- Y4261PLchrisp0 contributionsGreat guide but not a great tourA difficult one this. Our driver Rajan was an excellent guide and quite entertaining. However as a couple our opinion was that the pewter factory was very interesting, the batik factory was not and frankly I wouldn’t recommend any one visit the Batu cafe, at least not the main one containing the temple as over commercialised and too many people. Perhaps other caves may have been more interesting, but we were only given an hour for the visit. The hot springs are not in a natural settings and are a waste of time and the waterfall is ok, but again a fairly quick visit of an hour. The lunch was excellent and there was plenty of delicious food. Unfortunately overall I would recommend the company , but probably not the tour in its present format.Written August 17, 2024
- Victorialouisewilson0 contributionsBattu caves couples tripWe had a private tour for the 4 of us which i would definitely reccomend paying the extra £10 to do as this meant we weren't waiting around for other people and could do what we wanted really. Our guide Fauzi was brilliant! So much knowledge about all things which he was happy to share with us. The caves /steps were great. It was very busy so try and avoid weekends if u can however we still did everything we wanted to. Wear comfy shoes to climb the 200+ steps and women need to have their knees covered to climb the steps or go into any of the temples. They weren't really bothered about your shoulders so you could just take a sarong and cover up temporarily for the steps or you can buy them there. If you want to see monkeys this is a great trip. There were loads sitting on the steps and running up and down and across them. Take an apple or banana to (cautiously lol) give them but don't have any sort of plastic bag on display as they can get quite aggressive if they think you have food. The hot springs were ok, it was basically just a pit stop to sit down for a bit and put your feet in the hot and boiling hot pools. There were also some locals filling up buckets to drink and wash clothes from the bigger pools which you aren't allowed to put your feet in. The waterfall was ok, lots of steps to climb to get to the first and then 2nd level and it was very busy with locals and families having BBqs when we went (on a saturday) so didn't really feel comfortable getting in our bikinis and having a dip. We just dipped our feet in. There were also monkeys playing and looking for food about half way between the first and 2nd level which was fun to see. The pewter factory was ok. It was quite difficult to understand the guide at times as he was speaking through a mic'd up mask and as it was a weekend there werent many workers in the factory. It was interesting to see but thankfully we didn't spend alot of time there. We also had a quick pit stop at a silk shop where we saw them starting a print from scratch how they add the design and colours and then the finished article. You can also buy sarongs, shirts and some cute kids clothes from here too. Lunch was included and we were really surprised at how much food we got. We were given a big plate of delicious rice and then lots of side plates of different veg kept coming. This trip was very good especially for the price so would definitely recommend it. Top tips: 1. Go to the toilet at the pewter factory. Do not go at the waterfall. It's a public toilet which is basically a hole in the ground, or a step up to a hole in the floor. I'm still traumatised by the experience. 2. Take some fruit for the monkeys. 3. Tip your guide - they are fab! 4. Traffic is very busy, especially around the caves so be mindful of that. And that weekends can be extra busy.Written August 10, 2024

- nooraB9820UP0 contributionsTerrible experience - DO NOT go on this tripI was solo-travelling, so I thought it would be a good option to get a guided tour. I booked the group tour, as it is a good way to meet people. I was not at all informed that there was no one else on the trip, and that it would be just me and the driver. The driver made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and asked highly inappropriate questions - I was made to feel so uncomfortable that after getting off at the first stop at Batu caves, I decided to make my own way back and cut the trip short. I paid 240 RM, to go for 30 minutes on a trip that should've been 6 hours. I also tried to get in contact with the travel agent, Travel Yamu, to request a refund, they picked up my initial call but have ignored every call since then. Awful company and awful experience - save your money and go these places yourself by taxi.Written June 20, 2024
- Deb A0 contributionsGems in Kuala LumpurBrilliant day! Batu Caves were amazing, waterfall breathtaking. The visit to the Royal Selangor factory was fascinating. Lots more on the tour too! Our guide Harry (aka Uncle Harry) was entertaining and brilliant.Written May 9, 2024
- j_shanahan10 contributionsThanks for a great day.The tour was great. My driver was Harry and he had a really great positive vibe about him. His knowledge was good and gave us lots of facts about life in Malaysia. Myself and several other people in the tour (the tour comprising of 5 of us) did not realise that we also went to the pewter museum as well as the batik textiles and coffee places before the hot springs and waterfall. Although these stops were interesting and worthwhile (minus the coffee stop) this confusion caused us to not be able to fully enjoy the little stops as we felt disoriented. Having your guides give a quick summary/itinerary of the day before we leave KL would minimalise confusion. For us tourists, we should have also taken note of the description on Viator. (Perhaps too the tour description/pictures could be amended)? Lunch was at a humble Indian restaurant. Delicious. Overall, I recommend the tour. Thanks for a nice day out!Written May 8, 2024
