We spontaneously booked this tour and we are happy we did! Even though we had 33°C, it was an amazing tour! Our guide Phillippe knew a lot of historical things to tell and showed us very nice nature areas along the river, beautiful zen gardens at the silver pavilion as well as at Heian Shrine but also the Gion district where he told us of Geisha's life. Due to the temperature we arrived very exhausted but happy! We highly recommend this tour to every tourist!

Phillip was a great tour leader. He was very laid back and he demonstrated a true love for the city and its history and culture. He lead us along paths and laneways would not have otherwise seen. I went with my husband and two teens 13, and 14 years. We rode in a group totalling 8 people. We really enjoyed the day. We also enjoyed hopping off the bikes and exploring shrines and gardens on foot in particular Ginkakuji Precinct.

Very knowledgeable tour guide, passionate about Kyoto, Japan and Japanese culture in general. Explanations were great both about Geishas and all the shrines we saw during the walk. Overall a great and worth tour.

Great experience, saw a few geishas and the whole area. Our guide was great and showed us very special places. For instance a stone used to crawl through in order to get rid of a bad habit and afterwards make a commitment to yourself what you want to do instead.

Wonderful tour guide. Great insight into the people, culture and life of a geisha. A blend of history, religion, stories. Lots of questions answered.

We were met at the train station by Niall who guided us through to the van. We went to the markets, ate some amazing food, bought some personalised chopsticks, then did a tour of the ninja museum. After this we went to a shrine, then a zen garden before a quick stop off in a historical area of Kyoto. In one day we saw so much!

Nial is THE BEST guide we had in Japan. He knew soo much about Kyoto and the history and constantly feeded us with nice stories. We visited places where tourist never come and heard stroies you cant find on the Internet. Highly recommended!

Great tour!! Philippe was amazing, and very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to accommodate some oddballs in the group so that everyone could have a great experience. The bike ride was fun, we got to see lots of the city. Great tour guide, highly recommend!!

Philippe was an awesome guide! So friendly and full of information. Bicycle was a great way to get around Kyoto quickly while also being able to take in plenty of sights; however, we would've been totally lost and not had the confidence to travel the places we went alone — thanks for being our guide, Philippe! The temple, shrine, and gardens he took us to were positively breathtaking. And the insights he was able to provide just made the visits that much more interesting and special. He was also extremely patient with all of the photos I wanted to take and even took many of me and my husband for us. An unexpected bonus of having Philippe as our guide was that he is vegetarian and was able to help me find great food options for lunch! He even shared a some of his natto (fermented soybean) sushi with me since I had never tried it before. Thank you, Philippe!!
