AVOID USING THE CASH MACHINE IN THEIR OFFICE ! IT'S A SCAM !! I used their cash machine in their office and the commission was too much so I cancelled the transaction. I then got my card back and didn't give me a receipt. I then noticed the mo ey had come out my bank even though I had cancelled the transaction. I went back to the office and reported it and was told this happens all the time and my money would be returned. It was never returned and had to report it to my bank. They have told my bank that I had the money and my card and pin was used. This is untrue and must be some sort of scam going on. Looks like I won't get my money back either. Be warned ⚠️ As for the trip We did, the driver dropped us off at the wrong place and had to all get back on bus after walking a long way to the wrong place. On pick up the driver never turned up and we had to wait in an isolated place for well over an hour with children with no toilets and no way to contact anyone. It was only by luck someone came past and helped us . Avoid ,avoid ,avoid

We were a bit worried as the weather was not in our favour when we arrived. However, once we got going and got used to our bikes the skies cleared and we had an amazing time on the dunes which felt too short. Mathew was a great guide and gave me enough time to get used to the bike as it was my 1st time. Would recommend if you are in the area.

We came on a cruise ship excursion (MSC Poesia) and they used this company. We all had a fantastic time! After the signing of the waivers, they gave us helmets, a short coaching session, and then a slow ride so everyone could get a feel for it. Many of us had never driven quad bikes before but we got the hang of it very quickly! Then we rode full speed over the dunes and it was fantastic fun! We rode for one hour.

Such a fun way to explore the dunes. It’s absolutely breathtaking! Mono, our guide, was so knowledgeable and made the quad bike tour so much fun for us. Thank you Mono for going the extra mile!

The closing time is advertised as 6pm, yet we arrived at 5pm and were told they were doing us a special favour by accepting our 30 minute booking for 5, we were made to feel like a big inconvenience. The Guides were pleasant enough but rushed our group through every point of our prep & 30 minute quad bike trip, so much so - we felt like it was nothing more than a tourist trap after all our excitement! The one and only time they did stop to talk to us in the desert was to explain in great detail how and where to tip them! On our return they stood close by waiting to be tipped, which we reluctantly did feeling under pressure! As 5 fellow tourism industry people we were left speechless by the whole experience and NOT in a good way.

We LOVED our quad bike tour and combo sandboarding!! I was nervous to quad bike (to go down hills) but our guide was amazing and made sure I felt comfortable by helping me go down a couple times until I got the hang on it! We had to most amazing time- definitely one of our best days ever!! Oh- and staff beforehand was great about answering all my questions!

We were in March with a large group of international conference participants on a 1 hour Quad bike and Camel ride! It was great that Desert Explorers could accommodate the disabilities of a few participants (not able to ride full speed/ or get in the camel) so that everybody got to see the beautiful Namib desert!! Personnell were very friendly and overall everything went super! Thank you!

Great explorer tour, see animals how they live and the dunes magnificent. The quads were great to go up and down around steep dunes of just sand. Pic screens are different

Average dune tour. Nice but not challenging enough. We did this activity 23 years ago and it was great and we wanted to bring our grown up kids back. However, it was fairly mundane and not to be remembered.

Amazing!! Had so much fun! Ali really took care of me and adjusted to my level of driving. He did videos of me driving, we explored gecko etc and time went by too quick!

Took 11 and 12 year old boys who said it was their favourite part of the trip! It was so much fun. Our guide showed us lots of interesting wildlife and helped us with photos. We had a great time navigating the dunes and views were amazing! A great way to spend a couple of hours, would have loved to spend the day on them!

I understand a “this is Africa” approach to safety but it’s worth questioning what you’re getting into if you pick this one. I assumed it would be very safe with low risk of serious injury, and good plans in place in worst case scenarios. Well, I broke my spine, and was told by the hospital that I was the 4th fracture in 4 days from here. In the U.K., a business wouldn’t exist with this track record. If you break a bone in the dunes, be aware that the guides are fab, lots of fun, but have limited first aid training (or none), don’t have backboards to stabilise any fractures and have no way of getting you out of the dunes except sat on the back of a quad bike for at least a few km to where 4x4’s can then meet you. Another tour operator I spoke to say they watch people daily being ferried out like this. So much fun until the accident, but I was completely unaware of how unsafe it is. Can’t comment on the boarding part of this as was in hospital before we made it there.

Great experience! Thanks to guides communications we saw all 5 little ones in natural habitate. Our guide Timo was very responsible and did a great job with us (family of five). Enjoyed quad biking very much!👌👍

Thrilling experience. Make sure to ask for a safety briefing since driving up the dunes can cause a small 'sand avalanche'. Knowing what to do in these conditions is important. Very enjoyable day and a really great experience.
