    Ookini Osaka Cycle
This was an excellent way to see the city and sample some local food. Our guide was a native of Osaka but had lived in Tokyo for 5 years so he was a great resource for the specific culture of Osaka. We only did a day trip to Osaka and I wished we spent more time there. The people are incredibly friendly and chatty. Bicycling through this city is very easy and there are just the right amount of stops along the way. We weren’t able to try all the local street food but ask your guide for local recommendations if you’re spending more than a day there. Ookini for a great ride!

Great tour and great food (we are foodies and loved it!). Yuki was the perfect guide and told us a lot about Japanese culture, which was very appreciated. Arigato gozaimasu for the great experience! Absolute recommendation!!!

    Great Family Experience!
Took the bike and food tour and it was an excellent experience. We were able to see a lot of North Osaka while tasting traditional Japanese dishes. Our tour guide was so personable and very knowledgeable about the food scene in Osaka. It was so fun! I would do it again.

    Fun Day Biking Osaka.....
I set the tour up with Sam. Sam was knowledgeable and prompt in getting back with me. Very helpful in letting me know that my food allergies would be taken cared of. On the day of the tour, we got over to the meeting point and its a little hard to find as we were early. If you are early look for a mailbox that says Cycle Osaka :-) We met Matt and our fellow tour mates and it was a really nice group. There was another couple from California as well as a family of 4 from Hong Kong. Everyone was pleasant and great to hang out with. During our tour one of the bikes had a mishap with a pedal coming off. Matt was able to get a bike replacement in short order so we could continue. Curve balls happen, the question is how you handle them. Matt handled it like a Champ. We then stopped for lunch. Matt made sure that there was no fish in our ramen due to allergies. It was great being able to eat without worrying whether there would be an allergic reaction. And the ramen was delicious. When I got back, I realized one of my work colleagues also had Matt as a tour guide the week prior. My colleague took my recommendation and used Cycle Osaka. He had a private tour with his family and was also very happy with his tour. Finally, Matt took many pictures (including group pics) which he sent to us after the tour. Great Memories! Highly recommend :-)

    Tourist Eating Like a Local
This was one of the highlights of our Japan visit because we got to go off-the-beaten-tourist path to experience food where the locals would eat. Cycling in the city along with pedestrians, bicyclist, and cars was a bit scary for us, novice cyclist, but we all managed to get around and enjoyed a different perspective of Japan life. Sam was extremely accommodating to our groups' needs and personalized the food choices. We got to know him, and through that, we learned about life in Osaka, along with eating delicious food. It was not enough to feel like we had a full meal, but we got a taste of a variety of local foods. Sam, we appreciate your kindness and hospitality!

    Five stars
Family with 10 year old and 18 year old. One of the rare activities where both kids had a great time! Sam was excellent guide, food was delicious (especially the dessert!) and great way to spend a half day in Osaka. And yes they have kids bikes.

great experience for the whole family
Thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour. Took a private family tour, kids and all, with guide Matt. Bikes were comfortable, lots of stops and things to see! Checked out Osaka Castle, among others, and several food spots. Enjoyed by adults and kids alike. Matt was kind, so funny and very knowledgeable. Got to know us and crafted things based on our interests as we went. Highly recommend for a great time and fun introduction to Osaka!

    Best tour in Japan!
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Osaka and one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Mayco was an absolutely fantastic guide, showing us all the hidden tasty treats of Osaka and adding some history in as well. We loved the small group dynamics and the fun of cycling around the city. I would one hundred per cent recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan’s food city!

    Fun, friendly and informative
This was a wonderfully insightful trip of Osaka. What better way to see Osaka than on a bike. Our guide, Matt, was friendly, adaptable and brought the history of the area to life. I would highly recommend.

    Great Osaka intro
Fun and easy going ride through Osaka - we clocked about 13 miles aver the course of the day. Mako was a great guide, keeping the ducks in a row and orchestrating a delicious lunch, and offering a cold coffee after a hilly section. An interesting mix of parks, riverside and busy city streets. My only complaint was that at times it was hard to hear Mako and she seemed to miss my "hand around the ear" sign to speak up.

Super fun to cycle a couple of hours through Osaka. Our host Mayco brought the city to life with good stories and historic backgrounds. Often illustrated with old photographs to point out the way Osaka has been changing over the century. To be recommended, thanks Mayco!

As first timers to Osaka this was an awesome way to see and learn about the city. The ride itself was relatively easy and flat so no problems for people of all fitness levels. We were told about the history of Osaka which was especially interesting. Our guide Yuki was very knowledgeable, eager to tell us all about Osaka and more than happy to answer any of our questions. Would highly recommend this tour. Thanks Yuki!

Sam took us for a really lovely morning ride around Osaka Castle. The family and I had a great time! And his stories really helped to liven up the trip. Sam was also great with kids, and he was always willing to adjust the itinerary to keep things interesting.

We’re a family of 3 who’s a first timer in Osaka and this bike tour indeed was what we exactly needed. Our tour guide, Matt, was very cheerful and knowledgeable. I particularly loved the way he injected jokes here and there. I would give the tour initially a 5 star but realized how the cycling pace was fast. Considering this was a tour, I would have expected that the pace was slower to give me time to wander rather than catch my breath 😁

The bikes we had were not hybrid but I was able to manoeuver without any issues. There were occasional ramps and slopes but Matt and the group was kind enough to wait for me.

Helmets were an option. My family and I didn’t need to wear one as like any other cyclists I see around the city. But Matt offered just in case.

Overall, this was a fun experience especially for history lovers like us.

Overall it was a great tour riding around north Osaka. We rode mainly on roads and sidewalks, but didn’t feel unsafe. My only criticism is that it felt a bit rushed. It would have been nice to spend a bit longer in certain points of interest to explore off the bikes. We only really did this at Osaka castle.

Maiko, our guide was amazing. She is a native of Osaka but spoke English perfectly having lived in the U.S. She had interesting stories about Osaka and the tour was organized very well. There were frequent short stops and many opportunities for photographs. This was an amazing way to experience Osaka for the first time even on a hot day in July.

Really great ride and time on Osaka . Thanks to our guide Matt who made it special. He is full of knowledge telling stories in such an eloquent and fun way that even our teenagers felt captivated by his great personality. Ride was safe and we were lucky to hit middle of cherry blossom which lucky for us arrived this year a little earlier . When visiting Osaka again we will definitely go on this ride again to learn more and have lots of fun !
In my opinion it is MUST DO activity in Osaka.

Excellent way to see this beautiful city. An added bonus was the historical knowledge of our guide Matt. We learned so much! Amazing.
We felt safe during the whole ride and there were plenty of stops to take in the scenery and take photos.
I would definitely recommend the tour and the company.

Huge thanks to Sam and his team! They helped us book at the very last minute and we had a great time. We saw quite a bit of Osaka, much of it through lively neighborhoods and quaint streets we likely wouldn’t have explored on our own. Our guide was informative and fun. Don’t wait, book your tour!

We enjoyed our bike tour with Remi. The weather was beautiful and the road cycling was not difficult.

Finding the location of the shop was perhaps the most challenging part, but we found it. Allow a little more time before the tour to find the shop just in case you need it.
