- RuthyGlasgow0 contributionsVery peaceful canoe tripAfter our trek through part of the Tambopata National Reserve, it was great to get in a shared large canoe and drift/paddle towards the lake. We seen turtles, birds and even a red monkey. Very warm, peaceful and quiet morning trip.Written June 4, 2024
- B-Barkin0 contributionsBirthday to Remember!Sergio was incredible! We did this tour for my Birthday and he promised it would be a day to remember and it most certainly was. More importantly he was so knowledgeable about each and every aspect of the reserve. We were able to spot red howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, baby caiman and a myriad of other animals. We laughed, we sweat, we conquered. The tropical rainforest runs through his veins! Thanks Jungle Boy!Written June 2, 2023
- N647XXvickik0 contributionsWally is the BEST!We went on this tour with Wally as our guide. We saw so a lot of wildlife and learned all about the area. Wally is very knowledgeable and passionate about the jungle. My husband and I are older and I have bad knees. He was patient and kind and very attentive to making sure we were able to accomplish everything that the others were able to do on this tour.Written May 23, 2023
- BruceLocke0 contributionsAwesomeIt's very special, and the canoe trips at sunrise and sunset are unforgettable. We saw giant otters, alligators, lots of monkeys and all kinds of birdsWritten September 26, 2022

We are so grateful, we will always have fond memories & connections to Peurto Maldenado now & the culture. - Erom050 contributionsGetaway on the riverShanti, our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. She made the whole experience interesting and fun. The ride was beautiful, we were able to the see the sunset on the river and took great pictures. We saw a few of the caimans and a capibayra family. It was a great experience, we recommended this tour all the way.Written February 29, 2020
- ColinM15060 contributionsExcellent option to visit the jungle, see the macaws, monkeys and lot of animals! The accomodation was very confortable and it was nice to hear the sounds of the jungle at night. There was enough power to charge my stuff and be ready for the next day. It's also nice that it's completely dark at night, that makes a nice change from the cities. One night, I even saw a group of monkeys around the lodges which are right next to the jungle. When we went to the Clay lick, we probably got a bit lucky, there was a lot of Macaws. It was extremely beautiful to see them in group while being in the nature. The guides are very knowledgeable of the animals and of the jungle and they are also very friendly. I would definitely recommend to tour to anyone who likes the nature and animals, it's a great experience. Thanks Charlie and the team!Written February 8, 2020
- marthamH5782ZA0 contributionsVery impressive day in Tambopata National ReserveMy 8 years old son and I spent half a day with Charlie in the Tambopata Reserve. Before the twilight boat tour we booked a hike through the jungle. Charlie and the Tambopata Crew taught us a lot about the rainforest and made us feel very safe. After the ride back on a motorbike we enjoyed the sunset on the river. As soon as it was dark the search for caymans began and my son could help finding them and other animals on the river shore. And we did find them, different types of caymans, birds and capibaras! It was an unforgettable experience! Charlie and his team and all the guys from Tambopata Reserve were so enthusiastic and passionate about their region and the jungle. We can't thank them enough for this day!Written December 29, 2019
- 678deeptir0 contributionsThe most magical experience!Charlie and his team are amazing! We saw the most magical animals, beautiful landscapes and all our questions were promptly answered. From guiding us on all the different birds we spotted to helping us get a safe taxi they did it all! Their passion for the land and all its living inhabitants is clear and I would highly recommend them!Written December 12, 2019
- Vivek J0 contributionsAmazing 3D/2N tour of Macaw Clay Lick and Lake SandovalI was not sure what to expect and plan for the Amazon adventure. I spoke to Charlie and signed up with Green House Tambopata for a 3D/2N tour of both Macaw Clay Lick and Lake Sandoval. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2D/1N tour of the Chuncho Clay Lick. Charlie was amazing and extremely knowledgeable about the jungle. He explained about all the flora and fauna in the jungle. We stayed in an nice eco lodge deep in the jungle. We saw Caymans, monkeys, spiders, otters, Capybara, lots of Macaws to name a few. Lake Sandoval was pretty good, but I would have liked it more if we spent more time on the lake during the tour. After the tour, Charlie helped me plan the reminder of the tour and found me accommodation of the rest of my trip in Puerto Maldonado. I highly recommend the tour and make sure you get Charlie as your guide!!!Written December 12, 2019
- Victoria D0 contributionsLake Sandoval visitAfter a fact filled trek through the reserve where we saw tarantulas and giant trees learning many facts from our guide Silva as we went we arrived at the beautiful expanse of lake Sandoval. We took a canoe (and the children were allowed to join in paddling which went down brilliantly) we saw loads of wildlife such as turtles, Cayman, heron, tiger heron, howler monkeys, bats and many other birds but the highlight was the family of otters who put on a wonderful display fishing along side our boat. These endangered animals were a sight to behold. Take sun screen and hats, and insect repellent as these are essential. Definitely a trip I would recommend.Written October 28, 2019
- Dan S0 contributionsThe Best Way To Discover the Amazon RainforestCharlie and his team are the best things the jungle has to offer. They really know what they do. And more than that, they love their jungle. They will take you everywhere you should go and with passion. Don't hesitate, this is the best option.Written October 22, 2019
- Federico F0 contributionsBest Organization to fully enjoy the Jungle! We partecipated a 3 days/2 nights programme in Puerto Paldonado's surroundings with Green House - Tambopata (Charlie's organization, comprehending much of the offered activities). Enjoying such natural spontaneous beauty with an experienced competent guide (witch took care of us all the time), adventurous but careful, was an experience I'll never forget. Everything was comprehended, and everything was up to our expectations: good and local food, gorgeous accomodation in their riverside-lodges (surrounded by wild), nice time-profitable organization of the activities and, of course, a guide that always knew where to look to find the cayman, the rare monkey of frog (depending on hours :D). Adventure activities we experienced (kayak, zipline, canopy tree bridges) where also well organized and breath-taking. Soo... stop reading this boring review, and JUST WRITE CHARLIE!Written October 18, 2019
- memo7411mex0 contributionsThe best tour in Tambopata! Amazing Experience! This tour was amazing, the guides were always professional, and they were always on the lookout for us, the food was spectacular , like the tour, the lake is incredible and you can certainly not leave Tambopata without visiting it, it was an incredible experienceWritten September 24, 2019
- AnnAWiniarska0 contributionsThe best tour ever!I have been on many tours while travelling Peru and this was definitely the best one. We were a small group of 4 people, so we could ask plenty of question and at the end I really had a feeling to learn something about the nature there. Our guide was just awesome, he has known absolutely everything about all the animals dort and spotted plenty of them (and about the plants as well). The lunch, boat, hiking, paddling, picking up etc...everything perfectly organised and very relaxing. I can recommend it to everyone going with those guys and it was for me an absolutely amazing experience. Thank you so much for that!Written September 19, 2019

All three of us are very impressed with Charlie and his crew!
Starting from the punctual (!) pickup in the morning, we were provided with fantastic care, views and first-hand fun-facts throughout the day. Special thanks to the guide Wally with whom we had the pleasure of spending time in the jungle and on the river.
We were supposed to stay until the early afternoon but after a delicious, homemade lunch and thanks to the wonderful atmosphere, we decided to admire the sunset from the boat deck and then search for nocturnal animals together.
All in all highly recommended!

Charlie was really helpful and got in contact with us when we arrived in Puerto Maldonado helping us to navigate the town even before we started the tour.
The tour itself was everything that was advertised and more. We kayaked along the Amazon (first time for both of us), ziplined through the jungle vegetation and saw a monkey at monkey Island.
On top of that there were some perks that were not on the description as they were new additions: the best was visiting a family of natives which are trying to preserve the jungle from illegal hunters and loggers. They welcomed us with their traditional songs and face paints and we smoked the pipe together, and they talked with us about their efforts to save the jungle. It was a very pleasant surprise.
We also had access to a very refreshing swimming pool during the lunch break.
My favorite surprise however was when we were able to see sloths on our way back.
Highly recommended indeed!

Very good tour. Jair the guide is very kind and patient. He takes the time to explain more than once. His knowledge of the places we visited is evident and he is very cool.
All activities were completed and we were given all the facilities offered.
We expected a little more from the food but it wasn't bad.
Regards, and thank you very much!
