Authentic Personalised China and Inner Mongolia Tour
We thoroughly loved our 10 days in China and Inner Mongolia! Despite moving about every single day, we got to see everything we wanted to. Linda Wu arranged and helped greatly with our schedule, accommodating to our wants and needs. She always checks up with us to ensure everything goes well and we have what we need. Whenever problem arises, she’s quick to solve to make sure everything goes smoothly. Oskar was also so helpful bringing us around, whenever we had questions, he answers straight away like Google, he’s very knowledgeable! Definitely would recommended them, they’re kind, quick and attentive! Let them know what you would love to see or your interests and they would personalise a tour to the T for you!

Inner Mongolia: beautiful experience with Oscar and China Culture Tour
We booked a 3-day tour of Inner Mongolia in August 2024. We really enjoyed it! Everything was perfectly arranged by Grace, who offered us several options according to our travel schedule and budget. Our guide Oscar gave us a deep insight into Mongolian culture and made the long car journey more fun. We highly recommend!!!

      Introduction to China
Our trip to China, with China Culture Tours was more than we ever expected. Grace Wang arranged a tour around the two weeks we were going to be in China, which included Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Guilin, and ended in Shanghai. Once we landed in Beijing, all the details were arranged by CCT- all transfers, tours, personal guides and drivers. In every city we were treated to 5 * accomodations that all exceeded the Wow factor. Our guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Proud of their Chinese heritage, they shared their knowledge in an easy, not text-like way. They helped arrange evening shows for us to see- from colorful traditional shows to acrobatics. Stand out guides were Lily in Beijing, Kris in Shanghai and far and above any guide I’ve ever met is Linda in Guilin, whose enthusiasm and attention made us all anxious to get to know this beautiful city. From Guilin, we visited the Rice terraces and took a 4 hour tour on the Li River- spectacular!!! Don’t miss this city. We took the 4 day, 3 night Yangtze River Cruise with Victoria Sabrina at my insistance (it was a bucket list trip), and even though it was a relaxing scenic trip, after the Li River cruise, nothing could compare. Plus we missed the TLC of CCT. The “don’t miss” is the Li River, not the Yangtze river cruise, in my opinion. If you’re planning a trip to China, you can’t go wrong with CCT. They are honest, trustworthy, straightforward and flexible. Any hiccups along the way were quickly resolved. (Like a canceled flight) and we didn’t have to think about it. With CCT, your only responsability is to relax and enjoy your vacation.

      Best tour ever!
I have done many trips but this was absolutely the best in terms of the organization of the landscapes and the professionalism and preparation of the guides and drivers I visited Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Guilin, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai. Everything was perfectly organized by Nora who was always present A special thanks to Lucia (Xi'an guide) truly professional and very knowledgeable about the history, Mike (Guilin guide) who followed us from the first minute recommending places to eat and satisfying our requests and Anna (Zhangjiajie guide) who took us among the wonders of the place with great enthusiasm for her city. China is truly a wonderful country absolutely to visit and experience in person. Thanks to China Culture Tour for making this experience unforgettable

      Beijing city tour
It was a very nice trip of Beijing city. We visited Great Wall Juyongguan section which good for eldery that just want to experience standing on Great Wall without walking far. We also visited Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City, Beihai park, Summer palace and Panjiayuan market. Too bad we missed Tiananmen Square as it was closed during our visit. The food also nice. Our tour guide Annie is very patient and nice and the driver also very helpful. Thank you both. I also want thanks Nora for helping me arranged this tour and always checked on us if we need something. Overall very good tour experience.

      The Perfect Trip to China
Our visit to China, organized by Grace Wang of China Culture Tours, was a once -in-a-lifetime experience. Because of the distances involved, we wanted to pack in as much as possible, recognizing that it is not easy to return to China for follow-up businesses. Grace was amazing in helping put this itinerary together. We exchanged ideas on a constant basis and she provided valuable feedback as to whether a particular destination was worthwhile or redundant with other stops. She identified specific activities that made each stop both unique and valuable. Grace was also extremely responsive to any questions or concerns we had, including helping us navigate the China visa process. By the time we finished the planning, the trip's duration had grown to 41 days. Despite the length of the trip, we were never bored. She built in rest stops, the hotels she chose were first rate and the guides excellent. The meals included in the trip were also excellent. We encountered zero logistical difficulties, as we were met at every stop by Grace's staff. If a problem with bookings arose, she immediately got on the phone and solved the problem. China Culture Tour was also extremely flexible. If something came up that we wanted to do but was not on the original itinerary, Grace made it happen. We had a variety of experiences on the trip. We witnesses cultural activities, experienced urban life and visited amazing natural sites ranging from mountains to rivers to lakes. The considerable distance involved between various stops could have been a problem, but thanks to Grace's planning, the travel was both painless and pleasant. If you want to get a real taste of China, China Culture Tours can provide it. I have traveled all over the world so I am a very experienced traveler. You cannot possibly find a better organization and better people to work with than Grace and China Culture Tours. If you are considering a visit to China, this is the place to go.

      Unforgettable and Enriching Experience
I had an amazing experience on my first trip to Taiwan, thanks to Grace (our tour agent) and Stanley (our tour guide). Even though this tour company specialises in China tours, they were open to organising Asia tours, such as our trip to Taiwan. Grace was incredibly helpful in planning a custom itinerary that aligned with my family's interests, ensuring we explored scenic and historical sites. She was responsive to all my questions and ensured a smooth, stress-free trip. Stanley, our guide, was punctual, and knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. He shared insightful stories about Taiwan's history, took us to hidden gems that weren’t on our itinerary, and ensured we captured beautiful memories. His hospitality and energy made the trip unforgettable. Detailed Review: I recently completed my first trip to Taiwan, and it was truly a wonderful and enlightening experience. Grace, our tour agent, was incredibly patient and helpful in crafting a private itinerary that perfectly suited our family’s preferences. She recommended fun activities and scenic spots, while also including sites rich in history, which gave us a deeper understanding of Taiwan. Grace was very responsive, and always available to answer my questions and make sure our trip went smoothly. We had no issues with payments, and everything went as planned. Our tour guide, Stanley, was outstanding. He was always on time and exceptionally friendly. Even though we mainly spoke Chinese, he made the effort to incorporate English for one of my family members who was more comfortable in English. Stanley explained the rich history of every place we visited, such as the Bitou Cape Trail, Golden Waterfall, Jiufen, Shifen, and Taipei 101. He shared fascinating stories about how Shifen used to be a coal mining town and Jiufen a gold mining area, giving us a vivid picture of Taiwan’s past. Stanley also went beyond our expectations by taking us to spots not on our itinerary, like the Nanya Rock area, which provided additional scenic views and insights into Taiwan’s geology. Throughout the trip, he was always ready to take photos for us—even in the rain. At Shifen Waterfall, he put down his umbrella to capture a perfect moment, and he timed photos perfectly when a train passed by. His dedication meant we returned home with over 1,000 pictures! Stanley treated us like friends, engaging us in conversations about our country (Singapore), our professions, and our lives. He even shared his knowledge of local, hidden food gems that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. We tried delicious seafood and hearty noodles at a small stall near a fish farm after our hike, a peaceful spot that gave us an authentic taste of Taiwan. One thing I particularly appreciated was Stanley’s energy and enthusiasm. Despite working long days—often beyond his typical hours due to traffic—he remained energetic and positive. Even during physically demanding days like hiking and cycling, he kept up with us effortlessly. His passion for his job and his friendly attitude made our entire trip so enjoyable. Overall, this trip was a memorable experience, and I’m grateful for both Grace and Stanley’s exceptional service. I would highly recommend this tour company, and if I ever return to Taiwan, I’d love to have Stanley as my guide again.

      2 days in Beijing
We booked a 2-day Beijing tour with Grace who had been very helpful and patient. She explained and modified the itinerary multiple times to ensure that we managed to see all the places we wanted to go to. Linda was our guide in Beijing. She picked us up promptly at our hotel and also modified our itinerary along the way so that we could have more time at the attractions we were more keen on, and also notified us in advance if the attractions were closed. She was also extremely helpful and helped us book some of our bus tickets and show tickets. Will book with CCT again if I manage to come to China again.

      Great Family China Tour
We wanted to thank Grace at China Culture tour for organizing a great tour of China . We enjoyed our Beijing - Xian-Chengdu -Guilin -Yangshuo - Shanghai trip . Our local guides Bruce in Beijing , Susan in Xian, Jane in Chengdu , Mike in Guilin and Mary in Shanghai took care of us and gave us great recommendations as we customized our trip while we visited the cities . We added shows in Xian and Yangshuo when we had the energy and at times removed dinners when we were tired . That flexibility was important to our family group of 8. We really enjoyed our trip , had some great experiences and learned a lot .

When my wife and I decided to visit China we wanted to go on a private tour.
We contacted a number of tour companies in China and chose "China Culture Tours" over the others because our tour organiser, Grace Wang, was friendly, fluent in English, had an excellent knowledge of all the sites we wanted to visit and responded quickly to all the questions we had.
Grace put together a great trip incorporating our ideas and hers. She gave us the best possible route and transport options and chose hotels highly recommended and always right in the middle of the old towns or in walking distance of all the attractions.Breakfast was included with all the hotels and lunches and dinners we organised ourselves which we found easier and cheaper.
Once we agreed on the itinerary and cost, she arranged the domestic flights, hotels and land tour. All we did was arrange our visa and flights in and out of the country.
The tour went very smoothly. We had a new guide and driver in each city we visited.
The guides were professional, friendly, helpful, spoke good English and had an amazing knowledge about their area and China's history.
If we were not happy about anything on the tour, Grace was easy to contact either via email or via the guide. We have nothing but praise about the tour company and do not hesitate to recommend them. They did everything to make our trip a memorable one.
Our highlights were : the Great Wall of China( Mutianyu part of the wall) and when you are there don't miss the China dream stone city which is included with the ticket. The Terracotta warriors in Xian. Jiuzhaigou national park was like fairyland with its waterfalls and lakes. The Li river from Guilin , floating down on a bamboo raft viewing the mountain Karsts. Jade dragon snow mountain near Lijiang. Went by cable car to the Yak meadow up to 3800m. Yangtze River cruise - a relaxing time while viewing the 3 gorges and passing through an amazing lock.

My first visit to China was in 1984, not too many years after China opened up to Western tourists. At the time, there weren‘t too many modern hotels, we flew on old Soviet TU 154s which resembled bombers more than commercial airliners, and modern trains did not exist. But I remember how friendly and curious the Chinese people were and so I wanted to show the country to my wife and experience the modern China.
We retraced my original itinerary of five cities (Beijing, Xi‘an, Guilin, Shanghai, Guangzhou and HongKong, but added several other cities for a 24 day tour. We ran across CCT while perusing the internet and contacted Grace Wang. We were a little apprehensive dealing with an agency which did not have an office stateside. The almost uniformly excellent review by previous travelers reassured us a great deal. To say we were not disappontment is an understatement. Grace was professional, helpful at all times, honest, trustworthy and a delight to work with. The trip came off as planned, with zero problems and it exceeded our expectations.
We decided to do the trip ouir way. We are retired and wanted an upscale experience. We chose Business (VIP, as it is stated in China) for domestic air travel (highly recommended; the extra cost is reasonable), on trains, and cruises (Li River cruise which was a highlight) and a three day Yangtze cruise which was fascinating).
We chose five star hotels and were not disappointed but would choose a different
hotel than the Ritz Carlton in Chengdu, mainly because of the location. These arrrangements are perfect for older people like we are as fhey minimized having to deal with bureaucracy, check-ins at airports and train stations, etc.
Grave gave us excellent advice and guided us through the whole process of planning our trip.she answered every inquiry ( there were many) promptly and in detail. She proved flexible, patient and reliable at all times. The guides she assigned to us, especially Helen in Beijing, Linda in Guilin, Amy in Xi’an, Candy in Shanghai and Cecilia in Hingkong were absolutely delightful and they allowed us to get to know them on a more personal level. Having a priviate car with driver and guide made everything a piece of cake (no small matter given the chaotic traffic in China’s big cities.
We loved the little touches Grace had arranged, from dumpling making in a private residence to a wonderful meal at the Da Dong restaurant in Beijing (duck!) and much more.
We would love to return to China and when we do, we will come back to Grace and CCT. The value for the money was excellent. Our local travel agent told us she could not compete.
We had a wonderful time and would recommend CCT wholeheartedly. Even if you cannot swing an upscale trip, Grace will accommodate you and make your trip memorable. Go for it!

China Culture Tours arranged our trip to China in September 2013.

We were looking for a company that would give us a private custom tour. I had previously done quite a bit of research on China and its attractions. So when I contacted Grace at China Culture Tours, I already had an idea of what I wanted to do. Grace was fantastic in helping me put together the perfect trip. Grace was very helpful and quick to reply to all my emails. I could not have asked for a better advisor. She recommended different options, did all the booking of flights and hotels and planned daily excursions. The trip was worrie-free for us.

We were very impressed with the level of service we received from all the tour guides and drivers. Each day we received 2 bottles of water from the driver. This was just a small thing, but it really made a difference to us, and it shows such a high level of caring and service. Something you don't often get from other tour companies.

Every aspect of our trip was planned and executed perfectly.

We even had the chance to meet Grace in Guilin. It was such a pleasure to put a face to the name.

If you are considering a trip to China, I would HIGHLY recommend that you contact Grace at China Culture tours.

Everything ran like clockwork on our 30 day tour of China thanks to Lydia’s organisation and our wonderful tour guides and drivers. Even before we arrived we found Lydia to be thorough and flexible providing an inexhaustible stream of information and suggestions over the several months we were planning the trip. She also kept in contact all through our visit to make sure things were running smoothly.
We started with a fabulous 6 days in Beijing. Our guide, Tom, provided fantastic service all through our stay up to and including settling us into our seats on the train to Xi’an. His knowledge of Beijing, Chinese history, culture and food was impressive as was his ability to answer all our many and varied questions. As well as efficiently shepherding us through our itinerary (including a hike on the Great Wall) he also took time and effort to organise extra activities for evening events and helped us plan our free days - making suggestions, providing background, and explaining transport options. It was an absolute pleasure to spend 6 days with Tom and he made our visit to Beijing a great success.
Tom was followed by the wonderful Christina in Xi’an, Kevin in Chengdu, Brandon in Lijiang, Cory in Guilin/Yangshuo, Martina in Shanghai and David in Huangshan. All had first class English. Their knowledge of their cities and China was extensive and they could answer all the questions we threw at them no matter on what topic. They were always early and could cope with any unexpected turn of events as well as making great suggestions for our free time and making sure we could cope with public transport etc. Christina helped us squeeze in a visit to the tomb of Jingdi even though it wasn’t on our formal itinerary. We were very grateful not to have missed this wonderful site. Kevin gave us an interesting view of Chengdu that went beyond pandas and we had a great day going to Leshan to see the Giant Buddha. Brandon, in Lijiang, coped seamlessly with the fact that 2 of our itinerary choices were unexpectedly closed. We were very disappointed that Tiger Leaping Gorge was closed but Brandon’s alternative itinerary was great and we enjoyed learning about Naxi culture from him and enjoyed his immense knowledge and sense of humour. At Guilin Cory introduced us to a lovely old gentleman in Daxu who showed us his collection of old implements – it was fascinating and not to be missed. He also led us on a great hike through the rice terraces and villages in Longsheng county, even avoiding the crowds of tourists, and also on a lovely biking trip in the countryside around Yangshuo.
The final leg of our tour took us from Yangshuo to Chongqing for a Yangtze cruise which was fascinating. Apart from the amazing scenery a highlight was a ‘ride’ in the ship lift at the dam. From Yichang, Helen ushered us from the cruise to a lovely lunch to the train to Shanghai. We were met in Shanghai by the delightful Martina who as well as being a lovely guide was passionate about Shanghai. As well as guiding, she shepherded us in and out of Shanghai through 2 stations and the airport on several occasions as we went to Huangshan for 3 days and returned. David provided expert guidance at Huangshan allowing us to maximise our time on the mountain. When we were due to leave Shanghai our flight was cancelled due to a typhoon and we had to stay an extra day which entailed an extra night at our hotel and changed travel to the airport all of which happened over the National Day holiday. Martina and the car company handled all of this without any bother.
We found traffic in China quiet daunting, but all our drivers did a great job – they were always on time or early, friendly and safe and patient drivers. We wholeheartedly recommend Lydia at China Culture Tours as an organiser and Tom, Christina, Kevin, Brandon, Cory, David & Martina for their willingness and ability to share their knowledge, enthusiasm, efficiency and friendliness. Our enjoyment and understanding of China would not have been the same without them.

In September 2016, my wife and I along with another couple went to China and used Chinaculturetour.com with Grace for our visit. I had found her agency on line and after multiple emails and phone calls with great planning, we were finally ready to go to China. I honestly did not know what to expect. I spoke very little Chinese, only a couple of hundred words I learned on the Internet and I was a little apprehensive but excited to go.
Every single detail was planned with Grace in advance, and boy did she deliver.
Everything promised was delivered. We started out in Beijing, met by our guide at the airport. We were taken to a wonderful hotel, the Red Wall Garden hotel ( a boutique hotel with phenomenal service) and only then did the guide- Andy leave and promised to return the next day. Right on schedule Andy and the driver picked us up and we went to the Great Wall. Andy climbed up with us , rather than taking the cable car, and we had a magnificent time. We had multiple other visits in Beijing including the Forbidden City, Tiannaman Square, the Olympic site, a Peking Duck restaurant and the Summer Palace which was beautiful.
We then went to the airport to fly to Xian- Unfortunately the car broke down on the way, and unbelievably our driver was able to get it restarted, and we made it to the airport on time. Andy checked us in for our flight so no problem there. On our way to Xian, again picked up by our guide, Robbie. Robbie was very personable and went out of his way to do everything he could. We did not care for the hotel service, or the smoking in the rooms, or the attitude of the front desk. We called Grace, and she came to the rescue. We were upgraded to a better room. still not our favorite hotel the Tang Dynasty Hotel is better avoided for better hotels in Xian. We had bicycle riding on the wall , we had the famous Terracotta Soldiers to see , a pottery factory, a Buddhist temple etc. Robbie was exceptional. At one point, at my request, he took me to a high end department store where the tailor measured me for a suit. They did not take American credit cards, and Robbie offered to pay with his and I would pay him back when I got home. What service!! Way beyond the call of duty. On to Guilin, where we had another very good guide. We had a 10 mile bicycle trip, saw water buffalo, brides taking photos, and rice patty workers tilling the field. We actually met Grace at night for dinner who was kind enough to pay for us as again no American credit cards were taken. We detailed Grace about everything. We went on to the Yangtze River cruise- the Victoria Line- the Jenna. beautiful views and we upgraded our stateroom. The basic room was not adequate but it was only 200$usd to upgrade on board- much much more if done ahead of time- we had been told by Grace
The cruise was good, but not great, the food was fair at best. The views and the trip to Goddess Stream were magnificent. I would opt for a higher grade cruise the next time. Met at the dock, another guide and driver drove us to the airport and then on to Shanghai. Jack was our guide and also extremely good . He took us everywhere, suggested the acrobatic show which was an extreme highlight. The driver even waited for us till 9pm so we would not need a taxi. We saw the Jewish ghetto,
and the last day were supposed to have a half day tour, but incredibly Jack and the driver toured with us all day long!! Sadly, we left for the US. The Fairmont Hotel in Shanghai was one of the most wonderful experiences in a hotel I have ever experienced.
I cannot say enough about how seamless this trip was, and I do believe that there is nothing anyone could have done better than Grace in organizing it. It was truly custom made for the two couples, guides were superb everywhere, and I have listed only a few of the highlights. They ordered lunch for us, even a few dinners!!!
I will go back to China, and I will definitely be going with Grace and China Culture tour,
I was truly as comfortable as I would have been in the US

My husband and I travelled to China last October, from the 4th through to November 6th. We really didn’t want to do one of those large organized group tours where you’re stuck following the Tour’s itinerary. I had a pretty good idea of where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see so that style of travel just wasn’t going to cut it for us. However, seeing as it was our first trip to China and there would be the inevitable language barrier, I thought it would be wise to get some help with bookings and finding private guides. After contacting three such travel agencies based in China who say they specialize in private tours, I was most impressed with how flexible Grace from China Culture Tours was. She was able to help me create an itinerary that fit our needs. I’d already booked our plane tickets to arrive October 4 thinking the October 1 national holiday festivities would be all done by then. Little did I know they lasted 8 days! Grace assured me that it would all be fine, and it was. It wasn’t a crushing experience as many online would lead you to believe. Don’t get me wrong, there are huge crowds, but everything flowed extremely well and we never felt as though we were missing out on anything because of the crowd. Our guide in Beijing, Jin, was terrific. We had 7 days in Beijing, but could have used at least another 2 days. We loved Beijing. From there we took the train to Pingyao. I’d read much about it online and really wanted to go. I’m glad Grace convinced me that 2 days was plenty. And it was. It’s a lovely little town, but it’s now set up as a tourist attraction where most shops are selling souvenir type goods. ( I do regret not buying some of the malt rice vinegar that’s made there though. A must for dipping dumplings.) We stayed at the Jing’s Residence in the ancient town. The accommodations were lovely, the food was terrific and the staff were delightful. I am glad we saw it, but in hindsight we could have taken a pass on Pingyao. We then took the train to X’ian to see the jaw dropping Terracotta Warriors. We were warmly greeted at the train station by our terrific guide, Summer. Her English was impeccable and her knowledge of X’ian is amazing. She is a great ambassador for her city. I wished we’d had more time in X’ian. It’s well worth 4 days if you can swing it. From there we went to Luoyang where we were greeted by Lisa, another terrific guide. Her English as well was terrific. The walled part of the city is well worth exploring. But the pièce de résistance is the Longmen Grottos. A must see. We left Luoyang wishing we had more time. Always a good sign. Then off to Shanghai for 6 days. We probably could have done it in 3 days. From there to the surprisingly beautiful Qingdao. There’s more than just the beer factory/museum to enjoy there. We flew to Nanjing from Qingdao, then down to Guilin where we were greeted by our outstanding guide Linda. Guilin, Yangshuo and surrounding areas of minority villages and Rice Terrasses were the highlight of our time in China. I’d go back there in a heartbeat. Spectacular! And the food was great. Wishing we could bring Linda with us for the remainder of our trip we sadly had to say goodby to her and her fabulous part of the country, to fly to HongKong for a few days before heading home to Canada on Nov.6. The trip was all we expected and much, much more, thanks to Grace from China Culture Tours, and our amazing guides Summer(X’ian), Lisa(Luoyang) and Linda(Guilin-Yangshuo-Longsheng,etc,..)
China is a very safe country. We never once felt unsafe. It’s also a spectacularly beautiful country. If you’re planning to visit China you can’t go wrong enlisting Grace from China Culture Tours’ help.

We were looking for a trip to China as a way to celebrate our 50th anniversaryand browsed TripAdvisor for ideas. China Culture Tour (CCT) seemed to fit our needs along with a couple of other companies. After contacting CCT by e-mail, it quickly became likely that Grace and her company would be a good bet. We exchanged many e-mails in order to put together an itinerary and finalized it in a phone call. The bet we made turned into a 23 day private tour that started in Beijing and ended in Shanghai. In between we enjoyed train and boat travel, the many highlights of Chinese tourism as well as some interesting person to person learning opportunities including visits to apartments as well as a rice farmers home for lunches, a visit to a Shanghai neighborhood to find out how folks live which included a fabulous home cooked meal and a wonderful visit to a continuing care facility. CCT hired local guides in each city to make arrival, departure and everything in between work seamlessly. We had a worry free trip of a lifetime. Among the guides we enjoyed, there were three exceptional guides who deserve a shout out. Linda in Guilin & Yangshuo, Kevin in Chengdu and Rainbow in Hangzou went above and beyond to make our trip a wonderful experience. Grace is to be commended for her dedication and expertise as well as the superior organizational skills and follow up that she brings to her profession. We cannot thank her enough for a perfect trip to China. We did have an opportunity to meet Grace in Guilin and spend some time with her and she is just as gracious and welcoming in person as she was when we were putting the trip together with her.

China Culture Tours Performed Exceptionally Well

We recently returned from a 29-day private custom tour of China which China Culture Tours (CCT) assisted us in planning, organizing and realizing. CCT, spearheaded by Lydia Huang, did a wonderful job. We visited Beijing, 7 nights; Shanghai, 5 nights; Yangtze River Cruise, 4 nights; Chongqing, 1 night; Guilin, 3 nights; Yangshuo 2 nights, Shenzhen, 2 nights; Hong Kong, 5 nights. We are 68 -70 years old and my wife has limited mobility so we brought a wheelchair with us which we ended up using it more than we anticipated. Other than Hong Kong, China is not yet particularly wheelchair friendly. Hong Kong, however, may be the most wheelchair friendly city in the world, certainly more so than San Francisco where we're from.

We knew which cities we wanted to visit. CCT helped us with planning how long we should spend in each city, where we should stay, exactly what we should do each day, and intercity transport. CCT organized tour guides, cars, drivers and wheelchair “pushers,” intercity flights, train and auto journeys, the Yangtze River cruise ship including the specific cabin on the ship. Given my wife's disability, we stayed at disabled/wheelchair friendly hotels with accessible rooms. CCT helped us identify such hotels but we found it more economical to book the hotels we wanted ourselves as we were able to get better rates than CCT through sites like Agoda, Ctrip, Booking.com, etc. Trip Advisor is a great place to start to find best hotel rates! CCT has long-term relationships with many hotels and can probably get better rates on those hotels.

Lydia was exceptional and extremely patient—she worked with us for nine months to plan and organize the trip—we first contacted CCT on 1/20/17 and departed for Beijing on Oct 6. She was always pleasant and easy to work with. Initially, we communicated via email, and then in August, we began talking using Skype. Lydia's is fully fluent in English—both verbal and writing. Her follow-up and responsiveness were excellent, her recommendations/suggestions valuable, and attention to detail outstanding. One of the treats of our tour was meeting Lydia for dinner in Guilin after having worked with her long distance for months. Throughout the tour, we could always reach Lydia very quickly if we had questions or wanted to make a change, usually via WeChat.

The guides, drivers, and pushers all performed well, and the majority were very good to superb. All were very conscientious, always looking to be helpful in any way they could. Everyone was in good humor and enjoyable to be with. The guides were all well informed and ready to share their knowledge and answer all of our questions which never ended. Several of the guides introduced us to local restaurants for lunch which served exceptional cuisine. The vehicles were all spotless, recent models. We were always greeted at the earliest possible location in the airports and train stations, assisted with our baggage, and escorted to the security check on departure. Everyone was always on time or, more likely, early. In 29 days we did not have a single incident or snafu or major problem Things went like clockwork. We want to give particular recognition to Michael Song in Guilin/Yangshuo, Jerry Hu in Beijing, Frank in Yingchang, and Eleven in Shenzhen. They were are real standouts, excellent guides, and friends.

At the beginning, we contacted two of the other top China custom tour companies. We found all responsive and I would bet the other two would have performed well. But as time passed we found that CCT just felt right, that there was a particularly good fit. We always felt fairly and honestly treated. We also believe that CCT was cost competitive. In sum, we strongly recommend China Culture Tours and Lydia Huang to anyone planning a China trip.
