About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- D9962HEhayleyh0 contributions10/10 excellent experience!!Such a cool experience! Kenny and Carlo and Mark were all so friendly and helpful and it was truly a delight to meet them. We had a great time in our karate lesson, learned a lot at a true okinawan dojo, and everyone was so friendly and wonderful. We also went out with them in sakaemachi afterward and had a blast! I would absolutely recommend this experience!! Ageshio is a great company full of great peopleWritten June 1, 2024
- 873leanderw0 contributionsA memorable experience!I had a great experience. Carlo responded quick and scheduled a class for me at the Dohjo in Naha. Something I could not have done on my own. He guided me during the class, as I'm not provicient in Japanese and sometimes missed some details of the instructions. Luckily, Carlo has karate experience so he could give me some extra trips or translate what the sensei was saying. Alltogether, it was a memorable experience and highly recommend when you are in Okinawa!Written June 12, 2023
- konstantinad2180 contributionsGreat Karate experience in OkinawaVery well organized. English speaking help and extra care for visitors :) A bit expensive but totally worth it.Written April 11, 2023
- leecG7451UV0 contributionsTraining and experience not to be missedA tremendous once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. We travelled as a large group to go and train and experience the birth place of karate. It was an honour to be part of and it did not disappoint. From the training to the guided tour of the island and history. The only point I would give to anybody making the trip is to get familiar with the opening times of some of the amenities but there will always be something available somewhere. Otherwise a truly great trip and I hope I'm lucky enough to returnWritten March 7, 2023
- jayhP6986PL0 contributionsif you're serious about karate don't miss thisIf you are serious about your art why would you not do this? A week of training in the birth place of karate with masters of their styles was incredible. We trained with Kakazu Sensei, Kinjo Sensei, Gima Sensei, Akamine Kaicho and Hokama Sensei and i took away so many things to benefit my own journey and training. Kenny, Carlo & Kevin (and Nori) were excellent guides and companions and nothing was too much trouble whether training related or doing cultural activities such as the tours or eating and drinking (Age-uke!). I doubt and really hope this was not a one off trip for me. Thanks Ageshio, i hope to see you soon.Written February 27, 2023
- CaraJayne240 contributionsPhenomenalThere are not enough words to be able to describe how phenomenal the last week has been in Okinawa karate training in all different styles including Shorin Ryu, Goju Ryu and Kobudo; all arranged by the wonderful Ageshio Japan team including Kenny, Carlo and Kevin! Nothing was ever too much for them and everything was arranged brilliantly from the training sessions, sight seeing tours and being shown the REAL Okinawa world, taking us to local bars and experiencing the full culture, food and drinks. Its a trip that will be forever remembered and it will, personally, hold a huge place in my heart. Thank you Ageshio Japan - you are incredible.Written February 26, 2023
- Marie-Eve O0 contributionsGreat experience of traditional Okinawa karateWhile travelling to beautifull Okinawa, we booked a private "small group lesson" to experiment traditional Okinawa karate in a local dojo. Booking went smoothly, and they really took the time to understand our needs and expectations since we are regurlarly training in Kyokushin karate. We wanted to try Goju-Ryu and Kinjo Sensei was amazing. He is a great teacher, easy to approch and very generous with sharing his knowledge and wisdom. We had an experience that will last in our memories forever.Written November 30, 2022
- marymargaretg20190 contributionsRyukyu Kobudo Shimbukan seminarsThanks to Ageshio for bringing Akamine Sensei from the honbu dojo to our dojos all over the world. The seminars are well-organized and packed with great detail. This instruction has been invaluable to us during covid, while we can't travel back to Okinawa to further our training. Each seminar is better than the last one. Thanks again to Kaicho and Ageshio!Written August 19, 2022
- chankdd0 contributions13th Jundokan Zoom SeminarKinjo Sensei and Gima Sensei both was fabulous karate Hanshi with a great sense of humor and profound knowledge of Goju Ryu kata and bunkai. Thank you for inviting such engaging, talented Hanshis! Would recommend this seminar for any Jundokan members.Written August 5, 2022
- ChrisR6570 contributionsThe absolute best in Kobudo TrainingThe absolute best in Kobudo training! The finer techniques explained in simple and easy to follow instruction with Akamine Kaicho in Ryu Kyu Kobudo Shimbukan who is the best in Kobudo. Instruction is in both Japanese and English and Dell Sensei (who translates) speaks a number of languages fluently. Ageshio Japan do a wonderful job of keeping the rest of the world in touch with the Masters of karate and Kobudo during these difficult times. These seminars are well worth the effort and incredibly informative.Written July 31, 2022
- FelixSirch0 contributionsVery good shimbukan seminarsGreat thanks to Ageshio Japan. The seminars are very good. So it is possible to stay in contact with Okinawa the birthplace of karate and kobudo. I like the seminars of Akamine Kaicho! He explains all in detail. I can only recommend it.Written July 28, 2022
- D9947KFdenisec0 contributionsAmazing teacher!!Anyone looking to train with Akamine Kaicho in Ryu Kyu Kobudo Shimbukan, should definitely attend these seminars online. Not only is Sensei a phenomenal instructor, but he is knowledgeable about the history because he is part of that history. You will meet and make friends with many people from around the world. It’s an amazing experience to bring Okinawa and Sensei into my house. I hope you will consider joining us for our next online seminar.Written July 26, 2022
- mariowV170EM0 contributionsHigh quality Jundokan Online SeminarsAgeshio Japan produced together with the Jundokan Sohonbu Dojo already 13 Online Seminars about Jundokan Karate. The videos are excellent in quality and are very well structured. This makes ist very easy to follow the instruction of the Jundokan sensei. Due to the pandemic situation it is very difficult to travel to Okinawa at the moment. But due to the seminars Jundokan members can stay in contact with their senseis. Ageshio Japan takes a lot of care about quality and high standard. The Jundokan sensei show their wide and very deep knowledge and unterstanding of Goju Ryu Jundokan Karate-Do. I regulary watch the videos to improve my unterstanding of Jundokan Karate. Thanks a lot for this great work! Mario Wolfram, Godan, Jundokan Korneuburg, AustriaWritten July 6, 2022
- BT2466420 contributionsOnline Karate SeminarAgeshio produced a number of excellent online seminars so that participants all over the world could continue their training despite the global pandemic. They ensured that we could keep in touch with the honbu dojo frequently with a high-quality network which made streaming the live seminars easy. They go above and beyond to ensure that all members are happy and even provided extra service when I could not attend a seminar at the last minute. Their seminars are of great quality and of great importance, especially during these times when travel is difficult and costly. Highly recommend!Written July 5, 2022
- V4474HHwilliamj0 contributionsKaraté, Jundokan Web SeminarsI follow regurlarly the JUNDOKAN WEB SEMINARS proposed by AGESHIO and the Jundokan Sensei, specialy with Tsuneo Kinjo Sensei and Tetsu Gima Sensei. These seminars are always real good experience, with valuable advices, precises and rich in explanation. It’s a pleasure to have chance to see and learn from these masters ! Carlo's hosting and follow-up of these seminars is always done with sympathy and great attention, especially in the event of a technical problems ! I would like to have the opportunity to enjoy this experience directly in Okinawa, but in the meantime I really recommend these seminars. William.Written June 30, 2022

Kenny and Carlo were tremendously gracious hosts and guides for my time in Okinawa. It was my first visit to the island, and they were extremely helpful in making introductions to local dojos and providing guidance on what to see and do while I wasn't training. The Ageshio Japan team went out of their way to make sure I had a good experience that allowed me plenty of time to train (the main reason for my visit), as well as the chance to experience Naha fully ... far better than a normal "tourist" experience if I'd relied on a guidebook or travel blog. I would recommend working with them to any individual or group of karateka seeking to make the most of a trip to the birthplace of Karate.

January 2020 was the 2nd time we used Ageshio Japan for our visit to Okinawa and we have already booked a third visit through them for this summer, when we are bringing 40 students and parents from the UK with us.
The team at Ageshio made it so easy for us last year, when we decided to go to Okinawa for the first time.
After aproaching various organisers online, it was Ageshio Japan that gave us the most confidence in their services right away by being very helpfull, profesional and good at communicating.
They understood what our needs were and made our first trip to Okinawa an absolute dream. Everything we had planned and discussed came true and was beyond our expectations.
This made us book a 2nd trip with them, which we have just come back from. This trip was just as perfect and again exeeded expectations. We cant fault any detail about our time in Okinawa!
The Ageshio team looked after us on all levels, from booking the perfect accomodation, getting us amazing karate training with masters, the karate history tour was excellent 2nd time around with a few different locations added since it was our 2nd time, and we got local guidance to beatuy-spots, restaurants, bars and markets just to give you an idea!
For someone who doesent speak japanese and/or have no connection out there, but a lifelong dream of making it to the birthplace of karate, booking your time in Okinawa with Ageshio Japan will be the best thing you can ever do!
We highly reccommend them to everyone, wether you are a karate student, a club that want a group trip or even just a normal traveller who want something totally amazing!
They will make you feel like family and make your stay in Okinawa the best!

What a week! First time in Okinawa and what a welcome. Kenny, carlo and Kevin were fantastic, friendly, funny and very welcoming. It was a full on week with training and site-seeing. From training with kakazu Sensei. (Shorinryu) to training with Kinjo Sensei & Gima Sensei at the Jundokan goju ryu. followed by Training Kobudo with Akamine Sensei! Who were all very kind and willing to teach with such passion and enthusiasm and so much knowledge and detail to take home. last session was of the week was with with Hokama Sensei goju ryu & kobudo and getting a gift with calligraphy. I cannot thank ageshio Japan enough for looking after us and giving us an incredible time along with the karate tour and southern island tour seeing the beautiful country. If it’s on your bucket list you won’t be disappointed. If you get the opportunity take it.

Wow, where do I start? Kenny was awesome at organizing things for me. I trained with Kakazu Sensei(Shorin ryu), Hokama Sensei(Goju ryu), Shimabukuro Sensei(Uechi ryu), and Kobudo with Akamine Sensei. The classes were over 2 hours each and worth every second! Carlo(my new friend) picked me up from my hotel, translated for me, and brought me back, sometimes stopping for lunch on the way. Kenny joined me for Kobudo practice and showed me some sai basics. The Karate History tour was very informative and I was taken to many monuments, Haka(tombs) of ancient masters, and Museums. Also to the Karate Kaikan, be sure not to miss your time there! Carlo is a great tour guide and answered all my questions and was a terrific traveling companion. Being a longstanding karateka in Shotokan karate, getting back to my deep roots was an honor and a privilege. Be sure to contact these guys when you visit Naha, Okinawa! I hope to return next year!

The tour was INCREDIBLE!!! Carlo went above and beyond to accommodate me. He made my trip to Okinawa fantastic!! I learned so much about the birthplace of Karate and saw so many incredible places and memorabilia. What a wonderful experience, mostly thanks to Carlo. You can tell he really cares about people and will do everything possible to make sure you have the most incredible experience. One of the best tours I’ve taken in my life and by far the best tour guide I’ve ever had up until now. Thank you again Carlo, I really appreciate what you did for me!!

A few month before my first karate trip to okinawa started, I contacted Ageshio from Germany. My requests have been answered at once and extensive by Carlo.
There is a professional mediation from the very well managed agency of Kenny Ueda. Everything works perfect and they also concider all my personal wishes.
In Naha was a very warm welcome from Kenny and Carlo. They have given me important advises how to get there and they transfered myself from the hotel to the Dojo.
Kenny’s support was excellent. Even my wish to visit the Karate history tour was perfectly organized and realised by Chinen. He gaves me insights into the cultural life of Okinawa and his family. I was very pleased about the tour.
The Karate lessons by Kakazu Sensei were arranged in such a way that I could easily train as a foreigner and without Japanese knowledge. He answered my whole questions and explained his karate philosophy. After the lessons we have had a very nice chat together. I enjoyed it very much and I could improve my Karate skills and knowledge.
Conclusion: If you want to practise Karate on Okinawa, you have the opportunity to get a very good karate training with Ageshio. The Karate experiences of Kenny is very helpful for interessted people in Karate lessons on Okinawa.

I really recommend Ageshio to those who want to experience Karate trainings with great Grand Masters and Okinawan culture. Kenny-San and Kevin-San are extremely friendly, reliable and serious in delivering their services. I learnt a lot about Karate and Okinawa thanks to them. I’m grateful. They tried their best to make sure that everything was alright and that I was having a great time. We had also a lot of fun!

Hi stopping at port from cruise on 10/11. Looking to book for 2 adults and 2 children 9 & 13 (both kobodo and black belt karate students) for 10/11. Says not available but 4 adults would be. Can I book for the 4 of us or do I need to put in the kids as adults?
Thanks James
