Chako was a great tour guide. She was very friendly and helpful. We learned so much from her. I have vented Kyoto three times before, but never knew all of the background knowledge.

So glad we booked our visit with a guide. The tour far exceeds expectations as we learned not only the rich history of the Castle and Palace but our guide answered any questions we had and was super friendly!

The tour guide was wonderful and guided the small group through the gion well with great stories and history of the area.

This was an opportunity to catch a magical glimpse a world few will have the privilege to experience in their lifetime. We began the evening with a guide who met us at the theatre and took us on a walking tour around Gion. We were shown several teahouses and Geisha boarding houses which would not be apparent to a foreigner. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable (and also entertaining!). She made us feel very welcome and also taught us lots about Japan in general, in addition to the Geisha culture. We were taken to a private Teahouse, also a boarding house for several Maiko, where we were introduced to two Maiko and a Geiko. We ate a lovely dinner and (through our guide/translator) asked questions and conversed. The Maiko performed enchanting dances for us, and showed us different elements of their kimono. We played a drinking game, and the Geiko also played a stringed instrument and sang for us. We won't post too many photos because we want you to experience it first hand as we did. It really was like stepping back in time. We will never forget this night.

Really enjoyable and informative tour around the quieter streets of Gion. Our guide was excellent and well informed answering our many questions. We completed the tour very happy to walked some very atmospheric streets, caught glimpses of geiko and maiko and feeling a lot more informed

Mie was an amazing fun informative guide who brought the Castle and Palace to life. The amazing sites were enriched with insights to Japanese culture and history. A wonderful tour of incredible sites. Okini Mie!

Chaka was a fantastic tour guide very informative and we were lucky enough to see 5 Geiko-San / Maiko-San. I would definitely recommend this tour and guide

This was a great walking tour where our guide provided a good amount of history into the Japanese cultural background along with the Geikosons. I did feel that the perspective was leaning in favor of the rich history of the Japanese. I could be completely wrong but it felt as if there may have been some things left out.

Excellent tour. Our guide was lovely, unfortunately I can’t remember her name. We found out so much about the history of the area. I highly recommend this tour.

The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to (spoke excellent English). Tour was 2hrs which was a perfect amount of time. Kids 11 and 15 enjoyed too, We even spotted five geishas!

We had a great evening walking all around the Gion district. Mia was very entertaining and informative. We were fortunate and got to see several geikos and maikos. Great night.

We had a great tour with a very informative guide. It is so necessary to have somebody tell you details about these places since just going to the castle doesn’t give you much in terms of history and other details. Our guide was very animated and knowledgeable so it was all very interesting.

Booked this tour then 1 hr later the company cancelled our booking. We still received ticket information and email to review. Haven’t checked if we where refunded yet but booked a free tour with kyoto localized which was fantastic. Don’t recommend

The tour was super nice and informative, our guide was open to questions which I was bombarding her with :) Highly recommended!
