Kuching, the “Cat City”, is a heaven for tourist! It is one of the main tourist destination in Sarawak. Join this bike tour around the heritage building and temples, Malay Kampong, leaving you with a memorable experience! The ride is around 17km (10.5633 miles) and takes about 4.5 hours, with regular stops. Children are welcome with an adult. Apart from cycling around the heritage buildings and monuments, you will be taking a cruise across the Sarawak River on a traditional Sampan boat. You will be taking through the track of the rural Malay Kampong along the bank of Sarawak River, explore the village and savor of the variety of traditional Malay foods, especially Kuih Lapis. It is completely different from the Malay lifestyle in the city. Next, you will be exploring an open air market of Kubah Ria, a must visit market for visitors. You can find most of the Kuching’s favorite foods here. Such as tropical local fruits, vegetables and local handicrafts. Some forest produce including wild honey and exotic plants are also available in the market. Come and join us and experience the story of Kuching the best way possible – by bicycle!

Wonderful Bike Ride in the Villages Surrounding Kuching
My husband and I very much enjoyed our village bike ride with Farrah. Who would have known that not much further than a stone’s throw from downtown Kuching you could be riding bikes in villages with chicken’s running around and a boatload of laundry hanging out to dry since it was a sunny day? Farrah provided a nice amount to history to us at various stops along the way and I was also so appreciative of her patience with my numerous questions. We even rode right by Farrah’s house and got to meet her father! We went to the market and explored, had a plate full of chicken fried rice along with plenty of deliciously cold drinks before ending up on a sanpan that took us across the river. Highly recommend this tour!

Orangutans and longhouse lunch - excellent family trip
Family of five (my father, my wife and two kids aged 9 and 7) had an excellent tour to Semenggoh for the orangutans in the morning followed by lunch at the Annah Rais Longhouse. Our guide Farhah was fantastic, really knowledgeable about both the orangutans and the longhouse, and made it interesting for us all. The kids particularly enjoyed learning the orangutans’ names and playing blowpipe darts after lunch! We were very lucky to see 14 orangutans, including the demanding alpha male and a couple of mothers holding their babies, but sightings not always guaranteed. Farhah’s knowledge made the experience many times greater than it would’ve been travelling without a guide. The tour and food in the longhouse was superb. Farhah had so much knowledge to share about everything from the history of the longhouse to the flora and fauna all around. Thank you to our lunch hosts. Also a big thank you to our driver, sorry we didn’t catch his name! We can’t wait to come back to Kuching in the future and we will happily use Paradesa again!

      Wildlife and heritage in Sarawak!
For both tours (Semenggoh+annah Rais longhouse and bako national park) the guide were knowledgeable and gave us interesting insights. Delilah took us through the semenggoh and the longhouse, we had the chance to see an orangutan despite the pouring rain in the morning, while we had lunch at the longhouse with real homemade traditional dishes made by super cute uncle and auntie who hosted us in their cosy home. The following day we Jason took us to Baku national park, we were picked up at our hotel and we arrived at the jetty (suggestion to take a towel to dry your feet as you will have to walk in the water). Jason took through a path to the beach but also in other spots. At the park we saw: 5 snakes, 3 species of monkeys, the flying lemur and the bornean bearded pig. During the walk he explained the different plants growing in the rain forest. Overall a great experience that I strongly recommend if you pass by Kuching for a few days.

      Amazing Food Tour in Kuching
We started our tour with our guide Delilah at 8 am. First, she showed us a traditional family owned Chinese shop where we got „opium coffee“ (without drugs of course) and Chinese breakfast. Then we went to a hawker center where the local people meet and we had delicious drinks and food. Until 12 noon we could taste so many little bites and fruits - it was such great experience. We also crossed the river and visited a local bakery for kek lapis - layer cake. The last stop was a restaurant owned by a local family. We were really full but - of course - we tasted some local specialities. Our guide Delilah was wonderful - on the way she explained about Kuching and the local way of living. We did the tour as a family - our daughter is 11. She was brave to taste the food but to be honest she also liked it very much because Delilah took us to places where she could take great pictures with her phone. The tour is a bit of walking in the heat but it is certainly worth it and prepared us for our subsequent visits at hawker centers in Sarawak. Thank you Delilah!!!!

      Just amazing!
It was a really cool adventure. The trail is very nice, but it is not for unprepared people. We really enjoj the walk to the cave, but the cave was breathtaking. Our guide, Benedik, is fantastic. He told us a lot about the local plants, their use, about the Malayan culture at all. It was really nice day!

      Fantastic trip around Kuching
What a wonderful experience! Together with our two guides, Dee and Kelvin, we did the 5D4N bike, hike and kayak-adventure. The organisation was perfect, the assistance fantastic. Dee and Kelvin supported us during all difficult and easy moments, they were very careful and helpful. They were fine company and had a lot of fun. We slept in a longhouse, a magnificent homestay at the lake and a Buddhist center which all was marvelous. We surely would recommend Paradesa, the trip and of course our guides!

A challenge in the humidity but so worth it!
Lucky for us we were the only 2 on our tour with Mr Lister. Very fit and enthusiastic, took us to the gold mining area, was very knowledgeable as Bau is his home area and it was clear he loves it. Visited the Blue Lake, Fairy cave and rode quality bikes on and off road. Patient guide, we weren't great at going up rocky inclines but going downhill was awesome! Followed up with a well earned lunch. Thanks again :)

      Great to explore
Azra was a great guide and really informative. The trip was a great way to get out and explore the city. Despite the rain (this really wasn’t a problem and we commented that it wasn’t unpleasant) we got to see the local sites and taste the local food including laska and Indian treats. We really enjoyed our trip including our 10yr old son.

8-Day Sarawak Rainforest Bike Discovery with Lister and Estee. It was amazing. All our wishes came true.
Lister and Estee took fantastic care of us and made sure we had a unique experience. They arranged an e-bike for my wife so she was able to follow me and Lister without any problems. Estee was always around with the car for refreshment drinks and freshly cut fruit. We were lucky to see both orang-utans and the rare Rafflesia flower in bloom. It was an unforgettable trip. Highly recommended !

      Ultimate 9 days cycle tour!
Traveling with my grown-up daughter, from UK, we had a fantastic time. Every day was full of things to see and/or do. The cycling was not easy, but very doable. We saw 5-6 species of primates, including Orangutans and Proboscis monkeys, dolphins, many differing kinds of frogs, snakes, salt-water crocs and more. All in safe environments. Plus a wide variety of plant life, my personnel favourites were the range of tropical Pitcher plants. And, of course the guides where wonderful, bikes and accommodation very good. Oh and there were a couple of waterfalls to swim in and spectacular caves.

      Batang Ai longhouse 3D2N
+ We really enjoyed our stay at the longhouse and experience more or less their lifestyle up close. The lounge/eating area was very nice and cozy. Every meal was prepared by the locals and very delicious. The hike upriver and the waterfall were very enjoyable. The residents of the longhouse who accompanied us on the hike are very friendly and savvy of the jungles - they showed us all sorts of things they are catching! The guide Omar is knowledgeable. - There were mosquitoes nets in the room but they were broken - however there was barely mosquitoes in the room so it was ok. The sheets were stinky. During the walks from the longhouse back to the boat there were a lot of mosquitoes in the gardens, and Omar insisted on leading the way but walked very very slowly and blocked our way. We felt very uncomfortable about this and most of the bites we scored were from this short walk. He should adjust his attitude and stop making the guests uncomfortable on purpose. Plus there was a giant scorpion in the bathroom.. Do note that the Longboat Riverine will most likely not happen due to low water (we did the trip in June and it was already way too low) unless you take the tour during the rainy season. The adjustment by the guide (alternative trek) was great although it might be a bit difficult if you are not a good trekker/hiker.

      Longhouse stay an interesting experience
It was great to experience the longhouse and stay there. I liked that we lgot to help cook the dishes for the dinner and get involved. The jungle walk was very short and we didn’t see any burial sights or farms, enjoyed the swim in the river while we waited for our lunch which was cooked using the techniques described in the itinerary. Evening of music and dance was very basic and we got to see four people dress up in the Iban costume and perform a 60second dance. The men were better and more professional. There were kids behind the window laughing at the girls performing. There was a lot of free time and it was a shame we couldn’t have done the blow piping in the late afternoon as we all enjoyed it but unfortunately we did it in the morning very quickly before we left. I don’t feel I really got to understand the Iban people and their culture properly as the questions we asked were not actually answered. Half the people who were supposedly living there all left the same day we did. Was an interesting experience but unsure how authentic it all was. Lola ok

One of the best bike tours we have ever done! Our guide Kelvin was excellent and we learnt a lot about Kuching history and visited key locations on route. The tour also had a surprising amount of local tasty food included and represented very good value for money. I can highly recommend this tour to anyone who can ride a bike😁

Great half day cycling tour for us as family of 4 with a 7 year old (hired own bike) and 4 year old (on back of adult bike). Our guide, Lister, was great. He got the pace of the tour right with refreshment stops to try local drinks and foods plus pointing out the sights. Kids enjoyed buying bananas in the market. Finished off with excitement of putting bikes on a sampan to row across the river. Would recommend strongly.

This tour is a great way to get to know Kuching in just a morning. My guide Farhah grew up here (we went through her village) and eloquently described the local history, food, and additional sites to see. The tour of the market was outstanding - I must have taken 20 pictures of all the food, and tried a half dozen of them.
This tour gave me the info to explore more of the city. We started at the waterfront, rode through the historical district, Little India, Little China, the 6 villages south of the river, the market, and the north waterfront. Yet we never rushed, and Farhah always had time to describe everything from a local perspective.

We had a fantastic time on our bike tour. Delaila and Azra were extremely kind and knowledgable. They were able to look after a group of very different ages and cycling experience with a smile. We saw all aspects of Kuching life, city and villages, and ate lots of tasty food. A real highlight was visiting the fruit and fish market. The trip ended with a Sampan boat ride back across the river. We really enjoyed our trip.

Were initially a bit skeptical with our children (9 and 12 years) to do a bike tour through Kutching, but it was fantastic! The heat can be withstood surprisingly well by the relative wind. Most of the time you drive on barely used paths and get a very versatile impression of the city including delicious stops. Azra, our super friendly and first female guide could speak perfectly English and tell us a lot about the sights and culture. You can not get to know Kuching and the surrounding area more beautifully!!!

We had a fabulous time with Farhah, exploring the alleys and back ways of Kuching, riding to the villages along the river, stopping for refreshment in a neighborhood and later stopping at a great farmers market, riding back on the opposite side of the river and taking a boat back to “our” side of the river. We learned of the history and customs of the area and much more. Definitely a tour worth taking.

Great half day introduction to Kuching and the local villages. Would recommend to first time visitors to get their bearings and also taste some great street food, taste opium coffee (a personal highlight) and see some of the key sights of the area. Our guide Lister was very patient and easy going. Cycling route is easy, so accessible to all bike riding capabilities.

The Heritage bicycletour was great fun! We learned a lot about Sarawak, the life in Kuching and the food ofcourse. Bicycles were in very good condition. The set up of the tour was perfect. Cycling around, making some cultural and food stops in the city, to cycle a bit more through the kampongs to finally return by boat. The guide was also such a kind and great guy. He put a lot of effort in giving us an amazing experience! We had a lovely day.
