We were in a large bus and basically had 2 seats per person. Ever was our guide and was very good. We were given a very detailed, timed itinerary for our 8:30AM-3:40PM tour and amazingly enough we were on time the entire day, to the minute! Here's the itinerary: 08:30 a.m. - Leave Salaverry port for Huacas del Sol and La Luna.09:00 a.m. - Arrive at Huacas del Sol and La Luna.10:40 a.m. - Go to the historic center of Trujillo.11:10 a.m. - Visit the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Urquiaga Mansion.12:00 p.m. - Go to Chan Chan.12:20 p.m. - Arrive at Chan Chan and visit Nik An Palace.1:30 p.m. - Go to the fishing village of Huanchaco.1:55 p.m. - Arrive in Huanchaco to see the reed boats (caballitos de totora) and lunch on your own.3:00 p.m. - Leave for Salaverry port.3:40 p.m. - Arrive back at the port.It was a great day and I was the one that organized the tour for 15 people using CruiseCritic. Peru Routes was very quick to respond and allowed each person to pay his/her own $30 deposit via PayPal or credit card and then the rest ($25) was due at the end of the tour in USD cash. - Tammy C0 contributionsGreat Day!This was a very nice day. We booked this tour with a group going from cruise port in Salaverry, Peru. The tour operator was waiting for us right off the ship holding a sign with name of person who booked the tour. We paid a deposit with Pay-Pal and paid balance in USD on day of tour. The Temple of the Moon/Sun were fantastic! We did a brief walking tour through the main square of Trujillo and toured home of Simon Bolivar and the Cathedral. We visited Chan-Chan and the beach with reed boats. I'm so glad we got to see all that we did, it was a long day with a fair amount of walking. We did over 10,000 steps. Luis did a great job, and our driver kept us safe. The roads are bumpy at times. We had lunch at Sombrero restaurant at the beach and it was good - try the Pisco Sour! They took VISA. I would highly recommend this tour and tour operator to make the most of a 1 day visit to Trujillo. Take water, a snack, and a hat. Lunch was around 1:45.Written February 1, 2019
