About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Nickynutcase0 contributionsOur evening waterway odysseyA last minute decision to go on this tour with CPH and it was truly fantastic. We were picked up from our hotel and taken on a 45 minute mini bus journey to our starting point. Our guide Adam from CPH was fantastic. His knowledge of the waterways and mangroves we travelled along was incredible. Clearly passionate about the wildlife and indigenous people living along the river he constantly updated us with relevant and fascinating information. Our boat skipper literally went the extra mile to make sure we were completely safe and enjoyed motoring along the water. We saw Irrawaddy Dolphins, Saltwater crocodiles, proboscis monkey's, kingfishers, longtail mackaw monkeys and when the sun went down, we were treated to the delight of fireflies providing an evening light show. The whole experience was fabulous and something my wife and I won't forget. Fantastic.Written June 21, 2024
- G8306FClidiab0 contributionsAmazing boat tour with EhwanWe booked a tour with Ehwan Ibrahim (+60 19-878 5088) after seeing his contact details in a Sarawak guide. It was an amazing tour- Ehwan and his boatman did everything to give us the best chance of seeing the wildlife. Despite rain we saw lots of dolphins, proboscis monkeys and a crocodile! It seems like the chance of seeing wildlife is quite high but even if we hadn’t seen anything, the scenery was still beautiful. It was only us on the boat which made it a much better experience than some of the other big company tour boats we saw out on the river. Highly recommend doing this Sarawak river boat tour!Written February 18, 2024
- MorrisYa130 contributionsAmazing ExperienceThe Culvert had booked my husband and I this experience with CPH Travel Agencies. This tour did not disappoint. Our guide Don and captain Jeff were amazing. Don picked us up at 8:45am sharp, from there we headed to the boat. Don was clear that there was no guarantee of seeing dolphins. Regardless we were fortunate enough to experience the dolphins and wildlife of the wetlands and mangroves. The guide and captain were ethical, knowledgeable, and shared interesting legends and history with us while we were on the boat. 10/10 would recommend.Written March 15, 2023
- Dyldan0 contributionsWrong timeDo not go before end March ,April no orangutan have not been seen since November because there is plenty of food in the forest for them so don't need to go to centre .Written March 3, 2020
- janlrengasamy0 contributionsTo see orangutanIt was the wrong time of year to see the orangutans as there is an abundance of food in the forest for them to eat. Best to visit in the dry season, maybe April to August but we weren't advised of this when we booked. Our host was very friendly and helpful though.Written February 14, 2020
- Ing ing N0 contributionsAmazing visit to Semenggoh wildlife centreIt is a national park with Orangutan, with passion and wait n they came out from the rainforest. The Sarawak Forestry Officer has done a great job . Life experiences.Written December 26, 2019
- Z2753OFscottm0 contributionsFantastic viewingWe booked our tour through bakonationalpark.com and had a fantastic drive that gave us tips and lots of info on the Orangutuans in general. The trip was quite quick as you are only likely to see them at 9am or 3pm - feeding times. We were lucky enough that on arrival ‘the old lady’ of the park was in the trees and walked us down to the viewing area with a ranger. Thoroughly enjoyed the morning 👍🏼Written November 12, 2019
- Hutto12340 contributionsBorneo orangutanEasy to access carpark. Taxi from Kuching ok or hire a driver to make sure you get back. We saw 2 orangutan even though it was raining. Great to watch. Went at 9:00am. Would be good if there was an opportunity to walk within the reserve, rather than just carpark and feeding platform. Infrastructure needs money spent on it.Written September 26, 2019
- supertravelersingap0 contributionsOverpriced and description is unaccurate- Completely overpriced trip, definitely not worth it. We got scammed. - The lunch is a joke, a cheap sandwich, a mini banana and a bottle of water - After an hour and a half on the island, the crew will ask you to leave. The entire trip will take you 5 hours, travel and drop-off included, instead of the 8.5 hours stated on the description - Do not expect to see anything interesting about the turtles. You will only see two holes, and a small sand place where apparently eggs are layingWritten August 8, 2019
- silversnitch0 contributionsWorthwhile glimpse of longhouse layoutWe enjoyed this short visit to the longhouse that provided an interesting snapshot of both modern and traditional ways of life for this Bidayuh community at Annah Rais. The tour operator company was flexible and our guide was friendly. We appreciate this experience overall and are keen to learn more about other longhouses and tribes, and we hope our family and Kuching locals visit as well!Written August 2, 2019
- Kate H0 contributionsWell worth a visitReally enjoyed our time here in that the orangutans roam free and only come to feed if they choose to. We were lucky enough to see six over a 2 hour period including mother and baby, but nothing is guaranteed. We took a GRAB taxi (same as Uber) from Kuching to park and cost RM27 and RM 4 to get in. A very cheap afternoon out!!Written July 24, 2019
- AntibesTraveler0 contributionsGreat DedicationAn Excellent opportunity to understand the Significance of Orangutans Nature Other Creatures and their inter connectedness also makes the conscious realise what their roles are in maintaining the environment(s) for the and many other creatures it is a good way of getting a better education on what the obligations of Caring homo sapiens must do to ensure continuity and preservationWritten July 20, 2019
- LeiLei710 contributionsWoweee....We hired a van and went in the morning. Great idea to hire a vehicle as the road in from the entrance would be a good hike! When there the guide noted many times that not to expect the Orangutans to come out as they are encouraged to survive on their own. We were very lucky to see 6, even a mum with a baby! When leaving stop off at the shop and the vet's monitor and mark who was there that day and the history of the orangutans journey. Such a great visit!Written July 20, 2019
- Amwmilner0 contributionsVery friendly and helpful driver/guide.We were very fortunate to see 6 orang utans on this trip, although of course that is beyond the tour guides control. However one of our party had managed to injury her knee on the previous day, and the driver went out of his way to accommodate this setback in a very helpful friendly manner.Written July 16, 2019
- Michelle S0 contributionsA must see while in KuchingWe returned for another visit after visiting the centre. These amazing creatures are free to roam but return to the centre for food if the desire. So wonderful to see these animals well cared for in natural surroundings. Visitors can watch the orangutans’ behaviours while maintaining a healthy respect for the creatures and their own safetyWritten July 1, 2019

Great for couples or families. Interactive displays and exhibits. Even with some travel within Asia we found it a rewarding experience and strongly recommend at least a half day visit. The performances at the cultural center were worth waiting for. Getting there requires a taxi or a tour as it is not easy to get to. Still worth the visit!

Having all cultures in Sarawak show-cased in one place was excellent. We visited each and every unit at the site and were impressed by the elaborate display of the dwellings and artifacts. The cultural performance at the end of our visit was superb. We had in the past visited a similar cultural village in Sabah and this tour was comparable, if not more elaborate. Not to be missed, while in Kuching, Sarawak.

The village has clear potential to be fantastic - but- is in need of some serious maintenance - questionable safety in places. Could do with more information about how people lived and features of the houses. At the Chinese house we learned about pepper production which was great and some houses provided a bit of music and dancing. The show at the end is excellent.
Our driver was kind but a bit unclear, erratic and didn’t seem very familiar with the place.

The compilation of all the tribes' traditional houses at one place was simply superb. The performances at the Show made the visitors felt welcomed. Don't miss this place.
