- jtlaudeman0 contributionsGreat reunion with old friends.I have taken camel and quad rides many times with Ahmed and his staff over the past five years. They never disappoint! This trip I was solo and took a quad ride up the beach to enjoy the beautiful weather and beach. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Essaouira. 🇲🇦❤️Written February 28, 2025

- RcN1230 contributions100% recommendThis was a brilliant trip, from the contact with Ahmed to the actual camel ride. Imed was our guide and he was great - gave us the outfits and did our head scarves and was very friendly and answered all our camel questions! He also took lots of brilliant arty family photos. We all enjoyed, would definitely recommend!Written February 19, 2025

- nancylN4370AP0 contributionsBEST tourist experience for people who hate tourist experiences!Fantastic experience. Our guide confirmed with us by text immediately after booking and then followed up the day of the activity and met us at a place of our choosing, right outside the Medina. Then they drove my cousin and I to the beach, wrapped us in arab garb and took us on a wonderful ride up and over dunes, across the highway to a place that Jimmy Hendrix visited in 1969, served us tea and cookies, then back on the camels for a spectacular ride along the water back towards our starting point, while our guide ran ahead of us on the ground taking professional quality photos and videos of us with my camera as the sun set. We also got to feed the camels cookies. The whole thing just for the two of us. AMAZING and great value! Highly recommend.Written February 15, 2025
- 7natalieo0 contributionsHighly recommended camel ride experienceWe had a fabulous time. 2 hrs was the perfect amount of time. We originally booked for the day of our arrival but our plane was diverted so couldn't make it. the company were quick to respond and agreed to us doing the experience the following day at 5pm. We picked this time as we experienced the day pictures and on the return got some fabulous sunset pictures along the shoreline. Imran our guide we great and was very informative. The camels - Zidane, Forest Gump and Tarzan were well kept and calm. we got to dress up in the Berber outfits which were great as it it very windy and Imran captured lots of great pictures for us. We traversed the dunes to Diabat for a drink and cakes at the Jimi Hendrix cafe. Then trekked back along the beach Very good value for money, and was dropped back next to Ocean Vagabond bar and taken back to our pick up point. Would highly recommend and thank you to all the team that provide this experienceWritten January 27, 2025

- willbG4349UO0 contributionsBeach ride with proposalI took my partner and family for a camel ride with a plan to propose to my beautiful partner. Everyone knew about the plan other than my partner and the guide. The guide was amazing. He took beautiful photos the entire time - far better than we could imagine, and was happy for us to stop and dismount the camels to “take some photos” (not knowing my plan). He then took numerous photos after the proposal and was so patient and happy for us. Greatest experience and I would recommend this to everyone I speak to. Thanks so much!!Written December 19, 2024

- jtlaudeman0 contributionsGreat rides, excellent staffMy wife and I are back in Essaouira again the s week. One thing we always do while we are here is go on a quad ride with Diana Quad...it never disappoints! The machines are reliable, the guides are excellent and the rides thru the dunes and along the beach are amazing. Highly recommended.Written October 30, 2024
- Jo D0 contributionsFabulous one hour camel tripWe had a great time on our camel ride with Diana Dromadaire. The pick up was easy from a local hotel as we are staying in an Airbnb and then we were dropped off where our camels were. We were helped to get dressed and then went on our camel ride. The guide was friendly, helpful and took amazing photos and videos for us. I don't know much about camel treatment but they looked ok. It was a shame there was so much rubbish along the beach. But it was a brilliant trip with lovely guides and I would recommend them.Written October 26, 2024

After closely examining all camel tour options, I settled on Diana Dromedaries. Originally, I had booked with another company that had the most reviews and most camel tours. Pickup was mentioned, by that company, but in the end I could not get a commitment for a pickup and was told to meet at a certain destination. Not knowing Essaouria, this was a deal breaker. Pickup mentioned and then not honored.
Diane Dromedaries mentioned hotel pickup and sent a man to retrieve us, who was on time, and took us to the camels. A Chiche + Darâa (popular costumes worn by men in the Sahara) were also provided, as stated in the description. The other camel tours mention the head cover, we got both. With the wind and sand, being covered made a big difference.
The 3-hour tour was perfect. We saw all the sites mentioned. This is the standard tour adventure that is done with camels and horses. (Daughter did the horse version the following morning). There does not seem to be much beyond this to really justify a 4 or 5 hour camel tour. Maybe the extra time is made up with a meal.
No meal need with Diana Dromedaries. Sweets and tea were included at the Cafe Jimmy Hendrix. There were so many sweets that when we were going to leave the plain flat cookies, our guide told us to take them for the camels. Each camel gently took the cookies from our hands, so sweet!!
The camels were very gentle. Daughter liked riding over the dunes. I thought the ride on the beach was beautiful. Saw forest and ruins as well. I counted 51 pictures that our guide took of us on our camel tour and one group picture taken at the cafe. He even got a picture of my camel sitting down. It felt like I was sitting on a folding table! Great pictures (51) taken to remember our adventure in Essaouria.
