Great food, great guide, and a great tour. A fabulous way to see Osaka with friendly and informative guide. We had the best Nikuman we’ve ever tried along with some other delicious Osaka cuisine. Definitely recommend this bike tour, especially to those who are only in Osaka for a short time and want to see the city’s highlights.

Sam was a fantastic guide and conversationalist. We had enough historical info to be interesting but nothing too much! It was a highlight of our trip. The food and drinks were great! It was also refreshing just to be back in the mix and spend time with super cool people in a beautiful city enjoying good food and feeling so free riding these bikes around! What a great return from a season of weirdness!! Thanks CYCLEOSAKA for making this tour go! You rock!

This was a great tour with Matt and apologies for belatedly posting this review. Directions on the meeting point were very clear and we travelled by train to our meeting point at the Tsutenkaku Tower. Just my husband and I on this tour which was well paced, a variety of great food including Korean and a wonderful way to gain a little insider knowledge about this part of Osaka. We concluded with a demonstratIon at Tower knives and then did a tour of the Tsutenkaku Tower which hosted an amazing Billiken display, we had already met a number of these happy creatures on our our ride.

The tour was a lot of fun and very informative. I was with Mayko, and she was lovely to be with, very knowledgeable and fun. The biking was just enough in terms of distance, and the food was excellent wherever we went. I would highly recommend it for a first timer to Osaka or someone who's interested in Japanese food.

Had such a great time in our small group, our guide Mayco also was a lot of fun, very knowledgeable, informative and very helpful. Biking distance was manageable for any fitness level and the tour I was on was a nice sunny day. I would do a bike tour again (Hopefully with Mayco haha! ) but would probably try the full day Osaka tour instead of the food tour. Great food, great company and wow what a beautiful amazing city!

The Osaka biking food tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. Matt was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide and he took us to many places that we wouldn't have even thought to go ourselves. He also had some great personal stories to share that made the whole tour feel very unique and interesting. We ended at one of my favorite sushi places that we visited in all of Japan too!

This is such a fun and interesting food tour. Its so much better than walking to each restaurant/ food stall and it means you can cover more area over a shorter period of time. The food places they took us to was fantastic and well worth the tour price. Would highly recommend.

I was hoping for more food and drinks on this tour, but it was a bit more riding than i expected for my self and my son. We essentially kept up. The food we had was great and destinations were interesting. Very knowledgeable guide.

It was a pleasure riding a bicycle in Osaka’s wildwest cycling culture. The discussions and questions and answers while biking from site to site were a highlight. The food itself was ok, standard fare. I really didn’t get why there was a visit to Koreatown and a stop to eat Korean food. While in itself it was interesting and tasty, it didn’t really give me any experience or insight into Japanese food, or even Japan/Korean relations. It could have been easily substituted for okonomiyaki, a local speciality. FWIW, the history of Japan’s brutal occupation of Korea was never even mentioned. Shitennō-ji, the oldest Buddhist temple in Japan was constructed by Korean carpenters as Buddhism came to Japan from Korea, not the reverse as our guide stated.

Hey Tom, Thanks for the thoughts, and glad you had a good time :) A bit of background: For us, Koreatown is as much a part of Osaka as anywhere else in the city. The stories and the food this part of town are often overlooked by visitors so we think it is a cool addition to the tour. You are right that we could have substituted in Okonomiyaki, but we feel that it is really easy to find this food elsewhere and we are trying to show a side to Osakan food culture that is easily missed. All of the other food stops are Japanese of course. I am sorry if your guide misspoke on the construction of Shitennoji, and neglected to mention Japan's brutal occupation of Korea, I think I speak for us all when I say we have no agenda on that, we just really like bikes and food and Osaka. Thanks again for giving us a whirl, and all the best for your future adventures. Sam

Would highly recommend this tour if you want to see a different side to Osaka and it's foodie culture. Don't expect to be taken to the 'regular' spots, you'll actually find some hidden gems!
There were five of us on the tour as well as guide, Sam. There's not loads of cycling but you will need to be reasonable at it in order to keep up. We did four stops but imagine it'll vary by day/tour guide.
