking techniques while sharing funny, sweet anecdotes about growing up in the country. The class is held outside her cute café and is very casual and inclusive. The experience would be fun for a group of friends or a couple looking for a little competition. On the other hand, going solo would ensure a new friend

Awesome it's always great to have a history geek as your tour guide and the best part it wasn't boring. Jian was great making me feel engaged and asking any questions even if a little silly. Great friendly experience. Thank you. salamat po

Jian, our tour guide for the Food Introduction tour in Manila, was absolutely fantastic. He took me on a culinary adventure, introducing me to a diverse range of meats and local cuisines from authentic food vendors. Jian's extensive knowledge and passion for the local food scene made the experience even more enjoyable. His ability to navigate through bustling markets and share captivating stories about the vendors and cultural significance of the dishes added an extra layer of depth to the tour. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Manila and looking for an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Jian was our tour guide and he did a phenomenal job in providing knowledge behind Filipino Street food. This tour is a perfect blend of different types of Filipino food and highlights some of the classic dishes. We truly appreciated Jian for his pace of the tour, as well as additional details behind some of the city's history. 10/10 would recommend and do again.

Jian is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic foodie. We sampled numerous and abundant local food at small stands and eateries we would not have discovered ourselves. We tasted a broad range a food from siumai, to a variety of grilled food on sticks, sisig, desserts and more. I highly recommend this food tour if you want to experience local flavors from a very personable guide.

This was a fantastic tour! Jian, the guide, was such a good host, balancing a fact and fun-filled street food tour of Manila.
There was an enormous amount of food available, so highly recommend skipping lunch prior to the tour. The food was an array of delicacies, which may be uncommon to many non-Filipinos, but was delicious. I recommend going on this tour with an open mind. Giving everything a go will enhance your experience.
I think that the tour I went on was made even better by having a bunch of others on the tour (our was 12 people)! Cultural experiences are made even better when you have the opportunity to share them with others.

We both really enjoyed this tour, Jian was an amazing tour guide with loads of knowledge, interesting facts (all new to us) and a great selection / variety of foods and drinks to try! We loved how he encouraged us to dig in and really challenge ourselves to explore more and experience the culture through the food we tried, we definitely don’t regret any of it. We are proud to say we did try everything and there wasn’t anything we hated, it’s a great tour and really helped our introduction to the country in our first week being here. We feel like we can go anywhere now on our travels here and enjoy the food we tried on this tour, Jian was great and has been a massive help with more advice for us on our further travels. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone in Manila!

We had a wonderful and fun experience with Jian on our street food tour. Jian took care to explain much about the city and it’s local food culture. He was great at getting us to be adventurous in trying new flavors. Definitely a unique experience coming from the US. Highly recommended for those wishing to venture outside of their comfort zone a bit and try a little local flavor.

If you where here for a short Stay and you would have always wondered what kind of Food Locals eating, then you should book this Tour.
After introducing himself and giving us a short Scedule about the Tour he showed us all the Local Restaurants and Stalls.
At every Stop, he spoiled us with Food and Drinks and gave us Background Informations about it. It was very interesting to listen to him and he was always open to any Questions we had.
We loved it that he showed us authentic local Food and that he was easy to talk with.
I even tried one of the Filipino Delicacies “Balot”.
If you book this Tour you should definitely come with an empty stomach, I’ll promise you, you won’t be hungry anymore.
Thank you again for this amazing Tour Jian!

Jian is the man. I love taking food tours whenever I visit an Asian country, and his did not disappoint. He introduces you to an excellent cross section of bites you'll be able to find all over the islands, gives you their history and a few fun personal stories about them to boot. I’m still laughing over why they’re called “walkmen,” :D. He's passionate about his country's culinary traditions and eager to share that love with his guests. As we discussed during the tour, in the great smorgasbord of SE Asian food, the Philippines are criminally underrepresented, and he's here to fix that. He'll also give you some solid advice on how to get the most out of your time here. Bring an empty stomach, do it your first day in Manila and tip the man twice.

Great food tour with an extensive list of street food! Chloe presented the food tour with a great structure that was well thought out ensuring palate cleansers between sets of savoury food. Chloe explained the context behind the food and where it's origins were. The challenging foods were gently introduced and were all delicious even if they felt gnarly! Despite a hot day we didn't get too sweaty as the walking was broken up by triking and jeepney rises. Would recommend this to anyone passing through Manila.
