      Must-do experience in Osaka!
What an amazing experience! Not only do you get to make delicious local food, but Yayo takes the time to explain cultural significance and regional differences of all the prepared dishes, which gives a great context to the culinary culture of Osaka. She is also a great conversationalist in both English and Japanese, and I had a blast cooking up dishes and chatting with Yayo. Highly recommended experience for anyone who wants a deeper appreciation for the diverse delicacies of Osaka cuisine!

      Amazing
An amazing encounter with Yayo: we really learned hands-on how to prepare these beautiful dishes. Yayo had prepared the equipment and ingredients. She gave us plenty of explanations. She is incredibly welcoming and attentive. A beautiful cultural and personal encounter. Our best evening in Osaka.

Come hungry and prepared to learn
An incredible experience with a talented and humorous cook. She made us feel very welcome in her home. The food was oishi. (Hope that is the correct word). Would recommend it to everyone. I would add pictures but if I had consent from the other couple, but we are definitely all smiling and happy

A great way to prepare to continue your Japanese experience when leaving Japan.
Our host was such a lovely woman, friendly and able to answer our many questions throughout the lesson. The venue was well set up. The instructions for preparing the various meals were simple and clear. A good pace to the session. We loved the personalised attention to detail all the way through. We are now prepared for shopping for the ingredients and making the dishes from abroad.

      Entertaining and educational cooking class.
I had a wonderful time with Yayo during her cooking class. She provided clear directions on where to meet and then we walked to her apartment (about 2 blocks away). I was lucky enough to be the only one in this session so it was nice to have one on one time to ask a lot of questions. Her English was very good. Only a few times did we have to work through some words of confusion. We made Miso Soup, Dashimaki, Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, Taiyaki and Matcha. There was so much food to eat. Make sure you go hungry! Thankfully she packed up the leftovers for me to take along back to the hotel with me. The entire experience was fascinating; learning to cook Japanese food, but also seeing her apartment and gaining an appreciation for what a typical Japanese home and kitchen looks like. I highly recommend this class. It's fun and educational. Definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.

      Great experience !!
Yayo was wonderful! She met us at the ltrain station exit and walked us 2 blocks to her spotless apartment. We learned how to make numerous dishes. Her MOTHER had made a lot of the traditional ingredients (miso paste, soy sauce, plum sake), in the traditional way. So cool!!! Yayo explained everything so well, then we cooked and ate it. Delicious! A sweet little surprise of special gifts for at the end. This one one of the highlights of our trip.

      Best Cooking Class in Japan!
Yayo was such an exceptional chef and teacher! She was SO kind and taught us how to cook one of the BEST meals we had our entire time in Japan. We were so full when we left, so come hungry!!! I loved how she taught the traditional way to cook things and how to take short cuts at home for recreating it. What a meal! What GREAT company and if you are wanting an authentic Osaka experience around food- THIS IS IT!!! Thank you Yayo for being so kind and wonderful with our 2 kids (age 10 and 12 ) as well!! Wish we could give you 10 stars!!! Your cooking class was one of our families' absolute favorite things we did during our Japan trip. Mahalo!

This is such a cute class and I learned a lot about Japanese cooking. I wish I was there to see Ayano (the doggy), but she was taking a leave of absence.
I booked very last minute and Yayo was very accommodating. I did the same pairings as well and I loved every single one of them! One thing I would suggest is when Yayo asks about preferences, let her know in advance anything you would like to try in advanced, like uni (sea urchin) or hotate (scallop). Overall, I would definitely try this again!

Visited Osaka with a group of friends, and my Boyfriend. And we all agreed to book this Class with YAYO. One of the best experiences ever. She was so organized, lovely presentation of Sushi. I still have my origami she gifted us at the end of the course. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to that area.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when Yayo had to change the location of our cooking class to her cooking studio in her house, but I was very pleasantly surprised! She picked us out at the train station and walked us back to her studio where she offered us slippers and place for our things and we were greeted by her adorable pup, Akane (who can be elsewhere if you’re not a fan of dogs- you just have to let her know ahead of time).

Her place was clean and spacious and she had us all set up to go! Given the name, I expected that we would just be making sushi, but she included miso soup, a Japanese style omelet, a green tea ceremony, and a sweet dessert (waffle with red bean paste). Most of the ingredients we used were freshly made by her. Oh and did I mention we were also a given a sake tasting?

Not only is Yayo sweet, but she’s an exec Ellen chef and teacher. The food was delicious and she even sent us with a little doggy bag of what we didn’t finish plus origami cranes with our names in Japanese. She made everything so personalized!! I truly enjoyed this experience and would do it again in a heartbeat!

This is a must do when visiting the Osaka area. The three of us had a wonderful time with Yayo, who is such a great encouraging instructor, and is so nice and sweet you don’t want to leave. The sushi was amazing and the background provided by Yayo on the ingredients and traditional Japanese customs are priceless. If you are a foodie and a sushi lover, sign up for this class.

This was SUCH a wonderful experience - every single part of it. We made a variety of different traditional Japanese dishes and they all tasted wonderful, especially after learning more about the history and background of each one. The instructions are explained thoroughly, and with photos and demonstrations. Don't even think twice about booking this experience!

Yayo was very nice brought me up from the train station to her lovely house. I met Akane, a cute little dog. Akane was with us all the times, quietly resting on her spot. Yayo was a very patient teacher. She explained every ingredients using for the miso soup, sake drink, matcha (powdered green tea), dashimaki (egg), red bean waffle and sushi. I enjoyed chatting with Yayo about Japanese culture, the language and the food. She was wonderful and explained to me every ingredients traditionally made. The food are very delicious. I could not resist and ate all 10 pieces sushi I made. We took many pictures and these will be a very good memory for me. I definitely recommend Yayo's sushi class to my friends.
