This has been one of the highlights on my Osaka trip. Yayo is super nice and fun. She is generous with time and you can see during the lesson that great attention to details has been given. I find that cooking Japanese food is particularly fun compared to other cousines. Great way to taste food at highest quality and learn about culture. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at this cooking class! Yayo is an excellent instructor and we learned a lot about the local cuisine and traditions. Yayo’s English was very good and we felt very welcomed and comfortable during the class. All the ingredients we used for making the food were very fresh, and the dishes we made were delicious. Definitely come hungry because it’s a lot of food! It was a great time making food with Yayo and Akane! I would highly recommend this experience!

Yayo met us promptly at her local train station and made us feel very welcome on the walk to her house.

My husband, two teenage boys and myself had a very enjoyable evening learning to cook Japanese food with Yayo, her sister and of course Yayo's "supervisor" Arkane. Yayo was very friendly and hospitable and informed us of many Japanese customs while we were cooking. We really enjoyed the food that we made and were impressed by how friendly and organised Yayo was.

A definite highlight of our trip to Osaka.

What an amazing experience. Yayo is fantastic and a highly welcoming teacher. She engages well, is great at explaining and the value for money is very good. We thoroughly enjoyed making traditional Osaka recipes and learning about the history. We also tried 4 sake and 1 beer with our dinner. Easy to find at the meeting point, and it was great to learn about Osaka generally. Note: The class is in an apartment- but not purpose built for cooking - it’s not lived in. Yayo was very generous at the end of the evening and gave us some lovely gifts at the end. Thank you so much Yayo- an absolute highlight!!!!

The instructor was warm, genuine, and exceptionally friendly. I loved how she would explain how each ingredient was made and give all sorts of interesting information regarding each dish. The food itself tasted great and the overall cooking experience was definitely enjoyable! If you go to Osaka, I would definitely recommend trying this cooking class. 5 stars!

Mu husband and I took Yayo's cooking class and learned how to make traditional Osaka recipes. It was a great way to learn about the food and the culture. I cannot wait to try these recipes at home. Yayo is fabulous. She is a wonderful teacher and a very thoughtful person. At the end of lunch she taught us about the traditional tea ceremony. I recommend this to anyone visiting Osaka.

Booked this class as it had the local dishes (okonomiyaki & takoyaki), but did not expect to learn so much more as well in such a short time; the matcha ceremony, taiyaki, miso soup and Japanese omelette...Yayo-sensei was amazing!
I was also very happy to taste a homemade umeshu, just like in the Japanese film "Our Little Sister". The next time we are in Osaka we will definitely try her sushi class!
