Kayleigh was incredibly helpful from start to finish. Quicky to respond and as helpful as she could possibly be. She even went to great lengths to help us to get back to Shanghai at the end of our tour (we were stuck in snow in Shang-ri-la), even though we hadn't booked our flights through her. The guides were each local and were not only very happy to do what we wanted to, but gave us so much helpful and interesting information. All spoke excellent English and again, nothing was too much trouble for them. The driver was lovely and we felt very safe, and the hotels were excellent. The tour was very well-balanced and I really don't think I could have improved on it. We were so grateful to the whole team for the way they looked after us, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We are a family of 12 flying into China from different countries at different times and meeting in Qingdao where we started our 7D6N Shandong trip. Fiona of Wonders of Yunnan Travel has been super responsive, attentive and patient at answering each of our requests, advising and planning our itinerary, and helping us to organise our train journey before and after our tour. We are extremely grateful to Fiona, without her, our trip to Shandong would not have been so smooth. In Qingdao, we visited the famous Tsingtao Brewery Museum ( tasting the freshly brewed beer is a must), small fish hill, Badaguan Scenic area, Museum of the Former German Governor's Residence and Mount Lao (birthplace of Taoism). Then we took a three and half hours high speed train from Qingdao to Tai'An where we visited the Dai Temple and visited Mount Tai (Taishan), a UNESCO site. Only 2 youngest members of the group climbed to the peak of Mount Tai in 4 hours and the rest of us took the cable car. It is a very beautiful site. And the highlight of the day is the outdoor live performance "Taishan Fengchan Ceremony", recreating the fengchan ceremony scene of the emperors of different dynasties. The performance, taking Taishan history and culture as the core and Taishan natural landscape as the background, fully demonstrates the unique value and profound connotation of Taishan culture. There are English subtitles. We all enjoyed this live performance very much. Then we visited Qufu - hometown of Confucius. We visited the Confucius Temple, Confucius mansion and the family tomb of Confucius (total area of 2000 hectares and 100,000 tombs) where Confucius was buried in. Barry, our tour guide is excellent! He is very caring, energetic, helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the food at restaurants recommended by Barry. Without him, our trip would not have been filled with so much fun and laughters! This is my second time engaging Wonders of Yunnan Travel. I will surely recommend Wonders of Yunnan Travel to friends and relatives. I am already planning my next trip to China with Wonders of Yunnan Travel this coming October.

Apart from the sightseing and the beauty of the area I've appreciated the punctual and precise organisation. After our trip had finished, our flight out of Shangri-La was cancelled due to snow, and Kaylee helped us to cancel, refund and rebook flights to get back to Shanghai that evening! We booked a trip for our friends in Europe from Wonders of Yunnan. Kaylee was very patient and helpful in adjusting the proposal to the requirements of our friends. All were arranged very nicely from arrival to departure. They also arranged a birthday cake for one of our friends. Very attentive. I contacted Wonders of Yunnan when I was considering a brief weekend trip to China during a business trip to Malaysia. I got excellent advice in response to my questions from Melanie at Wonders of Yunnan which helped me to see that my plans were unrealistic, so I did not make the trip after all. Melanie was very helpful even though I did not ever purchase anything from her or her agency. As it turns out, however, I planned a much longer trip for the following year and Melanie helped me through all my questions over several months. She considered all my requirements and provided lots of advice, creating the perfect tour for me as a solo photographer. Then, several months before the trip, I got into a relationship and invited my partner, making this a couple's trip. Melanie took care of all of the logistics for me and offered relevant advice again. During the trip itself, our driver was very good at helping us through the trip, although now the itinerary, which I had set up expecting to travel alone, did not suit us as a couple so well! This was not the fault of Melanie, the driver, or Wonders of Yunnan, of course. My partner and I decided to change our vacation to go to Bali instead, and the driver and Wonders of Yunnan were very flexible in helping us change our plans mid-trip. Definitely a wonderful experience all the way through! Highly recommended.

We contacted several travel agencies about an 11-day custom tour in Yunnan. We are very glad we chose Wonders of Yunnan. Our travel consultant Kaylee was prompt and clear in her responses, made excellent suggestions re.an itinerary and arranged guides, drivers, train tickets and superior accommodations. She designed a great trip for us. Our guides (Sissy in Kunming, Stephan in Dali, and Brandon in Lijiang) were excellent. Well-informed and flexible, they were quite open to our preferences and willing to make adjustments to our itinerary accordingly. For example, knowing my interest in Buddhism, upon arrival, Stephan suggested an old Buddhist temple in Dali; Brandon suggested switching our last day from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Lijiang Old Town - unexpected rain that last day made his suggestion to be an unexpectedly brilliant one....plus he arranged to get us the last two first-class seats on an earlier train to Kunming - most helpful!; and, Sissy was exceptional. A pleasure to be with, she understood and shares my passion for good tea and arranged for us to visit an excellent shop where I was able to taste and purchase some unusually high quality teas...a highlight I continue to enjoy. All, including our drivers, Mr. Dao and Mr. Shen, were committed to ensuring a great experience for us. An added plus: my wife is sometimes unsteady on her feet, and all our guides took care to make sure she was comfortable and safe. This kind of attention meant a lot to me. When Sissy met us on a Sunday afternoon, at the train upon our return to Kunming, we thanked her for her flexibility in changing her plans with her family to accommodate our earlier, unplanned arrival. She responded: "We're professionals." That sums it up quite well. We had a great time in Yunnan and thank all those at Wonders of Yunnan who made it possible - we could not have made this most memorable trip without you.

Lijiang has two old towns, both are totally commercialized. However, you may still find clues about ancient Chinese culture and history among the old buildings. The residence of Mu's family is a place must see. Dali's Buddhism temple and pagodas are the essence of the city. As for the old city. only those main gates are still standing, inside the old city, all you can see are stores and people. These two old towns are for people who speaks Mandarin and knows Chinese history and culture, otherwise you won't appreciate the uniqueness of its multi-aboriginal background and tradition.

We booked a tailor made tour on short notice and our booking request was efficiently handled by Zoie. All details settled over a few days. Very efficient. We were very satisfied with the arrangements in both Lijiang and Guilin/Yuangshuo, and our guides Brendon and Fei are both pleasant, knowlegdeable and dedicated. I am happy to give my recommendations to all three. One area of improvement for Wonders of Yunnan is about safety belts in the cars. In both cars that was used during our tour, there were not proper three point seat belts for all passengers. My recommendation is that Wonders of Yunnan sets three point seat belts as a requirement for engagement for all cars that they use for their activity - and that it is followed up that the seat belts are in good condition. During our tour, we experienced one car incident. Luckily, only the car was damaged and no one was hurt. Our sons that was in the car at the time of the accident made their own arrangements back to the hotel. However, the incident made my concern about the seat belts more “real” .

It was the family's first trip to Yunnan and we were not quite sure what to expect in terms of the logistics and transport arrangements. Kaylee, our travel consultant was so patience in working out the best fit itinerary for our family ( I dropped her numerous requests and she even replied me outside her normal working time! ) The “non typical” tourist route she has recommended us for our short visit to Yunnan had given us a wonderful and memorable experience.
