Our tour with Japan Wonder Travel was excellent. We did the Kyoto Food Walking Tour in Nishiki Market and Gion with Fushimi Inari Shrine. Our tour guide Yasuna was very knowledgeable about all the food we had and the history of Japan(Her English was great). We were able to experience different foods we would have never tried on our own. Like Tofu Skin and Tofu Donuts. Delicious. The walk was pleasant but make sure to bring good shoes like they say. Pack bug spray if you plan on walking the whole Inari Shrine path. Bring extra Yen to purchase extra goodies during the tour. We really enjoyed being able to length and the direction our tour guide took us on. We were able to see other restaurants we would try another day. She also helped us figure our train route back to our hotel. We look forward to coming to Kyoto again and trying another tour.

First thing, if you are a foodie, best to go with an empty stomach before you get there. Especially Nishiki Market, it certainly deserves to its nickname “Kyoto Kitchen”, all the thing you can find in it. The last stop, Fushimi Inari Shrine was stunning, those numerous red Tori gate were really impressive. Hiromi, our guide, was really nice and informative! Not only took us to find amazing food but also introducing the culture and history for us in Kyoto. If you want to find a fun tour, here you go. Really a great and memorable experience. Highly recommend!

While the programmed tour was lovely, most of what was best was unexpected. Two lovely fellow travelers from India, a once-in-a-lifetime perfect shot of the Inari gates and a wonderful guide. The message is "Just get out there!"

We had a wonderful day with Yasuna touring the Nishiki Market. We got special treatment at many shops and were able to sample several things we would have not tried. It was very informative and we learned how to pray at the temples which was very helpful. It was so nice to have someone with us who spoke English and could answer the many questions we had and explained things we would not even known to ask! Spending the afternoon on tour was truly a highlight of our Kyoto stay.

Good walking through markets. Got to taste foods that I wouldn't if I was doing it on my own. The Gion area was pretty, especially, we were the for Sukura (cherry blossom). We could have had a bit more time at both places while walking through there particularly at that time of year as it was really busy. I would recommend doing the extra bit of the tour to Fushimi Shrine. It topped the morning. We good amount of time there.
