      Lovely experience
The class was a lot of fun, we learned to make two types of cute wagashi sweets, and even though the teacher's sweets were obviously perfect ours came out really cute too. Yuki-sensei was lovely and patient, she guided us through the whole process and gave us the recipe to try making wagashi ourselves back at home (and even introduced us to her gorgeous cat!). We definitely hope to come back to take more of her classes on our next trip to Sapporo!

      Very Fun Dessert Shaping
This was really fun! Yuki did a great job of explaining each step and demonstrating what to do. Mine definitely didn't turn out as nice as the demo, but I was still very happy with it. Working with the bean paste reminded of playing with play-doh, but the technique we used were much more advanced and it tasted much better!

      Wagashi Class in Sapporo
Yuki was a very welcoming host and we had fun learning a few techniques for making traditional japanese sweets. She left us the recipe, so we will try it out when back home

      Great experience!
I was always interested in making wagashi and I was happy to find Yuki's class. Me and my friends made wagashi with Yuki and we had so much fun. She taught us many different techniques and it looked beautiful in the end. Would definitely recommend this class!

      Great beautiful experience!!!
Great!!! I would like to thank Yukisan so much! She taught my 3-year-old daughter and me the basics of nerikiri, traditional Japanese wagashi sweets, with incredible patience, kindness, care, and attention. She welcomed us into a beautiful home surrounded by a meticulously cared-for flower garden. It was a wonderful experience that we will always cherish. We look forward to returning soon for more lessons with her.

      Crafting sweets
We loved meeting Yuki 🙂 and felt welcomed into her home. The desserts were made from only one ingredient, bean paste, learning the technique was fun.

      Sign up in a heartbeat!
Yuki-san was such a lovely host to us! She greeted us on a cold winter day with hot green tea and an equally warm smile and personality. We made decorative sushi in the morning and then wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) afterwards. The decorative sushi was casual, lighthearted fun as we constructed several smaller parts before assembling all of the elements into the final product. On the other hand, the wagashi lesson was truly an eyeopener, as you experience firsthand how difficult it is to create a perfect and beautiful piece of japanese handmade sweet. Overall, we were blown away by the level of respect given in food preparation, and that translates to a generally deeper appreciation of the japanese food we eat. Yuki made the entire experience easy to understand and accessible! Would highly recommend! P.S. For cat-lovers, you'd be pleased to know that Yuki has a lovely and sociable Maine coon as well!

      great!!
It was so much fun, and the time passed so quickly. What I made was completely different from what the teacher made, but I felt satisfied and my stomach was satisfied.

I had a lot of fun during the session, and the teacher taught me kindly, making it a great memory. The teacher's house was also beautiful, and it was nice to be able to visit a Japanese house.

Learning sushi making at a Japanese home
Yuki is friendly and professional. I learnt sushi making with my 10 years old daughter Holly. Yuki managed to guide us step by step. We enjoyed it very much. The flower design of the sushi amazed us. It is just wonderful. Yuki's house is modernly designed and it is so comfortable to sit down and chat.

      Relaxed and fun experience!
We were picked up at the train station and driven to the instructor's home. There we made dashi, omelets, onigiri, two kinds of sushi rolls, and shabu shabu beef. We had originally signed up for the 2.5 hour class without the onigiri and shabu shabu, but contacted her prior to arriving and added those. With each of the foods we had several options for adjusting ingredients, taste, etc. After everything was made we sat down and enjoyed our lunch. When we were finished, we sat and visited for a while before the instructor and her husband delivered us back to the station. The instructor's English was excellent! It was very fun and enjoyable being in their home. I had been a little anxious that it would be awkward to spend so much time with people I had never met before, but we felt as though we were long time friends. We had a great time, and will definitely make the foods we learned about for our family. I would very much recommend this experience.

The lady was very kind and patient. She served us green tea as well and was overall very polite! Even with my grandma who had dementia, she was very patient with her and also slowly guided us all through the steps. She was also very flexible with her schedule

I am an Irishman living in Tokyo and spent a week recently in beautiful Sapporo.
Before my visit I discovered Yuki's website and then e-mailed her. She picked
me up at Makomanai subway station and drove me to and from her workshop.
I am a big student of sushi preparation and spent several wonderful relaxing
hours under the guidance of Yuki who is an excellent teacher of sushi roll design.
I recommend anybody to visit her workshop if you are planning to visit Sapporo.

We love to taking cooking classes in the countries we visit. Not only do we learn culinary techniques and flavors, but the people teaching us are always so kind. It is very rewarding to interact with foreigners this way, as all differences melt away with the engagement and experience of the lesson. Yuki was so helpful arranging directions to the class, held at a local cafe named Piano Piano. It was a very snowy morning but we hoofed it over in about twenty minutes from Nakajima Park using Google maps to locate the restaurant, and were greeted warmly by Ms. Satomi, our Japanese instructor. She had everything prepared and laid out in a small classroom that was heated. All ingredients were fresh and the prep area was sparkling clean. Satomi paid much attention to cleanliness and translation to ensure that we were comfortable and understood the explanation of rolling the rice in nori sheets and compacting them tightly. We so appreciated the extra attention and conversation she provided such as the proper way to slice the delicate rolls as we completed the beautiful sushi.
