          Customer Service
Just booked a trip to Japan next year and wanted to leave a review about Arti, who was very helpful and spent a lot of time getting the details just right. Excellent customer service. Have had 2 previous trips with WW and really looking forward to the one in 2025. This is how customer service should be. Thank you Arti.

A Great Way To See China's Important Sites.
If you want to see the main sights of China, this is the trip for you. It includes a 3 night cruise along the Yangtze fully inclusive of excursions, our ship was the Victoria Jenna (tip, 4th level is best for quietness in your cabin) . You will see on this tour the 3 Gorges, the Panda rehabilitation centre, the Great Wall, the Terracotta Army and much much more. You will experience the bullet train, the maglev train, the only one of its kind, incredible architecture in Shanghai and Beijing, trips to the theatre in the evening, all hosted by our fantastic guide Grace. You will visit the Yu Garden in Shanghai, all the main palaces including the Forbidden City in Beijing, Tiananmen Square etc. The hotels we stayed at were all really good, comfortable, well maintained, the locals were great and the food was excellent, I had certain catering needs and Wendy Wu and especially Grace made sure I was well looked after. Thumbs up to Wendy Wu for their organisation of the trip, I had no complaints whatsoever, in fact, I enjoyed China so much I will be booking another trip there next year to another part. This holiday is fairly full on, lots of early starts, a fair amount of walking, but it was more than worth it, this was my second trip with Wendy Wu and I highly recommend them.

          Amazing holiday with fantastic George
We can highly recommend this amazing action packed holiday. We saw so much, Beijing, Xi’an, pandas, Guilin, Yangtze cruise, Shanghai, the list was endless and so exciting. Hotels, food, organisation and everything about this adventure was really good but one of the best parts was our wonderful guide George. He treated us like family, passionately cared for the group and provided a highly Informative commentary on all we saw. Unfortunately I fell at the start of the trip and George was fantastic, he sensitively looked after me and made sure I was safe and stayed by my side throughout treatment. I was able to continue with the trip watched over by George. He really was like family and I cannot praise him enough, fantastic guide and wonderful person! The entire holiday proved to be so much better than expected, China is a fascinating country and we would love to do another Wendy Wu adventure - especially if George could be our tour guide again.

          Very Impressive Tour
We weren't really sure what to expect from this holiday, but it surpassed all possible expectations. The tour was very intensive, and we saw so much of the Chinese culture, learned a lot of the history, and gained an insight into the ways of life of those in the cities, and of those in the countryside. We covered an incredible distance, travelling by plane, bullet train, cruise ship and coach, but the organisation was impeccable and our national guide, Britany was absolutely amazing. She was a fountain of knowledge, had incredible organisational skills, was attentive to the needs of every group member, and her standard of English was excellent. She seemed to intuitively know how much knowledge to impart to the group at any one time, without overloading them, and she had an excellent sense of humour. She called us "Britany's Family", and by the end of the trip we actually felt like a family. We feel as if we saw all of the most important sights in the areas covered by our tour, but some of the days were very long. We were extremely lucky with the weather, and there were no days when it was too hot. Had it been so, the long, outdoor sightseeing days may have been uncomfortable. Many of the Chinese people use umbrellas as sunshades, and this may be worth bearing in mind if we return during the hotter months. We were very impressed with all of the meals which were included in our tour. The food was plentiful, varied, colourful, and of good quality. The hotels used were of excellent standard, and were very impressive. They were all situated in central locations which was very convenient. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Many thanks to Wendy Wu, and Britany.

Amazing tour of China with Betty's Family
This was an action packed trip that was nothing short of amazing! We managed to pack in all the highlights including Shanghai, the Yangtze River, the panda sanctuary, the terracotta warriors, the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City and so much more. Food was excellent as was the hotels. My friend and I would not have been able to navigate around all of these places without our fabulous tour guide Betty. From meeting us at the airport, Betty told us we were part of her family and she really treated us like that. We were extra lucky in that all the travel companions on this tour were super friendly. I wasn't expecting to meet so many people who be forever known as Betty's family. Can't rate this tour and Betty enough!

          Wonderful whirl of a tour
We had an all inclusive visit to the major tourist sites in China travelling from the UK with Wendy Wu. The Wonders of China tour certainly showed us that and so much more, led by brilliant national tour guide Zhang Ru known as Britney! We were looked after all the way, on and off coaches, bullet trains and internal flights, excellent hotels, meals in local restaurants, opportunities to see life in China and also time to ourselves. Superb organisation with so much packed in to the 16 days, memories made of a trip of a lifetime.

          Wonders of China Tour
Wonders of China Tour The 16 night tour of China was amazing. It exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Great accommodation, tours and the food was excellent. My wife if gluten intolerant and they accommodated her everyday that we were in China. Very well organised trips daily both inclusive and optional. Amazing photo opportunities during the tour. Our main tour guide Britney (Zhang Ru) was amazing, very well organised and knew when to attend the tours so that the waiting time was minimal, a major credit to Wendy Wu. All of our local guides were very knowledgeable of their cities and regions. I would highly recommend Wendy Wu Tours 100%. A very enjoyable experience was had by all in our group.

          Wonders of China tour
This was mine and my dads first trip to China and we were thoroughly surprised. This tour is an all inclusive tour which included our admission tickets, transport costs and all food. It covers all of the main tour sites as well such as the Great Wall of China, the forbidden city, temple of heaven, the Terracotta Army and pandas which lasted for 16 days. Our National guide and local guides were all exceptional. They were knowledgeable, passionate, funny and nothing was too much for them. To which our National guide Britney (Zhang Ru) and our Beijing local guide Alan (Jiao Yang) were fantastic. They really helped put us at ease and made the whole experience as amazing as it was. We felt welcomed right from the get go with both of them. I would recommend this company and this tour to anyone who wants to go to China or is thinking of visiting.

          Jewels of Japan
Visited wonderful places in Japan, most hotels were excellent . We enjoyed the company of fellow travellers and the coaches were comfortable albeit we did not spend that much time travelling by road as the long legs were by bullet train which was great. Cherry blossoms were beautiful. We enjoyed the variety of foods and restaurants were very good. However, we had two inexperienced guides each with different English language abilities. They were pleasant and tried their best but were quite hard to understand and made it difficult to ask questions. This led to lack of good information about places visited, points of interest along the way and interesting cultural info. Our headsets were useless, both because we couldn’t really hear/understand what was being said and they totally died after a few days. Replacements were not offered. We didn’t make it to intro dinner because of late arrival. Other late travellers were refunded for the dinner but we were told we had been “booked in”. We missed our Tokyo Bay cruise as the boat had mechanical issues. Had dinner aboard but it would have been good to have some flexibility to change nights. Organisation was disappointing. The second guide was not familiar with the restaurants/bus locations and we spent much time retracing steps. Waiting around for tickets was also frustrating as it did not seem to be organised properly prior to arriving. We were even asked to put our hands up if we were over 70 as tickets to the museum would be free. I found that very inappropriate and uncomfortable, as did most. Our guide rang our room (and all other travellers on tour) after 11pm on last night asking whether we returned our headsets. She was tracking down one headset which had gone missing. Information for transfer to airport for return journeys for everyone was dreadful. Such confusion. Overall we enjoyed Japan and the itinerary but at times the organisation was frustrating and not what we were expecting from a Wend Wu tour.

Glories of China ticked all the boxes
My partner Barbara and I recently returned from Wendy Wu’s “Glories of China” trip. We arrived at Shanghai, the starting point of this trip, from Hong Kong, where we had just completed a Wendy Wu 3-day extension to our China tour; I recommend this extension if you want to have some free time in which to do a bit of exploring on your own of a Chinese city with a Western feel. The Glories of China tour is great if you want to be sure of visiting the “must see” sites: Beijing with Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City; the Terracotta Warriors; The Great Wall; Shanghai. There are plenty of other interesting places on the tour, theatre and museum trips and visits to retail outfits that give talks on how they manufacture adornments like silk, jade items, etc. Lunch and dinner are unstinted and varied offerings of Chinese food; you will be expert with chopsticks by the end of the tour. Central to the success of the tour was Betty, the tour manager, who combined warmth, faultless organising skills, a detailed knowledge of the places we were visiting, and interesting insights on modern Chinese society. She was working every minute of the day and I often wondered how she found time to eat because she was always standing at our dining table explaining each new dish as it appeared. I was taken ill unexpectedly during the tour and was grateful for her understanding support, which included taking me to the local hospital.

Must do trip . Holiday of a lifetime
We had an excellent Wendy Wu trip to China called ‘The Glories Of China’ The tour advisor Betty and Oscar were excellent. They were very warm , helpful and knowledgeable The excursions very very carefully selected with enough time given for rest The food was surplus with a large selection. Some of the dishes were very tasty . We had dumpling dinner and also Pekjng duck which most people enjoy We saw a historical musical which was very enjoyable. There was also a show on the yangshoo river which was unforgettable. The acrobats were out of this world The West Street in Xian was a highlight when the Chinese folk and the visitors wore traditional costumes I would highly recommend the trip to China The people are very hospitable and helpful . They are extremely kind to the elderly . I give it a 5/5

We have just arrived back in Australia after our 'China and Tibet Discovery Tour's with Wendy Wu. We weren't quite sure about what to expect with our trip to China but WOW! If it's not on your list or you're umming about going... Our advise... DO IT!

We travelled via plane, coach, bullet train and explored not nearly enough of this amazing country. We saw all the attractions you think of when you think of China .. the wall, the Terracotta warriors, forbidden City, temples, Pandas, Monks etc... but we were not prepared for how much more there is to see and do. We are already planning our next trip via the Silk Road.

Our National Escort, Louis, was truly amazing! He is an asset to himself and Wendy Wu. He made us feel at ease , which considering we didn't speak the language or have any idea of how to get to places was a huge deal. We felt confident , secure and safe with him leading the group. He approached everything with a relaxed persona and a smile on his face. No ask was too big. We had a full group of 28 and everyone felt personally attended to. We ranged in age from 24 to 75 and he managed not to lose any of us lol. Having Louis as a guide made moving through China a breeze. He had excellent English skills and a great sense of humour. I think we even left him with some Aussie phrases lol.

Louis made our trip feel very individual by changing things up when we asked. For example, adding extra shows we'd be interested in and even took us to a street party!

Our local guides were awesome as well. David and Grace definitely knew their stuff and were relaxed in their approach to the group. We were taught phrases that we put to excellent use!

The food was bright , colourful and plentiful. We were complaining of eating too much lol. The hotels were comfortable , clean and luxurious and convenient to all the stops we made.

The people were so welcoming. They were interested in us as much as we were them. I have definitely come home with a different opinion of China and all it has.

Thank you for such an amazing and memorable experience Louis and Wendy Wu. This trip will stay with us forever.

We went on the Wendy Wu ‘China and Tibet Discovery ‘ tour. Saw all the highlights eg Great Wall, Forbidden City etc and so so much more.

A lot was packed into our fortnight so the three night cruise on the Yangtze River was a welcome break. Very relaxing sitting on the balcony of our cabin on the ship watching the river go by.

Really wonderful National Guide Louis who guided our large group through this fascinating country and steered us onto planes, trains, buses and ships. Not an easy job but done with quiet efficiency and a smile.

Local guides good too especially YanKe in Lhasa.

A great introduction to this rapidly changing country. Local people were delightful and were as interested in us as we were in them. Our guides taught us a few phrases in Mandarin and Tibetan that we put to good use.

A great way to see this huge country and compare the old China and the new. Highly recommended.

What an amazing time we had in China! Our wonderful guide Sophie Jin helped make our tour one of the most memorable tours we have ever been on! From our greeting at the airport on Day 1 to seeing us safely checked in for our departure, Sophie was absolutely amazing! We travelled as a group of 19 "Sophie's Family" for 21 days starting in Biejing visiting Tiananmen Square & The Forbidden City & climbing the Great Wall - wow what an experience! Sophie a National Tour Guide accompanied us on the entire tour. We spent four nights cruisisng the Yangtze River and experiencing the absolute wonder of the Three Gorges Dam. Then onto Chengdu where we were memorised by the Giant Panada's. From cruising the Li River to discovering Guilin to Suzhou to the night cruise & lights of Shanghi the whole experience of China certainly was Magnificent! Sophie our exceptional guide contributed to making our tour magnificient! Sophie is not only a wonderful ambassador for Wendy Wu Tours but also for her country China! Sophie's passion for China is evident, she explained in detail each destination on the coach each day before reaching our locations. Sophie's knowledge of all the destinations in our itinery was remarkable and her English was very fluent. Our flight from Xian to Wuhan was cancelled due to weather. To her credit Sophie was immediatley on the phone to Wendy Wu Tours and within no time arrangements were made for us to travel via Bullet Train and then bus to transfer to Yichang to ensure we boarded our Yangtze River Cruise on time! Sophie went above and beyond the call of duty to transfer our entire group to the metro station and manage to secure 20 tickets on board the train all within a very short time frame! Sophie Jin you were amazing!!! I would fully recommend the 21 day Magnificent China Tour to any tourist thinking of embarking on a trip to China. Hopefully you will be as lucky as we were and if possible make a request to have Sophie as your amazing guide - you won't be disappointed!

Sophie the best guide ever took us around explaining everything about Xiàn, the terra-cotta soldiers, archeology of the zone and Qin dinasty. We also had fun making our own terra-cotta little soldier with clay in the government firm. Great tour, full of knowledge and kindness: we ate at a Qin dinasty traditional restaurant where at the very end they dressed us up as real traditional Chinese couple. We had fun!
In the afternoon after lunch we went for a bike ride on the town walls from the best entrance for pics and see sight. We are thankful to Sophie for this unforgettable day in Xiàn!

We had a fantastic tour guide Lisa our little mumma, highly recommend her. Lisa was thorough with explaining each days activities, weather and clothes and walking shoes etc. Lisa educated us on Chinas history, culture and people. All our tour guides were lovely and all had great sense of humours. Lisa truly made us all feel like family not just another tour group and was there around the clock for any of us. We enjoyed this excursion as part of our Magnificent China tour. Our guide was Sophie and if you ever embark on a tour with Sophie your Wendy Wu tour experience will be enhanced by the service provided by an exceptional guide. Sophie is brilliant and a real credit to Wendy Wu. Her knowledge of the subject matter on this excursion was encyclopedic and her command of the English language was such that she was able to impart that information in a manner which was understood by all. Prior to reaching each of the venues on the excursion Sophie would provide detailed information by way of commentary on the coach. She was prepared to answer individual questions from any member of the party and took time to ensure her answers were understood by the questioner. At each venue Sophie spoke to each of our party at some point to make sure each was enjoying the experience and was having no difficulties. If difficulties were encountered Sophie endeavoured to resolve them to the satisfaction of each. Of the excursion itself it is likely that most visitors were aware of the Terracotta Warriors site however the addition of the Terracotta Warrior Making factory was a pleasant surprise. Another pleasant surprise was that we met the farmer who originally discovered the Warriors. The topic of the Ancient Walls maybe sounds a wee bit banal but Sophie's input on the history behind the attraction brought a wee bit more life into the subject. The cuisine was excellent and Sophie stood by to identify to our group the contents of each dish before she sat down to her own meal. The local beer wasn't too bad either ! We would certainly recommend this excursion to any visitor and if you are lucky enough to have Sophie as your guide you will have a fun time. One other plug for Sophie and Wendy Wu concerns our departure from Xian. Our flight from Xian to Yichang was cancelled because of thunderstorms at Yichang. Yichang was where we were due to transfer to Maoping docks to embark on our Yangtze river cruise. Between Sophie and the Wendy Wu office staff alternative travel arrangements were made for us at extremely short notice and this is to the credit of Sophie who worked like a Trojan to get us to Maoping. If this review reads like a letter from the Sophie Jin fan club then we are not ashamed to admit that we would be members. Sophie Jin No.1

George was our tour guided for our amazing 25 day Grand Tour of China stattin on 18 October 2019.
He was exceptionally well organised and the whole trip ran very smoothly. His knowledge of China is excellentt and the local guides he engaged for our tour were excellent. George acted very quickly when one of our group became ill and arranged for transfer and admission to hispital. George went abova and betond what we expeced of a tour guide, and stayed with our tour member and ensured he received expert medical attention. George also ensured that our great local guide in Shanghai stayed with the group and she went above and beyond what we expected of a local guide.

The whole tour was amazing, we were very lucky to have had such a friendly group on our tour.

We thoroughly recommend Wendy Wu Tours and believe we have made a lifelong friend of George. Thanks Mate

What can I say... best tour ever. Issac was very knowledgeable and answered every question about the area and its history. Issac spoke English perfectly and it was so easy to communicate. The driver was very safe and was always close by to pick us up. The warriors factory first was perfect because you could understand the complexity in making the incredible statues. The shopping there was fun and informative the factory let you look around and were not too pushy.

The warriors pit was so impressive. Issac took us the the best places to get a photo. Issac knew the short cuts and how to see the best items. Everything was well explained It was well worth coming to Xi’an to see the site.

Lunch was beyond expectations. The experience with the greeting and pretending to be the Emperor was fun. But the food was excellent. The traditional meal was local and was filling.

The art museum was interesting. The layout and guide explains the history and progression of Chinese art over the different dynasties.

The Xi’an city wall tour was amazing. The history was well explained by Issac once again. The view from the wall was cool.

Overall this tour was the beat ever. Highly recommend and make sure you ask for Issac.
