Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- annaaN8518CY0 contributionsMr. Indran is the best tour guideNice Tour. Picked us up from our location and brought us back to the same location. Enough time spent at each spot. My favorite being the waterfalls. Special thanks to our Tour Guide Mr. Indran! He was amazing to work with from the beginning. Super communicative, flexible, knowledgeable and overall amazing. He made us feel like family and safe at all times. If you book this tour hopefully you'll get to meet Mr. Indran. He's amazing and made our vacation so very wonderful! He's the best tour guide we've had by far! Keep up the good work Indran!Written December 4, 2024
- Jesse A0 contributionsOnce in a lifetime experienceThis is definitely one of the most difficult hikes that we have ever been on but it was well worth it to see the rafflesia flower. The guides were wonderful and did their best to make sure that we were safe the entire time and made us feel very welcome.Written November 25, 2024
- christopherpX7621GM0 contributionsHIGHLY RECOMMENDLoved ALL the sights and food was amazing. Caves were AMAZING and tour guide was very friendly. No complaint. Perfect tour for tourists. HIGH RECCOMMEND. If you don’t book this tour you are wrong. MUST DOWritten November 24, 2024
- PaschG0 contributionsFantastic tourReally enjoyable experience with Aris, who had the perfect balance of giving sufficient information and plenty of time to enjoy each activity. He was friendly, funny, professional, and thoughtful. We really enjoyed Batu Caves, how lucky are we that people praying tolerate tourists observing their sacred ceremonies. A truly wonderful experience. Really enjoyed the hot springs too, and waterfalls, highly recommended.Written November 20, 2024

- K6647RQmatthewc0 contributionsA great snapshot of Kuala Lumpur's beauty.A great day out. Harry was a terrific tour guide who made us feel very comfortable and relaxed as we drove around. Batu Caves are busy and it's a hike to get to the top but well worth it. Make sure you bring your bathers for a swim in the waterfall, it's absolutely amazing and a well needed cool off on a hot and humid day. The Pewter Factory and Batik shop are quick stops but quite interesting.Written November 14, 2024
- annehF6517XV0 contributionsWell worth doing. Our guide Josh was excellent. He communicated well and he had a great knowledge of customs, history & culture. I highly recommend this tour.Written November 8, 2024
- 399levinias0 contributionsBest Tour Guide!Ronnie Ranjit was my tour guide and he was amazing. Knowledagble historically and culturally. I wanted to see a lot of the street art so he adapted my tour to allow for enough time to get to the streets and some obscure side streets to see murals. It was a great introduction to Penang and I am glad I choose this tour.Written November 4, 2024
- levinias20240 contributions5 hrs well spentHighly recommend this tour. Great historical and cultural intro to George Town. My guide Ronnie Ranjit was the best. Knowledgable, and accommodating. When I said I wanted to see street murals he made sure I got to see more than just a couple that might have been standard for the tour. Let me wander the temples on my own time. I never felt rushed to get to the next location.Written November 2, 2024
- Passenger7861350 contributionsGood trip with caveats.Overall a good trip. First stop was the hot springs which was a waste of time as the water is just too hot to get in. Next was the waterfalls which were lovely and nice for a swim but quite a few steps to get there. Batu caves were up next and even more steps but worth the effort. A little too touristy and filthy because of the monkeys eating bananas. Hardly a spiritual place but the caves are spectacular. After lunch we did the pewter factory which I found surprisingly interesting. Next the batik workshop which was quite interesting and I bought a shirt there from a good range of choices at a good price.Written October 21, 2024
- Gabrielle M0 contributionsGreat GuideI had a great experience, the guide Khairy ensured I had a great day as a solo traveller and we had ample time to explore all the attractions.Written September 28, 2024

- Y4261PLchrisp0 contributionsGreat guide but not a great tourA difficult one this. Our driver Rajan was an excellent guide and quite entertaining. However as a couple our opinion was that the pewter factory was very interesting, the batik factory was not and frankly I wouldn’t recommend any one visit the Batu cafe, at least not the main one containing the temple as over commercialised and too many people. Perhaps other caves may have been more interesting, but we were only given an hour for the visit. The hot springs are not in a natural settings and are a waste of time and the waterfall is ok, but again a fairly quick visit of an hour. The lunch was excellent and there was plenty of delicious food. Unfortunately overall I would recommend the company , but probably not the tour in its present format.Written August 17, 2024

This tour is a great option for a night.
Sri Shakti temple was a cool temple to visit, different from Sri Mariamman and Batu Caves that you'll see in other tours. Uniquely, it is not brightly painted like other Hindu temples. Very interesting to see.
Feeding/petting monkeys was a lot of fun; they are adorable and friendly. Costs maybe 1 or 2$ to buy food for them.
The restaurant was a Thai restaurant on the waterfront. We had sweet and sour fish, some kind of pork and vegetables, and fried rice (I'm guessing with Jasmine). Very, very good. It also allowed a fantastic view of the sunset.
We did not visit the lighthouse on Bukit Melawati. I'm not sure if it was from time constraints or some other factor. However, it hardly mattered as from the description of the tour, you can't go inside anyway.
The highlight of the tour was (of course) seeing the fireflies and the glowing water at night. I've never seen so many fireflies, nor have I seen water that glows as it goes into motion. I still don't know (and havene't researched) why it glows like that, but it's sure cool to see.
Finally, our tour guide Hery/Harry (not sure how to spell it, since we received emails from someone spelling it Hery) was a fantastic tour guide. Very funny and always joking. Excellent guide.

Dear Ryan,
We are honoured to receive your excellent review.
Very happy to read your experience.
Just for clarification: It’s true visitors cannot go inside the lighthouse.
For the reason why the water that glows is that:
Because the bay is small in size, water does not rush out of it quickly. Thus, after a heavy rainfall, the mangroves release a large amount of vitamin B12. Dinoflagallates will conglomerate in the bay, and this concentration causes them to agitate and give off their glow.
This is what I found out by searching on google web, though I don’t have the specific exact reason why it happens so.
Anyway,we are glad you enjoy this firefly tour with our entertaining driver :)

Harry was our driver. His English and sense of humor was fantastic. We visited in the wet season, so watching a huge storm added to the fun. At ALL times, Harry drove tot the conditions and we felt super safe.
Our 1st stop was Sri Shakti Temple. You have to take your shoes off and no photos allowed. A huge mother cow was just wondering around the shelter shed, while another cow was tied to the temple.
Next was Bukit Melawati. You can buy a bag of food for 10MR to feed the monkeys. The Silverleaf monkeys are quite friendly. It's the Macaque ones that you need to watch out for.
Next was our Seafood Dinner at Kuana Hwa Seafood Restaurant. Right by the river. The food is extremely fresh. We didn't have to order as the menu was already selected for us. Fish, crab, vegetables, prawns and fried rice. Sensational. Drinks at your expense.
Last was the Fireflies. The entrance was right next door to where we had dinner. I was a bit surprised to notice that we were on a motorised boat with about 20 other people. (Probably didn't read all the fine print info before booking). Made the most of it anyway. When it got darker, they looked like Xmas tree lights flashing on and off. It felt like we only had about 10 minutes all up, but it was probably enough time.
Thanks to Harry and the team for getting us back to our hotel safely after a great wet seasons storm.
Travel Yamu and Asni TOurs seem to be the same company.

The scene of mangrove at nightfall was really beautiful. However, a brief introduction to the Indian temple and recommendation to major spots in Melawati Hill were not given. It is easy to miss the feature of the tour.

The food at the seafood restaurant had a lot to desire, not because it was not good, but because it was ordered by the tour company and must have picked the cheapest dishes.
Driver of vehicle should not be driving at all, very poor driver.

I’m sorry behalf of my team for the unpleasant experience.
