This is a day tour to the 3 most popular temples and shrines in Kyoto. Know that they are going to be crowded. Our guide Casey made it very fun, informative and easy.
We ended up returning early Sunday morning to Fushimi Shrine to hike the 1000 gates to the top of Mt Inari. It was worth getting up early and arriving at the Shrine at 7:00am. We beat the crowds and had a beautiful, slightly challenging hike up the mountain.

The sites were all very interesting to visit and walk through, but we did feel a bit rushed in the time frame to see all the things. The bus that transported from site to site was comfortable, and the tour guide had a lot of good information to share. Her microphone was a bit spotty, but she answered all questions we had very nicely.

The tour was well organised and professional. Our guide “Jessie” was friendly and knowledgeable, and spoke good English. Jessie also told us some interesting things about her family and modern life in Japan.
We had about 45 minutes at Heian Shrine, about 1 hour at Sanjusangendo, and about 1 hour at Kiyomizu Temple. This was enough time to enjoy them all.
It was winter but the weather was warm and the locations weren’t crowded. But I think that during other seasons the locations would be quite crowded.
I recommend this tour 😀👍🏻
