Amazing experience on the Fushimi Inari Hidden Hiking Tour with tour guide Manabu. He was very informative, nice and patient with our group when we got sidetracked. Loved his amusing accents and knowledge of countries all over from India to Lithuania. He was very inclusive and made our group feel like one big family. His enthusiasm spread through the group, and he took us to many sites we could never have found by ourselves. He also answered all of our (many) questions, and took time explaining them in detail, even stopping at a shrine that our group found interesting to give us more information. We got little fortunes at the end of the tour, and Manabu even translated those for us which was very nice and unexpected! It was great overall and we enjoyed Manubu’s instruction. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Fushimi Inari and nearby shrines. Thanks Manabu!

Akiko san was a really great guide and we really enjoyed this experience. It was a great mix of insider information, nature, activity and sightseeing. Akiko san was also very articulate on the backstory of each stop.

Hikari-san was an amazing guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and with a keen eye for special spots to take photos! I learned a lot from her along the way.

The tour itself was a once in a lifetime experience. You feel a deep sense of peace and connection to the environment of this special place. I particularly loved coming across the bamboo grove, and popping out almost at the very top of the mountain to amazing views of Kyoto.

This was my first trip to Japan and this tour was most definitely the highlight. I would recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in nature, hiking and culture. Shiori, our guide, was so knowledgeable and friendly and was only too happy to answer any questions our group had and took plenty of lovely pictures of everyone. When we finished the tour, we noticed how much busier it had gotten but while we were on the tour, it really felt so quiet and peaceful - as though we had the whole place to ourselves. I feel very lucky to have been able to have had such an insightful experience into this iconic shrine. Thank you again, Shiori!

This was an excellent tour and hike up the back way to Fushimi Inari - the very popular shrine with thousands of orange gates and even more tourists. Our guide Yuya was so friendly and knowledgeable. He led us on the beautiful hike up the back of the mountain away from the throngs of people - must be in moderate shape for this one as it is a lot of uphill dirt trail and steps that were muddy and slippery at parts, but Yuya was patient with us slower hikers. He also stopped to take everyone’s photos at nice spots he suggested, which was very appreciated and resulted in the best photos of us from our trip. We are so glad we did this as we got to enjoy the quieter parts of the shrine that were even more beautiful than the more popular parts closer to the entrance (which we also covered) and we got to experience the beautiful mountain and forest (including a secluded bamboo forest). Yuya also gave us great suggestions for restaurants and other activities. Highly recommend.

This tour was one of the absolute highpoints of our holiday. Yoko was extremely well informed about the area and the significance of everything we saw and we learnt so much about the culture and the 'religion', and a quirky personality as well. The hike itself was beautiful away from the crowds and yet to the three peaks. Finishing with the very crowded '1000 Tori gates' was so much better than starting there. Thank you Yoko

This was a gorgous trip to take in the fall. I would defiitely recommend going around that time to see the autumn leaves.

Akiko-san made the trip perfect by knowing how to avoid crowds. We were able to take perfect pictures without anyone in the background.

Akiko-san was also very informative about the history of the shrine and answereed all my questions with the nuance that only a local would know.

It was the highlight of my trip to Kyoto and I would definitely recommend this tour, esepcially during high tourism in fall and spring

We were very much looking forward to this trip, as it was a beautiful day in Kyoto. Unfortunately, our guide never showed up and we were left standing outside the train station for over an hour. There is no number to call for customer service, so I sent an email. The response was that we should wait longer while they contact the guide. The next response was that they were processing our refund. The entire operation was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.

Akiko and Miki were amazing guides and fun to talk with. They took many great pictures of me and shared a lot of knowledge about the area. The hike through the backside of the mountain was so peaceful and felt like a secret spot with no other visitors. 100% would recommend to all travelers to really get the most out of a visit to Fushimi Inari.

This trip was truly one of a kind! Our very knowledgeable and informative guide Akiko made today’s experience that much more wonderful and memorable. She took the time to explain many details and significance of the shrine and brought alive the Shinto religion. One suggestion - do wear good hiking shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy and do be prepared for a pretty challenging climb! Overall a great experience!
