About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kathleenculliton0 contributionsAmazing cavesAllan was an excellent guide very knowledgeable and patient, pointing out interesting plants/ snake/ ant nests on the trees and insecst on the way through the jungle. Unfortunately we were unable to reach the painted cave as I am a slow walker, but thugh disappointed with that as that was the reason I chose this tour, The caves we saw (Trader's, Great & Moon, which was so bright that I thought there were lights!) were amazing & I was happy enough with the day. And very tired after the long walk!Written September 5, 2024
- kathleencS9803GP0 contributionsIt was very interesting & wonderous!Alain was a fantastic guide: immenslely knowledgable, pointing out interesting plants etc, on the way, answering all questions (always aware that someone wanted to ask), and patient. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the painted cave as I walk slowly, but I tried and was happy with the tour. I would recommend both it & more especially Alain, despite the long hike (I have an arthritic knee on one side and an unstable ankle on the other, so it was a bit difficult for me!)Written August 31, 2024
- liantiongg0 contributionsA great outingA good outing, nice walk under the canopy of natural forest cover. Wild flora and running stream, good ambience, as we walk up to the caves. Huge and majestic caves and eye opener to see how birdnests are harvested. A good experience walking in the dark on stairs with torch light. Best to engage a guide for better graps of the historical and present livelihoods of the peopke depending on the caves and ssfe moving around in tge caves.Written August 12, 2024
- chelsie e0 contributionsFantastic caves and rainforest expérience, a longer walk than I was aware of from the advertisementThe guide was outstanding and very informative with a sense of humour. An easy trail to follow and magnificent views. The caves were enormous.Written July 31, 2024
- D9003QOmariec0 contributionsWonderfull time in GeorgetownWe had a very nice guided-tour with Francis, who was our guide during our holidays in Malaysia. He could tell us a lot about the cultural and historical background of the city. He was very understanding towards our kids.Written July 15, 2024
- dr_ganlt0 contributionsA great outingThe trip to Niah National Park and Niah Caves yesterday (13 July) was rewarding. The enlightening and educational commentaries by Allan as we walked up to the caves meaningful and enjoyable. The forest, flora, butterflies and streams aling the way up got us engulfed with nature. The majestic caves, walking in the dark and seeing the way of harvesting birdnests were eye openers. A great outing it was, touching base with natural surrounding and seeing livelihoods of the local people.Written July 14, 2024
- madhumack0 contributionsA memorable day in Niah CavesIt was truly an amazing experience in the limestone caves and the trek through the rainforest. Our guide, Allen Ting, was extremely experienced and knowledgeable. He demonstrated it in detailed explanations about the vast variety flora and fauna. He was very patient and paced our trek to suit our ability.Written June 24, 2024
- Nickynutcase0 contributionsOur few days in KLWe've spent the last two days with Tour51 with our guide and driver Major Ton. He was a great character and his experience and local knowledge of Kuala Lumpur, surrounding regions and local customs was simply fantastic. Strong highlights for us were the Petronas twin towers, visiting the Batik manufacturing factory, National museum, War memorial and the Royal Selengor Pewter factory tour. We fully recommend this company who were a complete pleasure to use during our visit. Awesome.Written June 16, 2024
- Meander7099000 contributions272 steps and countingWalked up the 272 steps to the golden statue of Lord Murugan. Little monkeys playing around on the steps. Beautiful and spiritual inside. Well worth the steps. Take plenty of water. Amazing views.Written June 1, 2024
- Ajay4travel0 contributionsGoosebumps!Face the climb or the other side, the view is not for the faint-hearted, but neither is it that you can experience elsewhere - so enjoy the moment, many have lived to tell the tale. The ride up and down are thrilling and just pray that your luck holds where you get to walk in the clouds as well as get them to move away so that you have unparalleled views.Written July 25, 2023

- JohnMarx970 contributionsStep back in timeEnjoyed the hike to the cave. Non slip shoes are a must. Expect wet and slippery trails. Wee worth the risk step carefully when wet. Beautiful plants and insectsWritten June 8, 2023
- Lsan170 contributionsInteresting experienceOur guide, Sazali, from Asian Overland Tour, was friendly and knowledgeable. The caves themselves are also interesting for offering a glimpse into the history and people of the region. Visitors should remember to bring torches if they plan to explore the deeper recesses of the caves.Written May 4, 2023

Thank you Borneo Calling for the efficient services rendered during our trip to Kota kinabalu 20th-25th Feb to hike up Mt Kinabalu on 22nd Feb. The cheerful disposition of Mr Lee, Abby and May, their punctuality, hospitality made our stay pleasant. We enjoyed the visits to the various places of interest. The sessions with Sabah Tourism and Daily Express were surprises that highlighted our trip. The hike up Mt Kinabalu was challenging but worthwhile. The scenery is amazing. Though we were weary after the climb, the delectable meals you arranged revived our spirits. Your programme catered satisfactorily to our pleasant travelling companions _age ranging from 20+ to 80+! Thank you to our organisers James Lee and Melvin M K San for choosing Borneo Calling.
