- RillaS10 contributionsFull day tour of Uros and TaquileExcellent tour. The walk up to the market place in Taquile is a bit difficult because of the altitude. The lunch was very good. Only negative was sitting in the fast boat for one hour waiting for the rest of the passengers.Written October 9, 2019
- RosanneB1440 contributionsGreat homestay experience but very poor travelVisiting the Uros Islands and the homestay in Amantani was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. However, be aware that there is ALOT of uphill walking involved. This activity is for fit people - NOT for older or out of shape folks at all. Also, be aware that you’ll be spending A LOT of time on an extremely slow boat going from point to point. Not a good use of time if your vacation it limited.Written September 30, 2019
- Eliana G0 contributionsOverlandersWe stayed in Pacha confortable. The first night was free to contact us with Juan Carlos for couchsurfing. Then we pay 10 soles per night to park in your closed and safe yard. We sleep in the car. They give you access to the bathroom and the living rooms. If you want shower or breakfast you can pay separately. Very helpful staff.Written July 6, 2019
- shihtzulover10 contributionsWorth the long dayWe took this tour and did not know what to expect. We boarded the motorboat a group of about 22, very comfortable and the driver was very knowledgeable of the routes and the water. The translator was very informative and knowledgeable, willing to answer any questions. First we visited the Uros floating islands, surreal experience to see a whole culture of people living in the middle of the lake. Definitely tourism helps support the community by purchasing their hand made knits, pottery crafts and goods. It would be so interesting to study this culture further. Then we took a long boat ride to Tequille island, literally is in the middle of this immense lake. We had to hike a very steep road, we saw an elderly lady walking behind us on a zig zag motion so we tried t and made the hill more tolerable. We visited the local people who are an equally interesting culture. They survived from what they grow and fish. The males do most of the knitting of their crafts. Here you definitely want to purchase scarfs or hats they were beautiful and you can find alpaca and wool knits. I didn’t bring any money and I regret that, we ate lunch there: local trout perfectly cooked, potatoes and rice with Aji sauce delicious. The boat ride is long over 2 1/2 hours made it a very long day, just to give you an idea how big is the lake we only explored about 1/8 of the lake and the lake is the size of the entire island of Puerto Rico. If you don’t mind the long day is a well worth experience I know I will cherish this memory forever.Written May 25, 2019

Do not recommend, please book another agency. Local tour group changed the itinerary on the day of the excursion and our group was unable to go to Sillustani. What a shame. Also, the tour group was 1 hour late. It would have been helpful if they contacted us about the change and delayed arrival, but nothing. 1/10 experience!
