A Walking Tour Delight in Osaka, Japan
Excellent guide named Miyo. Her English was amazing and she answered so many questions during the course of our tour that 3 other previous guides did not answer fully. She took us to a fabulous place to eat. I would recommend this tour to all. IF you get Miyo for your guide you will be very fortunate!

Great experience at Minoh Park Tour
Mr Ichiro was a wonderful guide during my walk at Minoh Park. He was more like a fellow friend who came to the park together with me. We had a great time chatting and walking through nature. Thank you for the wonderful experience and I would highly recommend anyone to do the Minoh Tour with Mr Ichiro.

Ando was the best and we loved our visit with her.
Ando Minako was a superb guide. We met her at 9 am and the visit was perfect. She gave us some great information and made it very interesting. Even our 12 years old twins loved it and had a great time. The castle was great and the rest of the tour. We also felt that it was just enough information and what we were looking for. We highly recommend Ando if you want to have a great visit.

    Personalized tour through Japan’s majesty
I began planning our trip to Japan one year in advance, and had specific ideas about what attractions were most important to visit based on individual preferences. Though I reached out to more than five different touring companies, only All Star Osaka Walk was willing to accommodate our ‘dream list’ within the itinerary allowed time. Not only were we able to chose the schedule, but also our most desired guide, Kaori, whom I’d read stellar reviews from previous travelers on similarly ambitious city days. As anticipated, Kaori-chan was responsive, thorough, responsible, ethical, efficient, and kind. What we couldn’t have predicted was how warm and caring she would be, attending to all of our needs (down to providing a hand drying cloth at temple restrooms and even sharing her favorite snacks and electrolyte drops during these very hot summer days in Japan). We knew we were truly in the best of care as she led us through the beauty and majesty of Kyoto and Osaka. Each night at dinner, our son revived the many lessons Kaori-chan had filled our days with, from history and social, spiritual, cultural foundations and the meaningfulness of traditions and rituals in Japan. She was always gentle and encouraging with her teaching, providing insight in an engaging manner that everyone could grasp and find personally relevant. Not only did we see so much in two days, but we expanded our hearts and minds by choosing to share our limited time on this trip with Ms. Kaori. I’d most strongly encourage you to consider the same. There could not have been a better way to travel through the dense beauty of Kyoto and Osaka for our family. With gratitude, we will always remember these dream filled days. Thank you, All Star Osaka Walk! 🩷

Not for us, we had high hopes.
We didn’t enjoy our walk and it wasn’t what we expected. There were only 4 of us and Rika didn’t check what we might be interested in. Too long at Osaka Station, the garish Dontonburi area was plastic, the ‘tasting restaurant’ was dirty. We did enjoy walking through the old Geisha / theatre alley way and seeing the little Shinto & Buddist Temple/Shrine. Wouldn’t recommend, sorry Guide Rika.

Great way to spend a few hours in Osaka
This was an interesting tour. We definitely saw parts of Osaka we would not have visited on our own. It gave us a completely different feel for the city than we would have taken away from the standard tourist spots. Our guide was pleasant, informative, and definitely loved her city.

A great way to learn about Osaka, do this first!
A great way to get oriented in Osaka, both with history, where the yummy food is, and learning about the difference and etiquette of Shinto shrine and Buddhist temple. So good to be able to ask lots of questions as we walked. Guides were great!

    An Enjoyable Trip
Last year had an Osaka private tour with Kaori and enjoyed very much. This year Kyoto trip, we requested Kaori to be our tour guide again. She prioritised places we interested to visit most, briefing us the history of each site we visited. At the end of the tour, she would suggest the places that we can visit on our own. Very helpful. Too bad we have not enough time to spend one more day with her.

    Loved it.
We went at 4 PM and nobody was there! Wait for the tour buses to leave and it’s all to yourself. It’s beautiful and the hike is easy. One of my favorite things we did in Osaka. Pair it with the noodle company to make your own ramen and swim in the onsens at the resort at the top of the hill!

    A gem with a gentleman
Mr Ichiro Ando a.k.a. Ichi san of "All star Osaka" is a real gentleman and took my wife and I on a lovely morning walk to the beautiful Minoh waterfall, just outside Osaka. The pace was relaxed and the scenery was beautiful, making this hike a pleasant escape from the city. It was "sakura", so we were lucky to get to see the cherry trees in full blossom. The hiking trail passes through temples and shrines and is almost three kilometers-long. The walk is very easy, the fall itself is cozy and romantic. On the way back, Ichi san took us to lunch at this lady's place where we had delicious home-made food, sharing smiles and courtesies with the owner. We strongly recommend this 5-hour tour!

Nice variety of food, friendly and engaging servers along the route (known by the guide). Guide was very friendly, helping us with language along the way. We had sashimi at the fish market, along with a tour, a stop for deep-fried goodies, a quaint tea house hidden down an alley, and lunch at restaurant with some local cuisine different than anything known in American-Japanese restaurants.

This was a highlight of a my day trip to Osaka. Akie-San was a very well informed and gracious tour guide. Tried a wide variety of cuisines at various places, and managed to avoid the crowded tourist spots to go where the locals shop and eat instead. Yummy food and authentic experience. Highly recommended.

I've taken the food tour twice now with All Star Osaka Walk, and it's fantastic every time! My family and I loved it so much three years ago that when I came to Osaka with my boyfriend, I had to take him on it. All our guides have been lovely & knowledgeable (Minako, Ichiro, and Keiko). They brought us to a great range of different food in Osaka, from the morning fish market to try fresh sashimi & traditional side dishes, to a famous Okonomiyaki restaurant (so delicious!), to a cute kushikatsu place. I have now tried both the sake & dessert options at the end, and both are great. The dessert was delicious, and the sake place they brought us to was a beautiful old-fashioned cellar where we got to try three different types of sake. This tour allows you to see different neighborhoods of Osaka, as well as try almost all the famous Osakan dishes, so it's a great overview of the city. Even if you're only in Osaka for one day, do this tour!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Osaka food walking tour with Minako. There were plenty of food tasting stops and we had the opportunity to taste new foods such as raw sea urchin. The okonomiyaki lunch was very good and interesting to sit at the bbq bench and watch it being made. Another highlight was the fried food on skewers
(We chose cheeses, fish and pumpkin) sitting in the back of a 1960’s model VW Kombi van. Minako was a lovely guide, very informative and also humorous with good English. Highly recommend this tour.

I believe that you can get same experience from walking though markets on your own. Guide was great but think that if we were on our own we would have got to taste same food as they were giving tasting to tourists. Would have save money just walking though markets and stopping at interesting foods outlets.

Thank you very much for your review. We are so sorry we couldn't meet your expectation for the tour. We always would like to show the off the beaten tracks and help our guests understand locals and back ground of food culture. We guess our guide didn't tell enough to make each spot and food special. Your review will give us good clues to improve our tour. We need to discover more new and authentic eateries that hard to go by their own and how to tell why it's special. Thank you again. Did the night private tour with Akie. She was a really pleasant guide who had plenty of interesting nuggets to share about Osaka and insights into the best places to eat. She also has a pretty good command of English so that shouldn’t be a problem for people to understand her. Tour is customizable based on your preferences which really helps, especially if there are things you’ve done which you want to give a miss and Akie is very accommodating. Brought us to an excellent tempura joint and a sushi joint. Food quality was top notch. So good that I had to go back again on my own the next day. Restaurants are not your typical tourist joints and filled with locals for an authentic experience. Akie also showed us to various alleys out of sight for the general tourist which made for a great experience. Market tour was also good with Akie pointing out the best things to eat. Overall a 5 star experience. Would recommend to all and would definitely do it again. Tour price is inclusive of food and Akie doesn’t scrim on the food. Left the tour feeling absolutely stuffed.

We had an amazing time exploring Osaka with Aki on the Foodies Tour when we visited Japan on our Honeymoon. We ate our way around the city and learned so much about Japanese culture, both food-related and otherwise. In a city so full of delicious markets and restaurants, it's difficult as a tourist to know where to begin, but we were in good hands with Aki, visiting a range of authentic places with plenty of local charm.

We were only in Osaka on a Wednesday, and the website states that they normally don't run this tour on Wednesdays. When I enquired about this, we discovered that this was because the normal market visited on this tour isn't open on Weds. Nonetheless, Aki was so accommodating and took us to a different market instead, giving us a local's insight into the authentic stalls and foods. We then proceeded to explore the city, sampling all the delights Osaka has to offer. Aki was warm, friendly and knowledgeable, and we can't recommend her tours enough!

We had been told great things about the “Osaka 5 Hour Foodie Tour” by a close friend Aki was very easy to communicate with and had reserved an excursion for my wife and I on fairly short notice. Aki met us at our hotel at 9:30 AM the next day and off to the fish market via metro we went. It was a great experience from start to finish. We stopped for Fugu (blowfish), we stopped into a stall that sold whale meat, we had katsu (deep fried meat and veggies), we sampled countless delicacies along the way, we played with a live octopus and we had delicious cabbage pancakes. Aki also helped us to do a bit of shopping along the way (swim goggles, and Japanese curry). It was a great way to experience Osaka and we can’t recommend the tour highly enough. All the food is included and the metro fare’s we included in our JR rail passes. Aki went above and beyond and I think the tour lasted closer to 6 hours. If you love food and have a 1/2 day in Osaka, this is a great way to spend it!
