Night foodie tour
Akiko was an amazing guide. Going with her was like hanging out with a friend. She is an excellent conversationalist and knowledgeable about history and current events. She is kind, warm, and immediately put me at ease while I was getting accustomed to Japan. She gave me many tips to enjoy the rest of my vacation. The restaurants were tasty and provided excellent service. I can’t believe 3 hours flew by just like that! Take this tour with Akiko- you will not regret it.

Humorous and Patient
Nov 2019
Deekay is very humourous & patient guide made the whole exploration an immersive experience without feeling rushed or restricted. Him being an ex-pat living in Japan brought new conversation topics and insights to how living in Japan is like. Highly recommend his services again!

You are missing out if you don't book this guide. Seriously.
Feb 2020
You will remember every moment of the outing. Every bite of food and sip of drink. Every street we walked and restaurant we visited. It was such a wonderful trip, one of the highlights of our time in Kyoto. Our guide was very smart, polite, and knowledgeable. She helped us to understand not only Japanese history, but also the everyday lives of Japanese citizens in our modern times.

Our fellow guests on the tour were very interesting. There were five of us total and it made for an excellent time. The conversation was excellent, and one of the dishes we tried, a local duck dish made from a breed half-farmed half-wild, was the best duck dish I have savored in the last ten years.

You would never discover such an opportunity without a guide from Magical Tours. Don't hesitate - just book it!

An Amazing Night In Kyoto
Dec 2019
Since we were arriving in Kyoto on my husband's birthday, we wanted something special to do and given that it was December 30th, we knew it was unlikely that we would be able to secure reservations on our own anywhere we'd like to go. I found Magical Trip online and decided to try the Night Foodie Tour which we hoped would introduce us to out-of-the-way places we might otherwise never find on our own. We were not disappointed in the least!

Ken, our guide, was SUPER friendly and sociable, providing interesting and informative stories of the area throughout the night. And the locations we visited were top-notch, especially the place where we had dinner...as foreigners we definitely wouldn't have found that place, much less been allowed in were we on our own. We absolutely loved everything about the night and will definitely consider taking another tour the next time we visit Japan! Thank you Ken!

Great tour of Kyoto
Oct 2019 • Family
We wanted something a little different when we were staying in Kyoto and this tour was excellent. The group size was just right. We went to some great places we would not have known about and had lots of different food and drink. We even went back to one of the places we saw the following night for dinner. Yuki was a great tour guide - friendly and knowledgeable and spoke good English. My son (aged 13 at the time) still talks about this tour a year later! I would definitely recommend.
