Stop At: Irkutsk Hydropower Dam, Irkutsk Russia

On the way to the starting point of the hike, we will drive 60 kilometers to Lake Baikal on one of the most beautiful roads in the region called Baikalskiy Tract. The road goes along the Angara River, the only river that drains the lake. By going this way our travelers will find out how the Russian countryside looks, how much a dacha (country house) means to the local people here, and a lot of other interesting and curious facts.

Stop At: Listvyanka Market, Gorkogo, 111/3 Next to Hotel Priboy, Listvyanka 664520 Russia

The journey begins with stopping by the office of the national park in Listvyanka Village, which is located right on the shore of Lake Baikal. Here, we will arrive early in the morning (by 9:30 AM or so), have a cup of tea or coffee on the shore, look at the map of the lake, get some instructions about being good and safe along the way and then begin our beautiful hike on the Great Baikal Trail.

Stop At: Lake Baikal, E Russia

An hour and a half after setting our feet on the Great Baikal Trail, we will have a box lunch on the Baikal shore listening to the waves and having a sunbath. Somewhere in the middle of the path, we will choose a wild beach to have some rest and swim in the lake. In 7 hours, we will reach an observation point on Skriper Cliff and will see the entire beauty of this trail from the elevation of 200 meters. To come back to Listvyanka, we will take a boat and then a private car transfer from Listvyanka to Irkutsk.

Anna, 6.5-7 hours. There is one place where the landscape is not flat and we have to walk up for 25-30 minutes. But we will do at the beginning of the path and the other part of the path is pretty much easy.
