This tour really left me speechless. My tour guide Sunday did the tour, also I was her only customer this day. So I had the chance to get to know a huge variety of local food and drinks. She will buy for you everything you want to try and takes a lot of time for questions and to enjoy the food. You will see places no tourist will ever go. The next day I was still full and didn‘t need any food 🤣 totally recommended tour, best I did by now!

Excellent opportunity to eat different foods that the locals eat, not only in the touristic areas of town. The host, Santa, was excellent with lots of local knowledge and historical perspective. The food stops on the tour were some of the best in town.
All food was very tasty, be careful to not eat too much in the beginning so you have capacity till the end :)

Our guide, Sunday, was there waiting for us at the Hilton and what a feast followed. We were taken to quite a few local eateries - some you would not have known were there. We had a dish on tiny chairs and table on the pavement with the locals. There was so much food we were bursting. And Sunday made the night. She's an absolute delight. Terrific English and just lovely to chat to throughout the night. Make sure you're hungry when you go!

Our guide, Sunday, was wonderful and seemed to know all the right places to hit. From the garlic eggplant and lamb skewers at the Chinese Muslim place to the open air stalls specializing in one item each, everything we tasted was amazing. When I thought we couldn't eat any more, she insisted that we have the local specialty, very long, flat noodles. Despite my calling out that I could only eat a couple bites, those noodles were gone in a flash. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi'an.

If you want to know the real Chinese culture then you must take this foodie (and beer!) tour when in Xi'an. Our tour guide, Cindy (or Sunday as others may call her) was an incredible host and guide who brought us to all the places we would never have found on our own. She ensured we understood the local dishes / food / snacks -- all of which was delicious! -- explaining the culture behind each.
Cindy took us on this tour in the evening when the city of Xi'an was beginning to come alive and we thoroughly enjoyed the bustling streets and going to lively and interesting restaurants and vendors. Each served us a delicious variety of meats and an equally interesting assortment of local vegetables so make sure you go into this tour hungry!
Our family felt like we were in an episode of the travel and food show "Parts Unknown" where it was a great mix of both local food and local culture. This was largely due to Cindy's dynamic personality, warm nature, and profound knowledge of provincial customs. Ask for her when you take this tour.

This is probably one of the best tours that you can go on as a traveler in Xi'an. Good food, good company, and a tour guide who is absolutely awesome! I have been to Xi'an twice with this company/guide and it has been wonderful both times! The spare-no-expense feeling without the heavy expense.
If you're into food this one is a perfect because Xi'an local food was some of the best I've had. If you're traveling in China, you cannot miss this opportunity!

Sunday took myself and my friend on the most amazing private tour. She was full of so much history and local knowledge it really made our trip so special. The tour itself was only meant to have a few dishes includes and we easily ate 12-15 different local flavors proving that our tour guide went over and above to make sure our trip was memorably. Sunday made us feel so welcome and you can tell he has so much pride and joy sharing her home town to tourists. Booking was easy, tour was better than described and was 100% value for money! 100% Would book with Catherine Lu Tours again in the future

We booked this tour wanting to try the many great foods available in Xi’an. What we received was an amazing evening that far exceeded our expectations.
Hosted by our food guide Sunday, she took us to many different local vendors where we were able to try as many foods as we desired. You can select from very adventurous to simple but great tasting food. Sunday is extremely knowledgeable about food, Xi’an, local culture and events.
You won’t find a better food tour in Xi’an. Come hungry as there are so many places to try, and Sunday will lead you to the best ones.

We had the most wonderful time exploring the authentic food scene in Xi’an with our wonderful guide, Sunday.
We must’ve tried over 15 different food and drinks, each one more delicious than the last!
Even better though was our amazing tour guide, Sunday. A true foodie, and a friendly, organized, kind hostess who had the upmost concern for our well being, as well as a deep knowledge for all things food in Xi’an.
Her services went beyond our tour, asking us if we needed any help in the city, taking photos and offering her recommendations for local activities, as well as travel and adventure stories of her own.
We loved becoming “food monsters” of Xi’an on this tour! It’s a MUST DO!! Come hungry, leave with a full belly and a full heart!
