We had a private tour of 3 people with Michael Ma. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who is considering to visit Xi'An and wanting to know more about the area and its history. Michael was accommodating and detail-oriented. He was energetic, well-versed and passionate about the history of Xi'An, Shaanxi. His command of English was great and also a good storyteller. We went through the museum in 4 and half hours without feeling bored. He knows how to take care of his clients, and looks attentively to take care of their needs. Thanks Michael.

We had a fantastic time in Xi’an and Michael’s vegan food tour was an absolute highlight! Being a vegan in China and not speaking mandarin can be tough but with this tour I was able to try so many local dishes. Michael took us to so many cool spots and hole-in-the-wall street food vendors that we would never have found on our own. We loved it and I would highly recommend this to everyone!

Michael was on time, professional and generous with his time, we went through the key exhibits and the background to each dynasty. He was knowlegeable and proficient in English. We went during the off peak season in November so it was a rather nice and leisurely pace with not too many people as we were there from 11.30 am to 2 pm. Pieces wise, having visited both locations of Shaanxi History Museum, I would rate the new Qin Han Museum as worth it to go from ease of booking, and getting tickets, a nice leisurely experience. But the number of national treasures pale in contrast to the first SHM, which would still have majority of the treasures. We were glad we went anyhow. If you are doing this for the first time definitely get a guide as it would be more focused.

The tour itself was fantastic; Michael and driver arrived promptly and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. Michael is so friendly and his knowledge of the city and tour destinations was extensive, happily answering all of our many questions. Michael was a marvelous guide on this tour through Xi’an’s culinary world. As a long time resident of the city he provided insights on the city and the food I was eating. The food itself was delicious and included dishes like the pita bread lamb soup, soup dumplings, and the renowned Xi’an burger. I can highly recommend this tour to anybody who seeks to taste Xi’an’s signature food and an evening in great company.

Very informative tour, with an excellent range of Xi'an cuisine sampled throughout, in various sections of the city. I didn't spend a lot of time in Xi'an, but this gastronomic tour was definitely well worth it!

We booked a last minute tour with Michael two nights before our trip to xi'an. I was initially worried about our small group that varies in age, fitness and language differences. But Michael made it so fun and interactive. My parents loved chatting about ancient China's history with Michael and discussing real estate development around the city. My husband enjoyed making jokes together with Michael and being introduced with all types of xi'an famous snacks and noodles. Michael is genuine, thoughtful, hard working and respectful. So does our driver Mr. Ting. The trip was seamless - we did a lot in one day, Huashan west peak, east peak, different restaurants and terracotta. I would recommend Michael to all my friends.

One of the best food tours out there. Michael was informative, kind, and always helpful. His knowledge of the local cuisine was impressive, and he knew the best places to try each dish. He accommodated dietary restrictions and happily answered all my questions. Highly recommend this tour!

Michael emailed us a few days prior to the trip recommending we ask the hotel for a breakfast bag as we were leaving early (I highly recommend you choose the earliest time slot). He arrived at our hotel promptly and even brought some local steamed buns for us to try. His knowledge of both sites was incredible and he spoke brilliant English which made it even easier. Not only did we have a great time, we have also made a friend and will be staying in touch. If you are in Xi’an, this is a tour you HAVE to do!

No doubt, this is our best experience in Xian! All thanks to Michael. The museum was amazing, but to visit it with Michael truly elevate the whole experience. He is very friendly and knowledgeable, a true story teller. Without hesitation, I strongly recommend this visit with Michael, were you a history lover or not.

This was by far the best tour I experienced! Michael picked me up on time at my hotel and even delivered breakfast and snacks for the day. He is very friendly and we had a nice chat while driving to Mt. Huashan. At the mountain he organized the tickets and we went up - he told me a lot about the history of the mountain and showed me the best spots for pictures (he also takes pictures of you if you want to). After the mountain we went to the Terracotta Army museum. He knows a lot about their history and showed me very interesting details / pictures about them. Afterwards he drove me to the airport and on the way there he made a quick stop to show me some more attractions of the city. It was an amazing day! If you want to see the best of Xi’an with an amazing guide you definitely should book Michael’s tour!

Amazing experience…I am from the United States and traveling alone, so finding people n sites to trust is not easy……. However, I am very grateful that I found Michael Chang who was very kind, knowledgeable and had many stories to tell of each of our locations. The food he took me to try was delicious and he went even further and out of his way to take me to a few city hot spots. I absolutely recommend you ask for Michael!

Fantastic food tour in Xian! We went to 5 different restaurants in Yongxingfang and the Muslim Quarter and I cannot say which was the best! Travelling around by tuk tuk was very fun! Michael was excellent, explained everything in detail and I learned a lot. Great food, great evening. Highly recommended!

Great day - both Huashan Mt and Terra Cotta are worth the trip. Our guide Michael provided very interesting info and details in a perfect English, with focus on our points of interest (history + life in current China) It was like visiting beautiful scenery and museum with a long time friend!! We had the most amazing day with Addison as our guide visiting Xi’an’s Terracotta museum, having a unique 2000 year old traditional lunch, discovering the Old Wall, and exploring the Muslim Quarter and the Grand Mosque of Xi’an! Addison is so knowledgeable, kind, funny, experienced and professional during the whole tour. We recommend him to everyone because he is really excellent!
