My friend and I went for our first time to Sabah where we decided to book the Fun Boat Snorkeling and Island Visit from Kota Kinabalu with Amazing Borneo. We’ve done many snorkelling tours so far, but this one surely stood out!! Our friendly guide Joel gave us high-quality and detailed instruction which made the experience even better. During the trip, we managed to see lots of marine life and corals. I would definitely recommend all to make sure you don't miss out on this well-organised and fun trip!

My friends and I experienced our first scuba diving tour with dive Lester! We had a great time and we highly recommend you go diving with our man Lester. The tour consisted of two dive sections and afterward lunch and time relax at the beach. His attention to detail and high-quality instruction helped us feel safe and comfortable. The whole experience was amazing, safe, unforgettable! We highly recommend diving and especially with Lester.

We actually booked three trips with these guys and they were all fabulous. We did the Klias river cruise, Kinabalu park day trip and the fun boat snorkelling. Very easy to book, pick ups were on time and the guides were heaps of fun! Tours are well priced for what you get and well organised. Very easy process - you get whatsApp reminders the day before which is helpful. The booking agent even gave us some great tips on our trip to Sandakan even tho we didn’t book with them. Would definitely recommend these guys!

We did this tour among three others with Amazing Borneo on Saturday, June 15th. Pickup and drop-off were impeccable, everything was organized smoothly. The weather wasn't that good, and it hadn't been for quite a while, as we were told. So we were made aware of the fact that visibility would be poor right from the start. Which is fine, because that's just nature and you can't control it. We were 10 people on the boat and realized from the start that there were only 4 people who came for snorkeling. The rest came to dive. We've done snorkeling before where we were put together with divers, and those tours usually favored the divers at the expense of those who wanted to snorkel. Meaning that the spots were chosen with regard to what you can see when you dive, not necessarily when you only want to snorkel.
We got the impression that this was the case here, too, as we were informed that we would actually not stop at any of the usual snorkeling spots because of the afore mentioned poor visibility.
So our first stop was at the more protected side of an island, with mainly hard corals and rather few fish. We did spot some unexpected clownfish, so that was cool. We actually found visibility quite good, we've had far, far worse, and we began to wonder whether we couldn't have gone to the more colorful reef side of the island after all. Still, snorkeling there was OK. There were jellyfish in the water, harmless ones, but they had quite the sting and you didn't really see them as they were transparent. So we suggest you wear swim shirts or such. But again, they are harmless.
Time allocated to snorkel was ample compared to other, similar tours taken in different countries, though that might actually be one of the good things that came from being with divers:you have to wait for them, which means more time in the water.
Our second spot was pretty disastrous, and it was almost insolent to sell it as a snorkeling spot. There was mainly dead coral, fish life was almost non-existent. Best thing we saw were a few blue sea stars, a few neon blue swarmfish, that was it. The ocean there was practically empty, if it weren't for the jellyfish, that were far more numerous there... I've never seen the likes of it and we snorkel in almost every holiday. We know what you can potentially spot during snorkeling in TARP, so really, this was soo disappointing. One of the boat crew confirmed our suspicion that that was not normally one of their spots. Incidentally, we were the only boat there... Visibility was not great in the second spot either, but that's not their fault. It was still okay, again, we've had worse.
Snorkeling was pretty well safety-wise. Two of the crew were always in the water with us, bringing safety rings to mark the limits of where you should swim, and to help the snorkelers should they tire in the water.
Lunch was very good, selection of local and western food, drinks had to be paid extra. After lunch, we had about 90 minutes of leisure time on the island, then we came back at around 14:30.
It was an okay trip, but we kinda wish they would have either cancelled it, if they really thought visibility was THAT bad, or tried to switch days, or that they would have tried the nicer spots nonetheless... then again, we're pretty sure that this trip was cut out for the six divers, not for the 4 snorkelers and that we had to contend with diving spots instead of beautiful snorkeling spots. We have another snorkeling trip coming up on June 18th... here's to hoping it will be better.
EDIT: We received very nice feedback from management to our review and were offered compensation for this trip. This goes to show that the company very obviously cares about their clients and shows some awesome customer service. All our other tours booked with this operator were very enjoyable: do take the tour to the Kinabalu Park and Hot Springs, it´s totally worth it, and our guide, Joel, was absolutely awesome. You should give him a serious pay raise! He was very knowledgeable about the plants and flowers of the Kinabalu Park and we had some very nice discussions with him. His english was flawless. The tour was only outdone by the amazing snorkeling on Mengalum Island, which is also totally worth the trip. Do not shy away from this trip because of the many tourists that go there, as the reef spreads around the island and disperses the crowds for snorkeling.

My friend and I went for a snorkelling trip. We enjoyed every moment. They took good care of all of us making sure that we feel safe and make the most out of the trip. We saw fantastic fish and corals close to Gaya and Sapi islands without being disturbed by the crowds of other tourists. Lester and Tan are very kind and fantastic instructors with great sense of humor.
The trip was well organized, the communication was smooth. The boat was very clean and the provided equipment was also good.
The lunch and snack we received were also fine. We could choose from several options to fit to specific dietary requirements. Thanks for the amazing trip.

Awesome service by them, neither my wife nor I can swim, and over that I have never been in the sea without a vessel. So Andy was the name of the guy who was with us all the time. He helped me overcome my fear of getting into the water and try for the first time snorkeling. Such a good kid he was. Overall had a great experience with them.

The services of this travel company were beyond great. Very kind to remind us about the pick-up time via Messages, Whatsapp and email. They were very punctual for pickup. The islands were not as nice as expected but it was quite chill to have snorkelled in the quiet sea. The team was professional and took good care of all of us. Highly recommend!

Saw this operator on YouTube and followed the recommendation. Sea Tango are well organised, friendly and professional; felt very safe and a valued customer. We first snorkelled off Pulau Mamutik for about an hour. There were no other groups here at that time and we saw many beautiful fish and coral. Then coffee and cake. Our guides were helpful, knowledgeable and keen to see we had the best possible experience. Our second location was on Pulau Gaya and again clear water and many fish to see, including wrasse, parrotfish, damselfish and clown fish. Next we went for lunch on Gaya and it was good. The island was also clean and tidy with nice shower blocks. The beach was good and many fish could be seen just off the shore. The day was great value and very enjoyable. Thank you to Nathan and the team.

Hi. Just wanna check, if I wanna use your package, which part of KK should I stay? Me n my husband wanna go for honeymoon to KK it’s our first time being there. So where would you recommend so that other days we can enjoy the surrounding?

I would suggest staying somewhere near Gaya Street or near that area as mostly these packages arrange also pick up and drop off services, meaning where you stay is not really that much of a concern. It’s just that most of the famous restaurants are located near Gaya Street and Gaya Night Market and Sunday Market are held in Gaya Street as well. I personally have visited KK twice and stayed at Gaya Street for both visits. So yeah, hope this helps. Enjoy ur honeymoon ahead!
Hi have just booked through the phone, but did not get my confirmazion e.mail about the booking reference 659444954 for 1 adult and 1 kid for the trip nr 31583P3. Can you please confirm asap that this was all ok_
