You will drive in a comfortable air-conditioning vehicle around the historical part of the Imperial St. Petersburg. You will see its main streets and squares, marvelous cathedrals and monuments, beautiful bridges and palaces. You will get acquainted with the history of the foundation and development of this gorgeous city. On the tour you will have some stops for taking pictures - by the Egyptian Sphinx what according to legend guard and protect St. Petersburg, on St. Isaac's square – one of the most central squares of the city, on the Spit of Vasilievsky island. After the city tour you leave the city for Peterhof. The drive will take you about 45-55 minutes. Peterhof - the former summer residence of Peter the Great – is world-known for the picturesque Lower Gardens with spectacular fountains, the Grand Palace and numerous smaller Palaces and pavilions representing "Russian Versailles". You will walk through the gardens with your guide and get acquainted with its history. By the park you may have a lunch at a local blinni cafe.
The drive back to the city will take about 1 hour. This afternoon enjoy the unique collection of the Faberge eggs and royal jewelry. The collection has more than 4,000 items, which in addition to the works of Faberge include items produced by other Russian artists. The luxurious interiors of the newly reconstructed Shuvalov Palace will impress you. After the tour at about 17.30 you go back to the ship or hotel. Or you can stay in the city for some evening activities : Russian ballet, folkshow “Feel yourself Russian” or Dinner with a Russian family. This morning you will travel to see some everyday life of locals: you will visit some opulent stations of metro, Farmer's market, St. Nicolas cathedral. At about 10.30 after a walk on the Palace square you will enter the Hermitage museum with your guide. You will be able to see the splendid state halls of the Winter Palace - the former Tzar's residence. You will see the luxurious halls which witnessed important historical meetings. You can see the exact room where the revolution started. Art lovers will enjoy the unique art collection. The tour will take you about 2,5 hours. Then you leave the Hermitage museum for the romantic boat ride along small rivers and canals of the “Northern Venice”.
At about 2 pm when you arrive you may stop at a local cafe for a lunch. You guide will bring you to a place where the locals love to eat.
At about 3 pm you have a tour of the Church on Spilled Blood – a piece of authentic Russia.
At about 4.30 you will be back to the ship.
