This was simply wonderful can not recommend enough. Whether heavy rain or sunshine it’s still a beautiful place to visit. The guide, Andy was very knowledgeable about the area and gave an excellent suggestion for lunch trying the local bamboo chicken and sticky rice.

Andy Lee, our excellent tour organiser, driver and guide (he organised our 5-day Guilin and Yangzhou itinerary) picked us up early from our hotel in Guilin for our day tour to the Long-ji Rice Terraces. It rained much of the time, but the journey along the river was fascinating and the rice terraces gleamed in the occasional shafts of sun that broke through the clouds. Andy organised all the entry tickets and a wonderful lunch venue where we waited for the clouds to lift. They did for long enough, so Andy and I set off for a beautiful walk around the terraces and through the small village. The colour, textures, engineering and culture of the terraces make them a must-visit for anyone spending time Guilin. And we would highly recommend that you get Andy to take you there.

Our guide, Andy, was very polite and flexible. He agreed to pick us up from our hotel, in Yangshuo and after the tour, he droped us in Guilin train station, which was very convenient. He answered all our questions, he was patient, discreet and cheerful and he took us the best family photo of our trip ! We highly recommend both the tour and the guide!

Andy was already responsive when I booked the tours (I booked several tours and transfer with him). All transfers and tours were done in a professional manner, always punctual and well organized. Andy is a nice guide with a good sense of humor, always in a good mood. We felt very comfortable with him and can recommend him without any doubt.

Andy did a great job of arranging all the details of our 3 night tour--including hotel, breakfast,driver, and tours. We stayed at the Dragon River Retreat outside Yangshuo, an okay hotel with very hard beds, for the first 2 nights. Our first full day started with a walk to the bamboo rafting spot. It was early enough in the morning that the river wasn't crowded and photography was good despite the mist. We really enjoyed our walk through the Fuli old town, watching decorative fans being made. The Li River cruise on a private bamboo raft was very crowded with many other boats, large and small. We could have skipped this cruise. We did have a chance to wander around Yangshuo for a bit, have dinner, then take another raft trip to watch the cormorant fishing show. We decided to add the late Light Show and were really glad we did. It was spectacular! Andy was able to get us tickets and get us settled in our seats (there were masses of other people there).
Unfortunately our visit to Elephant Trunk Hill was done in heavy rain so we couldn't really appreciate the lovely gardens. But we enjoyed Reed Flute Cave. We certainly could have skipped the Pearl "Museum" which was just a shopping stop. Andy always found a good local restaurant to stop for lunch and recommended local dishes for us to try.
It's a long drive to the Longji rice terrace area and it was raining, but it was worth the drive for the views the next morning in the mists. We stayed at the Long Ji One Hotel, but didn't realize until the day before that we would have to walk all the way up to the village to get to the hotel. We would have preferred a more comfortable hotel (I guess there is one up there that is much nicer) but didn't know that one existed. Our encounter with the local ethnic long-hair ladies was very interesting. Later while walking through their village, we heard a singing performance going on and wished that Andy had mentioned that there was a possibility for such a thing.
We would definitely recommend Andy to any future travelers to the Yangshuo area. He's a licensed tour guide with a good command of English. He has a set tour but can vary it to suit your needs and desires.

This was an amazing tour! Our private tour guide Andy was professional, knowledgeable, and lots of fun! He was also incredibly flexible and accommodating. Our schedule was constrained by our flight scheduled in the mid-afternoon. Andy happily accommodated our schedules and created a custom schedule to work around our flight. He provided transportation from our hotel to all of the destinations included on our scheduled tour. He was always happy to answer our questions, and had a detailed historical knowledge of the terraces. Over the course of the day we saw all of the major scenic spots around the rice terraces and the nearby minority villages. It was an incredible experience! I highly recommend this tour, and Andy is the perfect guide for people new to China. At the end of our trip he dropped us off at the airport, and everything was very reasonably priced. Five stars!

Our trip to Longji rice terraces was so unforgettable; Dazhai and Ping'An were really beautiful. Our trip wouldn't be that enjoyable without our guide, Andy.
He was so flexible with timing that I asked him to stay longer so we would be able to see the sunset at Ping'An, which he agreed to. When we arrived in Ping'An, all of a sudden everything was covered in clouds, and we decided to go back to Guilin before sunset.
However, we did take some impressive photos both in Dazhai and Ping'An. I must say, the cloudy Ping'An has its own beauty. And Andy was so patient with our ever-changing requests.
He was so flexible with timing that I asked him to stay longer so we would be able to see the sunset at Ping'An, which he agreed to. When we arrived in Ping'An, all of a sudden everything was covered in clouds, and we decided to go back to Guilin before sunset.

We had two unforgettable days with our guide Andy in the rice terraces. Highlights were the hike between two ancient villages through the greenest and lushest rice terraces and the cable car ride in the third village.

We had a great day with Andy! He’s very knowledgable, funny, and easy going. And his English is excellent. The terraces were beautiful — well worth the long trip. Afterwards, Andy offered to take us to Yangshuo to see West Street and the river show, which we’d wanted to do but weren’t sure we’d have time. The additional trip to Yangshuo (including the tickets) was very affordable, and Andy was very accommodating, driving us back to our hotel in Xingping afterwards. All in all, it was a great experience. If we were staying in the area longer we’d hire Andy again.
