          Amazing Beyond Belief!
Easily one of the most amazing sights I have ever seen in my life. Thousands of clay warriors, all of which have had to be rebuilt from shards, standing 4 abreast in many parallel trenches and extending way out into the distance, complete with their horses and carriages and weapons. There are three different excavated areas to view along with a museum. You will get to see actual reconstruction going on in real time. Best to get there early in the day to avoid the enormous crowds. There are a number of signs in Chinese and English providing some explanation but a guide really brings it to life. Awesome photo opportunities! Worth a side trip from Shanghai or Beijing even if only for a day.

          MUST SEE
We have all read about them but to see them in situ is just amazing. If this is on your bucket list then make it happen. If it is not, still make it happen. They are so much more awe inspiring in real life than any picture or video I have seen. On the day we were there the Chinese farmer who found them was there meeting and greeting visitors (and signing his book). I gather he is there most days. There is a great restaurant for a buffet lunch on site also. So much more than just the warriors in the ground to see.

          Xi’an Terracotta Warriors
We recently returned from China and saw the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an. An absolutely must do and another thing ticked off the bucket list. Discovered in 1974 and built 2200 years ago it is one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world. Expect big crowds, but you can still get to see them without too much effort. Pit 1 & 2 are huge so there is plenty of room to see them and take great photos. Pit 3 was very crowded. We were on a Wendy Wu tour and got to meet one of the farmers who discovered the warriors when digging for a well. He was 18 at the time. We had a photo taken with him. I definitely recommend seeing the Warriors.

1 day trip of terracotta warriors in Xi'an
We started off at 7.30am by taxi from Xi'an and reached the site around 8.30am. best time to reach as the place was relatively empty before the tour groups start. Purchasing the tickets was very easy. Security check is mandatory for everyone. After passing this there is a buggy ride for those with restricted mobility 5 yuan per head. A short walk later you enter the complex. Start by going to complex 1 best of the 3. Around 2000 warriors have been excavated. An English audio guide is available at entrance they charge 140yuan out of which 100 yuan is refundable at the end of tour. Huge done shaped structure with walkways on both sides with numbers which correspond to the audio guides. Then go to complex 2 lesser excavated but with smaller space, into complex 3 with 4 horses and 40 soldiers. Also some excavated soldiers and horses are housed in glass enclosures. All Chambers are cool and comfortable. Then there is a museum where you see some excavated artifacts and soldiers. On the way back you have to walk around 1-1.5kms with variety of shops offering souvenirs and variety of food with fruits. Wee then came back to Xi'an City rail station by bus which costed 10 yuan per head. Overall a fabulous trip which we throughly enjoyed.

          Really liked this place!!
This museum is awesome!! The amount of terracotta soldiers is incredible and they keep finding more. The museum shop is a little expensive but you can get replicas at the muslim market for a fraction plus all the local guys selling replicas outside the museum. Well woth the trip. Xian is a fun college city full of life as all college towns. Lots of cultural events. You can go on the main watch towers and bang the giant drums to allert for intruders. Had a great time here!! (Visit wa really in 2011 but wont allow ne to go that back)

          Mind blowing experience
Seeing the Terracotta Warriors is an incredible experience. There is a bit of walking so make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes and clothes. Layer just in case you get hot. Expect lots of people so try to get there as early as possible. Where were there as soon as it opened and it was still ridiculous. It was overwhelming at one point that we had to walk behind each other holding on to the belt of the one in front. Thank goodness we were not in a large group. It was just the 4 of us. We did however have a guide. It would be a nightmare without one. Be amazed but do your research.

          More than I expected
I thought I was coming to a small town in China. 10 million people what a surprise , does not matter how far west I travel the cities still surprise me. A little more English here. People are very nice. Going to a restaurant a little difficult as menu is in Chinese. Night markets with food vendors and entertainment just near the city wall was a lovely night strolling the streets . One hour drive to the worriers A huge sight that will amaze you for sure. Many people. It was raining and from first gate is a gentle 10 min stroll in . 3 amazing buildings of the worriers plus the museum. Upon leaving like most venues there is a myriad of souvenir shops on food vendors on the way out to catch a bargain. These shops I am told belong to the people of the town Reclaimed land that was taken for the sight. Do yourself s favour take a guide you learn so much more. We booked our half day the night before. Don’t miss this one. I loved it. I suggest at least two or three full days to see all the city sights. Walk the city wall.

          Astonishing!
The field with the terracotta soldiers is an astonishing experience. When you enter the site you see a wide panorama full of soldiers. It is amazing! The food in Xian is also very nice, specially the street food and all sort of cakes, buns and dumplings.
