    4D/3N Lakes Experience
Our experience was great from start to finish. We were picked up at the airport and everything was well organised and arranged all the way until the drop off at the airport 4 days later. We booked through someone called Mike on the tripadvisor forum and he was super helpful and friendly throughout. We wouldn't have been able to have this experience without his guidance. The food was great, the environment we were in (the rainforest!) was spectacular, the lodge was really nice and most importantly not too luxurious! It would not have been an authentic experience if we were in a 5* resort in the Amazon. Nonetheless, it was a very well maintained, comfortable and clean lodge with all the facilities needed.

    Welcome to the Jungle
Review is for 4 day/3 nights at the Finca lodge I'm so glad I went to the Jungle Pro Finca lodge. Our guide, Yuri (hopefully spelled right) was knowledgeable, friendly, and had a great eye for the animals while we were hiking. We got to go the macaw lake, look for caimans on a late night boat ride, and go on several day and night hikes through the forest. I know they can't promise any particular animals, but we saw everything we realistically hoped to see and a few delightful surprises on top. I also felt like I learned more about the jungle as an ecosystem and how it fits in with the humans who live there. The food was delicious. They only have ingredients that can be brought in by boat, so don't expect like, fancy food, but everything is solidly delicious and is hearty enough to fuel you through jungle treks. My favorite might have been the leek soup we ate--I wish I'd asked for the recipe. My only regret is in how I packed. I planned for hot weather so I packed shorts, but I forgot that bugs are a thing in the jungle--I know, I'm judging past-me too. When you go, bring light weight, long sleeved shirts and long pants. Don't be like me--after getting bit on my first day, I switched to jeans and denim was not made for the jungle. Marina wool will be your friend, so will bug spray and anti-itch cream. They do provide mosquito netting and do their best, but you need to pack for it too. Be ready for limited electricity, wifi, and cooling technology--you're in the middle of the jungle, not a fancy hotel. That said, I don't regret going, bug bites, jeans and all: It was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience and even me--a proud couch potato--loved the experience.

Highly Recommended to anyone who would like to experience the wildest amazon!
Everything was perfect when I started emailing them to ask questions, even though their website lists details and Q&A. Oscar is patient, responsive, and customer-focused. Our tour guide is so good eyesight and knowledgeable that he could spot animals from the riverbanks and jungles, he could find nocturnal creatures at night, he could explain animals and local stories as an expert! He even used a leave to attract a Tarantula out of his cave! He filmed amazing videos for macaws and parrots as if he were a documentary photographer. Lots of fun with him, and learned a lot from him. Besides, the accommodation is located close to the river and surrounded by jungles. OMG! I had unforgettable memories of nature music made from birds, insects, and others. The bed is so comfortable like those in high upscale hotels. Furthermore, I was literally amazed by how high quality of food they provided. Kudos to the Chef! We really enjoyed 3-course meals with fresh fruit juices. The tour was arranged well with several nap times, even though we had to wake up early or walk in the jungle at night or in the rain or in hot temp. No complaints, because all those made this trip wonderful and special.

    2 nights enough
Did the 4D3N with Junglepro - I will say that the finca and the boat are top tier and well worth the money. They have also put together a one stop shop taking care of all your transport, food and guide needs, a great package. However, 2 nights seem to me to be enough, especially given the low chance of sighting anacondas / otters / jaguars. I was disappointed in the lack of wildlife spotted for the money paid. To see the same animals, a cheaper provider would suffice.

    One unforgettable experience
In my opinion we were very lucky to book with this agency. Mr. Oscar had a deep knowledge and respect for the Amazon ecosystem. Every minute of our jungle tour was unforgettable. All the excursions were amazing and the stay at the Amazon hotel an unforgettable experience. We wanted to stay there forever! Mr. Oscar, thank you for everything. We will remember you for ever as part of our journey. Greetings from Greece

    Highly recommend!
My husband and I did a 3D/2N tour with JunglePro in late August, the tour was excellent from start to finish. From my initial contact, Oscar was very prompt and answered all my concerns. The airport pickup by Carlos was smooth, once we arrived their office in town, Delia provided us refreshing welcome drinks. We then took boat ride for about 2 hours from the office to Finca lodge. Lunch was offered on the boat, nicely packed with traditional leaves and basket, a romantic boat ride! We especially want to thank our guide Yuri, he is an enthusiastic naturalist, very knowledgeable, professional and fun. He pointed out many wildlife during our boat rides as well as jungle walks. We saw capibaras, caimans, several type of monkeys and various species of birds, insects. The macaws clay click tour was fantastic! We were really grateful that Yuri carried a scope for the tour, which allow us to observe the macaws from far distance. He even had cell phone attachment to the scope so we can take pictures and videos using cell phone. Also thanks to our boat driver Marlo, he was very experienced in operating the boat, smooth and confident, even in the 4:00am darkness. A few nice surprise, the lodge is located in the wilderness, yet is amazingly upscaled, built with high quality wood structure, with screen all around, preventing bugs while allowing fresh breeze, like a paradise and fits the wildness environment at the same time. The company is also really considerate, provided blankets on the boat to keep us warm during early morning ride. Over all this was an amazing tour, highly recommend!

    Thank you Yuri!
We did the Tambopata 4 days 3 nights tour and had the most amazing four days. Yuri our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, ensuring we were well looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed the different juices and the food was great. We were even surprised the lodge had WiFi and electricity available. 10/10 would recommend!

    Amazing Amazon!
Would highly recommend this tour to all nature lovers and those wanting to explore and immerse themselves in the Amazon. Tour guides were fantastic and so knowledgeable, Finca lodge in particular is brilliant and the Sandover Lake location is stunning. Plenty of wildlife to spot, with a range of activities throughout the three days. Spotting River Otters definitely the highlight! Would highly recommend!

    Awesome
Excellent place. I didn't see lot of animals but just enjoyed the scenery and jungle and it was enough for me. The food was super tasty. Credit goes to chef. Our guide John was able to share our preference to chef. John was our guide and I have no complaints, he took care of everything. In the bar, ask for fresh fruit juices, you will be amazed with the fresh natural taste.

    Great experience with some caveats
We booked the 3 day 2 night tour. The flight lands in the afternoon at Puerto. Our guide Eddie picked us up from the airport, went to the office for checkin - all of which took about an hour and then it was a 2-2.5 hour boat ride to the lodge. They gave us lunch on the boat which was very good. Along the way we spotted capybaras, caimans, turtles and some birds. It was late in the afternoon by the time we got to the lodge. Around 530pm we left for a night walk in the rainforest with Eddie. We loved it as Eddie pointed out so many different creatures and insects. The next morning we woke up at 315am for the boat ride to the clay licks. Here's one thing I didnt know about this boat ride. The boat captain uses star light to drive. No kidding. He does not use boat lights. Its fully dark, we can barely see the river and there are logs and rocks jutting out of it. This felt very risky to me especially since we have two small kids with us. We spoke to the boat captain Marlo - he grew up near the river and has many years of experience and probably knows the river very well. But at 430am when the boat is going full speed and we cant see anything - it didn't feel very safe. One thing to note is that the ride is 2-2.5 hours long and it gets very cold. They give blankets, which is a nice touch but I would recommend atleast 2 good layers of warm clothing. Watching the macaws and parrots at the clay lick was a cool experience. But you are a good distance away from the birds which I didnt know beforehand. So you can only see them with binoculars or other scopes. The one Eddie was carrying had fog inside so it wasn't very good. Its really hard to take photos with a phone cameras as the birds are far away. They setup a breakfast tent for us which was a nice touch again - I didnt see other boats doing it. We were tired after breakfast (it was 6+ hours since we woke up in the morning and we still had a 2 hour ride to get back) and unfortunately we got delayed by more than an hour due to this snooty couple (guy from London, gal from South Africa) who refused to leave the clay lick. After getting back it was a short break for showers, then lunch and then 1 hr to take a nap after which it was time for the rainforest day time walk. Quite a packed day, with not much time for rest but we enjoyed this walk a lot as well.  Next morning we had to leave immediately after breakfast. So, at the lodge and nearby we only got 1.5 days and 2 nights.  - Oscar, who is the director, is exceptionally responsive to texts and emails which I really appreciate. I think he could have communicated better about the cold and about the risk levels of going to the clay lick without light. - Eddie was an awesome naturalist who spotted a lot of wildlife for us. I wish he had a better scope to view the birds. - We are vegetarians from India and felt that all the food they gave us was very good. (breakfast at Clay licks wasn't great but due to the remoteness it's the best that can be done) - Accommodations were comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. We could see the milky way at night.

    Amazing Jungle Experience!
I was so lucky to experience nature life! I joined back in May 2023 for 3 day tour. I got to see monkeys, snakes, so many beautiful birds, and more! Pepe and Oscar were great guides! The food was amazing as well. Highly recommend this company!! Make sure if you bring bud sprays and sun screen for sure.

An Amazing Way To Discover The Rainforest!!!
My wife and I wanted to visit the Amazon Rainforest for our honeymoon. Though JunglePro already had excellent reviews, the thing that initially put it over the rest was Oscar's prompt and helpful responses to our early questions. The company was great at getting back to us about queries, concerns or clarifications and it really set the tone for what would be an amazing trip! We were met at Puerto Maldonado airport, taken to the offices for an easy check in process and then we were away! A boat taking us 2-hours up river to the heart of the rainforest! The lodge was picturesque and accomodating, with a restaurant, bar and amazing wood-built lodges, surrounded by jungle. We even saw some wildlife walking by from our rooms! The activities were amazing, a mixture of daytime and night time hikes, voyages upriver to see the clay lick, boating across a lake looking for anacondas and even fishing for piranhas. We saw monkeys, birds, tarantulas, alligators, tree frogs and many other species, which our guide Yuri was invaluable in spotting and identifying. Yuri accompanied us throughout the trip and demonstrated a vast knowledge of the fauna in the area, he was incredibly personable and friendly and always kept us informed about the day's events in good time. His expertise really took the trip to a whole other level! In summary, we can definitely recommend JunglePro if you're looking to experience the Rainforest. Can safely say we enjoyed our trip from beginning to end.

    Excellent Jungle Tour
Tour was excellent from start to finish. The moment we landed there was a driver waiting for us. On return to Puerto Maldonado the driver dropped our friends to their accomodation and then dropped us all to a recommended lunch spot (which was really good). He collected me and my husband after to drop us to the airport. Our guide Freddy was really knowledgeable on all the animals, plants and the jungle area. We saw so much wildlife, my favourite being the Macaws Clay licking. Freddy is a really nice guy and was a pleasure to have him as our tour guide. The lodges were really nice and clean. The food was great, as was the barman Carlos! Our boat driver was great and had his little kid accompany him on the boat who was a really sweet kid. I couldn't recommend this tour enough. It exceeded all my expectations. There is alot of mosquitos in the wet season so come prepared.

    Excellent Amazon Experience
We are a family of four and after reading many reviews, suggestions - we decided to go with JunglePro. There is also a person in Tripadvisor MikeinCusco (destination expert) and we went with his suggestion. Trip was excellent. We were picked up by van, taken to office to deposit larger items and taken what was needed for our 3 days 2 nights trip. It was almost a 3 hour boat trip in Tambopata lake with a lunch provided in traditional leaf wrapped fried rice with banana. Banana was similar to South Indian flavor. We were provided a fresh passion fruit juice on entry. Around 12 independent cottages and we stayed in one of them. Surrounding was good with various trees, exotic flowers and large leaf Amazon trade marks. First day we went on night walk in jungle around - seeing large trees, frogs, Tarantula and monkeys. Second day left at 4am - 2 hour drive to see Macaw Claylick - perfect weather plenty of Macaws, Parrots and even seen few Vultures, Cranes and Roseate Spoonbill. Due to protests, very few tourists. After watching and enjoying through the telescope brought by guide - we left. In an island between the river - we took the breakfast brought by the tour operator - Pancakes, Fruits etc. Another walk in the jungle in the evening - witnessed more nice ones. In the night we went to see Caymans (Crocodiles) it is surprising - when the Guide focus flash lights, eyes of the reptile glows. I never thought it will be this easy to identify a reptile in the night in pitch dark. Had Good lunches and dinners - special category meals. On the 3rd day - we were dropped back. Everything went perfect. Hope the protests does not affect the tourism business - it is a beautiful place and everyone must enjoy. Thanks to the guide Freddy, organizer Oscar who was responsive in providing immediate responses to our queries and emails, Boat captain, Chef and everyone in JunglePro.

    Incredible from start to finish
Everything was so well planned from start to finish. This was an incredible tour in every way! Our guide, Freddie, took great care to ensure we saw wildlife and learned a lot about the jungle. The food was super tasty and fresh- huge portions for every meal. The tour was the perfect amount of relaxation and adventure. If you enjoy the outdoors, hiking especially, this is the tour for you. The rooms at the lodge were gorgeous. Very well cared for. We just loved it. Book this tour!!

We did the 4D/3N package the last week of April, this is during the dry season.

Freddy was our wonderful guide during our 4 days of adventure. He is very professional, knowledgeable and passionate about educating everyone about the Jungle. We learned a Tremendous amount about the jungle, River, animals, life in the jungle and local community.

This was an amazing experience, the amount of effort put into all aspects was phenomenal. Kudus to Oscar and his team for a great adventure.

We were fortunate to see a lot of wildlife on each day. From River Otters to Scarlet Macaws.

The accommodations at Finca was very nice and new. The area around all the buildings is very lush with flora and well manicured.
They provide power twice a day to recharge electronics. The rooms have a nice comfortable bed and ample space.

The common area is very relaxing with several hammocks and a great bar. Marco makes some great libations. They have a few beer choices and stocked bar (cash only) either US dollars or Soles. All three meals were very delicious and filling. They will accommodate any food allergies or preferences.

The accommodations at the Lake Sandoval Lodge is a bit more rustic.
The scenre around Lake Sandoval is gorgeous and full of wildlife.
The common area has hammocks and bar as well.
Again the food was delicious and filling.

Tips- bringing ear plugs in case you have noisy neighbors (we had this for two nights) or the wildlife is a bit much for you at night.

Overall, a great experience!

Hello Patrick, Thank you your review and details about the wildlife you can see during our tours, we are happy to announce a very much needed and asked service , which is 24H electricity, now all the cabañas at Finca sachavacayoc have electricity all the time, not the few hours we had before! Thank you and we hope to see you again.

we can only echo all the good reviews here but also want to specifically recommend Joel our tour guide. He was incredible in finding animals and at the same respectful to the nature. Thanks to his knowledge and espertise we got to see some great wildlife including four different types of monkeys, capibaras, huge caymans and river otters. I also strongly recommend the 4 day tour as this includes one night at the sandoval lake where we got lucky to see the otters. The tour itself is well organised and they seem to care about the nature and wildlife. Everything from the pick up to the drop off was smooth. Although some day trips start early in the morning this is to experience the wildlife and you still get to have some time to relax afterwards in hammocks and with pisco sours at one of their lodges what comes with a bar.

we had a very good tour, in which we saw many wild animals from these are. we had Yuri as a guide and he was really good - he has a lot of experience and knowledge and his english is fluent. he showed us caymans, giant otters, howling monkeys, boa serpent in the night and capibara.
the agency gave their best to offer us a extraordinary experience. they gave a lot of attention to all details, beginning with somebody transfering your luggage to adapting the tour to yout preferences.
finca sachavachayoc is an extraordinary place to stay - a lot of monkeys from the jungle around come close to your room.
casa sandoval offers modest accomodation, but worths the visit because around lake sandoval you see lots of animals and birds.
i’m very glad we had this tour!

Our experience to the jungle was absolutely wonderful. Our guide Joel (sp?) was very knowledgeable about the area and extremely kind. He went over and beyond searching for wildlife and pointing out interesting facts about the landscape. We saw multiple species of monkey, caiman, tree frogs, birds, insects, and small mammals. The cabanas are very nice- you get a chance to sleep in the jungle all while feeling comfortable and safe.

Some things to keep in mind when going to the jungle is you’re going to want clothing that can protect against the sun and more importantly the insects/wildlife. Long paints and long sleeves that are breathable are important and make sure you have a few good options because you will definitely get sweaty/dirty and not want to rewear the next day.

Another thing that wasn’t noted ahead of time is the lack of service or Wi-Fi connection at the lodge. This made for a very relaxing escape from the crazy world but came at a surprise as we couldn’t check in with our friends and family. Just make sure to get your affairs in order before you leave the office.

Overall this was a great experience and I would recommend to any nature lover!

Enjoyed the trip. Oscar and his crew are very professional, sincere, friendly and responsive. All aspects of the tour were planned and executed perfectly. The food was exquisite. Even on a day when we set out at 3 am (to see the McCaws)they brought along cooked breakfast! We only wished the electricity could be kept on for more hours - especially during the night. It was difficult to sleep when it was hot and humid with no fans. I would recommend this package with Junglepro.

It was me and my father(71 years old).
We choose 3 nights and 4 days. The organisation was on point, sharp on time in everything and everything they said it was done.
Oscar, the owner, was super kind and helpful even before I completed my booking.
Our guide was Joel, a very polite and extremely knowledgeable man, you could see that it is his passion and it master the jungle…it was able to predict the rain just few minutes before it was coming, as well as oriented in fully dark nights…and I didn’t even mention how much he knew about every single tree and animal, behaviour included.
He was awesome, humble and patient.
These guys really worked hard and they did reach the excellence for us on everything!
Regarding the lodges: the first one where we spent our first two nights “Finca Sachavacayo” was great, taken care in everything. It was very beautiful, comfortable and clean.
The food was amazing and well presented.
The one in which we stayed the last night on “Sandoval river” was unlikely another story, apparently was run by a local family…they described it to us as modest and it was modest plus for us really needed important improvements.
It was not peaceful during the nights, that’s because the rooms communicate to each other with extremely thin wood walls and nets and you literally could hear even the drop of the sink of your neighbours like it was right next to your hear. It was extremely difficult to have a proper sleep, so in case you go, don’t forget to bring earplugs!!! The structure was very basic, clean and the food ok. I would personally not suggest it for more than a night though. Positive point was the lake, lots of wildlife such us many caimans, birds, long nose bats, monkeys and the stars…what a sky full of stars sooo amazing.
The staff was polite and smiley so on a scale I still rate it very positive.
For us those 4 days were simply great and I highly recommend it!
All of the staff members are such hard workers, so precise and full of know how that is simply stunning!

Hello, Thank you for the detail review, we appreciate this very much, you are right about Casa Sandoval at Sandoval lake, this small lodge with 5 rooms only its run by a local family that lives at Sandoval lake for 3 generations, being a B&B its basic, but all this is compensated by its location, it gives access to the best of the lake at the best time, 1 night at San sob lake it's long enough to see the best of it for full comfort and same wildlife, we have options like Finca Sachavacayoc only. We are gad that you enjoyed the overall experience. Thank you.

There is no other way to go than to go with JunglePro! From the first minute of e-Mail exchanges with Oscar to the goodbyes with our fabulous guide, Joel, 5 days later at the office in Puerto Maldonado this was a trip we would take again and again. The entire company is so professional, efficient, and welcoming. We were met at the airport right on time, made comfortable at the office with a well-timed lunch, and settled into the beautiful two hour boat ride down the river with our guide Joel. On our return Oscar’s wife had our boarding passes ready and we made our flight to Lima right on time after an early morning canoe on the lake. Every minute with JunglePro is perfectly timed ballet.

Joel is simply outstanding—kind, patient, interesting, supremely knowledgeable about every plant and animal in the Amazon. In the five days with Joel as our guide we saw and identified over 40 birds! He can call to all of them. We didn’t see any of the “big ticket” animals, but hiking and canoeing with Joel made us see so many amazing details of the jungle. If there had been a jaguar (we did hear a baby jaguar crying), anaconda or tapir in our path Joel would not have missed it.

The cabins at Finca Sachavacayoc are beautiful and inviting with big comfortable beds, an individual porch for each cabin, a clean modern bathroom and plenty of space. Tea, cookies and crackers were available in the lodge at all times. The food was just OK, but the best part of meals was sitting with Joel as we assessed the day. We wished we could have stayed there longer. Though the cabin at Lake Sandoval is much more rustic (and only cold showers) there is a comfortable lodge there as well as a kind staff. The meals at Lake Sandoval were substantially better. But, being on the lake, especially at night, is astounding! Don’t skip it!

JunglePro is the way to go!

From the moment I contacted Oscar to enquire about this to the moment they dropped us back at the airport, the team couldn’t do enough for us.
We started off at the Finca which was beautiful, gorgeous, spacious rooms in lovely grounds with monkeys, the staff were fab, and the food was amazing! Our guide was Freddy who was brilliant- he grew up here and knew so much.
Loved that there was a place to refill water bottles ( the only place we stayed in Peru where we could do this). The clay salt lick was brilliant, as was the night walk and walk to the lake. We saw an anaconda (😱), fished for piranha, tarantulas, capybara, loads of birds, butterflies and monkeys.
After 2 nights we went to Sandaval Lake, the lodge here was much more basic and food nowhere near as good but again we saw lots of animals- caiman extremely close to our boat both during the day and night and lots of monkeys.
On our last morning our son was sick and Freddy and the rest of junglepro couldn’t do enough to help- from organising someone from the lodge next door to help with a contraption to carry him along the boardwalk to sending an early boat with medication. We can’t thank them enough.
If you are looking for a locally owned, friendly company who know the area well and who go over and above, book with Junglepro, I promise you won’t regret it. We came away with memories to last a lifetime,
Thank you so much Oscar, Marco, Freddy and everyone else, you are amazing!

We had an excellent experience with our guide, Yuri, in the Jungle. We spent our first night in Lake Sandoval and saw heaps of animals, monkeys, birds, caiman, turtles, snakes and may other animals. Then we travelled to Finca Sachavacayoc lodge, on the way there we saw a lot more animals, including capybaras. On our trip we also saw an anaconda, tarantulas and lots of parrots!
This was one of your favourite tours we did in Peru. We were so lucky to have such an amazing guide, like Yuri!

Amazing once in a lifetime tour of the Amazon! JunglePro Tours were very efficient in communication and the whole trip ran smoothly from airport pickup to drop off with Oscar. Food and accommodation at Finca Sachavayoc was well above expectations with huge rooms and delicious meals. The B&B is Lake Sandoval is more basic but still clean and nice.

Yuri was an excellent guide who clearly cares a lot about the area and animals ensuring we saw many different creatures up close - the highlights being the various monkey groups, caimans and Macaws.

Make sure you wear long sleeved, loss fitting clothing with lots of bug spray as mosquitos are everywhere.

Highly recommend JunglePro tours for your Amazon trip!
